It's that time once again for a cut and highlight with Pam. I had a great surprise to find that Romaine was here today! She is never here on Tuesdays and I was only able to get an appointment with Pam on Tuesday so I thought I wasn't going to be able to get my eyebrows done for the holidays. But I walk in turn the corner and there she was. She grabbed me and squeezed me in for a quick eyebrow before her next client came in. So great full she decided to come in this Tuesday because of Christmas. I love just knowing I can lay down she does was she does and they look amazing. Wish I was able to get facials from her more often they are fantastic! Just finished with Pam and once again I. I always go to Gia for my haircuts and today, I went to Gia to do my first ombre and she nailed it. Honestly, the girl is a genius at what she does. I told her I wanted purple highlights with a red base and she concocted such a beautiful color that look hidden in fluorescent light but in natural light, it shine through. I got my make up done here with a bridal party and to put it bluntly, I looked like a hooker clown. I have monolids and the make up artist should have asked about this beforehand. I was alarmed when she had to Google how to do eye shadow looks on Asian eyes! She also gave me lashes that aren't meant for smaller eyes and they obstructed my view all day. She had no idea what she was doing and it looked HORRIBLE. I wasn't about to make a big deal because it wasn't about me that day, but I can't believe how much I paid to look like trash. read more

I have been coming to Lisa for awhile now and I must say that every time I go to get my hair done I leave more amazed by the outcome every time! What I love the most is that she educates you on what is good and bad for your hair and what makes/keeps it the healthiest. To me that is very important because who doesn't want healthy hair! This is a cute little salon that has a spa in house, in Mt. Prospect. Although it's pretty easy to find, I get lost every time I have an appt. and probably drive my hairstylist nuts. I like her alot, she's very consistent with my hair and never chops it or messes it up. Never, ever, EVER again will I go to anyone but Romain for my "special" waxing needs. Romain is a true professional. Not awkward at all, definitely knows what she's doing, but also makes the experience comfortable and not weird. I can honestly say after being waxed elsewhere and then coming to Romain, the pain level, professionalism, time spent, cost, everything was much better. I know what you're thinking, its a wax, it's going to hurt no matter where you go. True, but maybe its the TYPE of wax she uses that made it far less painful? Or her technique? All of the above? I will never get my hair colored here again. I went in for ombre, showed a picture, told the stylist that if she does not think she can do it that exact color that we should not do coloring, only hair cut. She assured me that she had done this many times before and it will look how I want it to. Well, it didn't. It came out YELLOW/orange, which is exactly what I told her I didn't want (I wanted light brown/caramel/no red tints). In my opinion, the bleach was left on too long. We had to redo it 3 times in the salon because the color was so yellow/orange. The Shampoo Guy: worst shampoo experience of my life. He was so rough with the comb. When ombre is done, your hair gets teased and it becomes more difficult to comb through, so you have to have patience. Well, he decided to rip my hair apart with his hands because he didn't have the patience to comb through certain areas. Very painful, very unprofessional. Anyways, when I went home, the color was so bad, I had to redye it back to my natural color. However, now my hair is ruined from the coloring and there are multiple split ends. I am very upset because I had such healthy, long hair and now it's damaged and dry. The only reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the hair cut was somewhat decent. read more

She looked at my hair and the pictures I showed her and executed perfectly. PLUS she was so sweet, friendly, warm, attentive, and so much fun to talk to!! I immediately clicked with her, loved her, will go back to her for all future hair needs. - Eyebrow wax/no-chip pedicure (Sylvia)= Sylvia was so sweet and accommodating (she fit me in for a last minute eyebrow wax) and she did an amazing job on my eyebrows and pedicure. 1 thing to note is the pricing is a bit confusing (eyebrow wax cost on menu said $16, but I was told at checkout that it was $19/ Also the no-chip pedicure was $55 which is a little pricey for a no-chip pedicure, the polish options were pretty limited, and there wasn't a long foot massage or anything like that..). Other than that though Sylvia was super sweet and great at what she does! - Hairwash/Blow-dry/ face framing hair trim (Kelly)= Kelly was so helpful to everyone in the salon, it was admirable! Conflicting review.... no question about skill here. Cutting skills and color ability truly talented. Best blow out you'll ever get by Lisa or Gia. And Anthony has it all too. Left though due to unprofessional behavior which really disappointed me by a stylist. Turned not nice for reasons I don't even know. Sad but for that reason I would not recommend. Again, if you want pure talent and great hair go there... but I left on principle. I have a hard time giving my money to a mean girl. I love this place! Everyone that works here is super professional and really friendly so it creates a fun environment. Gia did my highlights and lowlights and it came out great. I have a lot of hair but she was super thorough and took her time with it so the highlighted pieces weren't chunky. This was my first time here but she listened to what I wanted and totally delivered. As I was getting my hair done, the other stylists there were doing excellent work as well! I was in town for a wedding and wanted some waxing/hair blow outs before the wedding for my mother and I. My mother called and set up the appointments for the both of us, I was thrilled with our service! I felt right at home! Lisa did my hair, and I knew it was going to be great she also gave me lots of styling tips and tricks for blow outs...it was fantastic! I have to commend the guy that did my shampoo-the scalp massage was Bomb.com Carla (i think) did my moms hair, she was thrilled with the style, and was completely relaxed while she was getting done up! Amazing customer service! Romaine did an amazing job with us for our waxing/tinitng needs. She took careful time to explain the needs, and she actually educated both of us on what our individual waxing/tinting needs for the future would be. I was surprised that she recommended I not get my eyebrows tinted, i was scheduled for a tint and wax, her honesty about my needs was incredible-she really is an amazing asset to your salon! This has NEVER happened to me, and my toes are prone to chipping (which also happened but I won't blame this salon for that) I spent $50 with tip and have had to repaint half of my own nails. I just got back from what was the best waxing experience I've ever had. I came to Louis Anthony for a wax because my usual place couldn't fit me in this morning and I have gotten my hair done here before(Gia is wonderful, she did a great job and I will definitely be making an appointment to see her again soon!). Romain did an amazing job on my brows!! Having spent the last year or so feeling like my eyebrows were crooked after a botched wax somewhere else, she showed me exactly what she planned to do and explained why she wanted to do it that way. It really speaks to her experience and training. I've never been one for regular brow maintenance, but I've already put a reminder in my calendar in 5 weeks so she can clean up my brows again. Additionally, the salon is super clean, everyone is really friendly and so personable. She is a true master stylist because she understood what I wanted and executed it perfectly. I went in yesterday on Halloween. I called the morning of and they were so kind in getting me an appointment. Not only that, when I said I was in a time crunch to get to work, they were willing to put me in an earlier time. As soon as I arrived about 15 min early, they went straight to work. Didn't make me wait at all. She took my coat to hang it up which was also super nice. I got a pretty big length cut along with a dye to ash brown. Unfortunately, I was in a time crunch (as I said earlier) so I wasn't able to do the full head (I would have had to bleach and then dye because my hair is dark AND already colored), but Samantha was very understanding and gave me the consultation that I should dye the ends and then work my way up. Yes, it means I'll have to come in again and spend more money but, in a month or so I'll probably want a trim anyway. Everyone was really friendly and they're like family which is really nice to see. Samantha and another girl washed my hair and toned it, and they offered me a towel underneath my neck because I was uncomfortable. They're quick to notice these things, and she always made sure to tell me to tell her if she's hurting me (which she never did, btw). My hair turned out great, no blunt ends, they give compliments to me and the stylist (again, nice to see that they're nice to one another). All in all, the color didn't appear too well.. but that's not their fault (it's mine for (1) not having enough time to do bleach, (2) having dark hair, (3) having dyed hair LOL) With all thise factors in mind, Samantha did amazing. She was very gentle with the shampoo; she discussed what I wanted; she looked through a picture book with me and I showed her a couple ideas; she cut and styled my hair really well and also fast. Let me tell you, I will never go anywhere else. Ever. Lisa saved my hair, and my self esteem for sure. She talked to me like we had known each other for years. I felt incredibly comfortable getting my hair done here. She cut and colored my hair and it came out BEAUTIFULLY. Even better than the picture I had shown her. A friend and I went here today to try out a new salon and hopefully find a place we would want to continue to go back to.
