I've been coming to Beauty Time for at least 4 years and I'm embarrassed to say I am only now getting a review on Yelp: Nick and his wife are fantastic at making you look your best! If you want a great hair cut, come to Beauty Time. Period. Professional, friendly, talented, convenient location, reasonable rates. You won't be disappointed. (I've posted before and after pics of my cuts with this review.) Plus, they are fully up to date with covid protocols and thorough cleanliness so no worries there. (In fact, Nick's wife Arcana was cutting my hair even before they opened their own shop and I followed her to their own place--that's what a good job she does.) Beauty Time's downtown Arlington Heights location is very convenient if you live anywhere near Arlington Heights--tons of free parking, plus plenty of other businesses nearby if you're running errands. I think most guys have Nick work on them--my 17 year old son does, and he has had multiple style changes and has always been very happy with the results...plus they are very reasonably priced. Same thing with my mother before she became home-bound. Since Arcana has been my stylist for so long I usually call and ask when she'll have time and we work it out so I walk straight into the chair. I have never left without feeling like I got a great cut. After all this time I just found out that Nick does "old fashion" shaves and since they've never let me down I am certainly going to try that to start the new year off right. My favorite place for a haircut. I've been going here for a few years and Nick and Tana consistently give me and my son great haircuts. We've never been unhappy. Bonus that they're conveniently located right in downtown AH near the train station and restaurants. I just left from getting a hair cut and color and I have to say that I am more than happy with the results. I felt like time was taken to understand what I wanted and I was able to ask questions and get input along the whole time. I just love everything about my haircut and color. I was there for quite some time and I felt very comfortable and relaxed. The place is owned by a husband and wife and both of them made sure the place was clean and just the right temperature. They had a TV and a radio going so that all clientele had entertainment. I will definitely be coming back and bringing the rest of my family. Went in not know exactly what I wanted or how to best handle my hair as I wanted a small but significant change. Tana was very thoughtful and had many good suggestions. Wow! This place is awesome. Started taking my sons here a few years ago and loved the cuts Nick and Tana did. Then my husband started going too and looked really good. My last haircut and color had been a disaster and I was wondering what to do. I took my son to Tana and she cut his hair so expertly that I thought I would go to her the next time. My fiancé has been satisfyingly getting his hair cut here, and I was thinking of it as more of a "Barber Shop" type establishment. I decided to give the lady there a try for a trim. We did a little more than trim because I felt comfortable with her knowledge. So, she took some length off and gave me some layers. Holy smokes. Fashionista hair! Tana did a fantastic job! She is so thorough, yet gentle. Didn't hurt me like some yankers. She does a meticulous blow-dry and flat iron. Attention to detail. I have paid far far more at swanky salons and have not gotten these results. Give them a try! read more

This is my favorite place to get my haircut! If you are looking for a talented barber ask for Nick. He will ensure to create the style that you are looking for. There are very few barbers that will still use a straight razor on the neckline. Thankfully Nick does an excellent job and has a gentle touch. I really enjoy the old school barbershop aftershave that they use as well. Tana is an excellent stylist who not only does hair but also waxing and blowdrys as well. I went in and asked a lady if she could do my eyebrows quickly (because I was on my lunch break and had to get back to work within a half-hour), she said she could and that she would be with me in just a minute. So I sat down and waited 20+ minutes for her to not even glance in my direction. She was working with someone else when I had walked in, so when she told me to just wait for a minute, I assumed she was almost done with her current client, not barely halfway through. I honestly wouldn't have minded if she had just let me know that the wait time would be that long (or if she had said anything at all to me besides, Yeah, I'll be with you in just a minute, sit down"), but she didn't. So I ended up wasting my time and having to walk out so I wouldn't be late for work. Pretty bad service. read more

Don't be fooled by the name. Nick formally from Leo's has opened his own shop with his wife. With sport clips running an hour wait for a $20 haircut, how can you pass BT up. 10 bucks with no wait makes it a no brainier! read more

This is a very close barber shop for me which makes its convenience an extra treat for how skillful the barber is. I've had my best haircut ever from here and continue to come in often for accurate touch ups. The service is professional and conscientious wether you like to talk or not.
