I had a crazy idea, why not get my hair washed, cut, and styled...it had been a very long time since I Had treated myself. I called them up and asked if they had a walk-in time available today, and luckily I was able to be seen in two hours with Lulu! I lived right down the street from the Salon and it was also the place my mom had worked at many years ago when it was called Salon of Beauty. When I got there I was greeted and Lulu started working on my mop of a head. When all was said and done I walked out with a big smile on my face and felt ready to face the world. It's amazing what a good cosmetologist can do for someone, sometimes it's not always about the hair, but sometimes it has to do with how one is treated while in a business. I have been searching for a new stylist for some time and I think I finally found her. I was lucky enough to have Lulu cut & color my hair. I usually do highlights but the last few times it has been over done so she did beautiful low lights. She communicated with me about what she was doing & why. She didn't mind my questions, which is very hard to find in a stylist. Everyone who works there is lovely & friendly. I love Fariba, I've been getting my hair done with her for years, she's the best stylist I've ever had. Extremely meticulous and gentle. When we put highlights in my hair they were so natural looking even though my hair is so dark, her technique takes time but the result is so worth it. Highlights are definitely her specialty. I've been platinum, had pink and purple and blue highlights, she's always maintained my hair health. When I went back to natural, the damage was so minimal you couldn't tell at all. My hair doesn't require TOO much work. I don't dye it or treat it - and for as long as I can remember, have gone to chain haircut stores to get it cut or trimmed. I've never been happy with any cut or style - ever. I practically skipped out of Robert's Salon today in joy. This is the third visit I've made to see hairstylist Jill Raimondi, and she is awesome. We discussed everything about my hair and what my goals were (to grow it long and healthy!) and it has truly been growing faster and looks healthier as a result of my visits!! After the first appt, my boyfriend was floored at how great my hair looked!!! There's nothing outrageous about my hair---but Jill knows her stuff. She is simply magical. The salon has been remodeled and it is beautiful! So clean and pretty! I get my hair highlighted and colored by Fariba. I have very dark hair that is hard to lighten but Fariba makes it happen and she does it so carefully. Unfortunately, I cannot go back. PRO's: Robert did a wonderful job and wore his mask. It was my first time at this salon and my first salon visit since the pandemic began. Robert proudly informed me that he is fully vaccinated. I wish I could go back. CONs: other employees were not wearing masks and they did NOT take my temperature when I arrived. My children are away at school and will both travel 3 hours just to have Fariba cut their hair. My son was a cheerleader at UCLA and had very strict rules about length, color and style. I had Fariba:( I am not accustomed to getting my hair colored, so like an idiot I went to her twice thinking her hair practices were normal practices, until my friends told me how awful I was getting treated. Twice she told me one price for my hair color before I went, and twice she charged me more than what we previously discussed. (Not to mention I tipped her on top of that, like an idiot cause I'm nice and not looking for a cheap hair-do.) I was looking for quality and I don't mind paying for it, but when you consistently tell me one price and charge another?? Smh Boring to speak with: You can only get her to talk about her kid. I know this sounds a bit juvenile, but I want the whole package in a hairstylist. I want to have an amazing and fun experience if I'm going to be spending my hard earned money and have to sit there for hours. After my hair was done getting rinsed, she yanked the crap out of my hair, no seriously, YANKED THE CRAP OUT OF MY JUST CHEMICALLY DELICATE HAIR. I asked her if it was normal for chuncks of my hair to fall out, and she said "it is since it was just processed"!!!.... No honey, it's NOT NORMAL, okay!! I'm not exaggerating either!! Here I am believing that it's normal, but according to everyone else I'm crazy cause that's not normal. I could see this made her uncomfortable when I asked her about it, so she covered up the piles of hair she pulled out with a towel... LIKE HELLO!! I already saw it because there are mirrors everywhere!!! Please believe I'm not exaggerating. Like you know how you pull out hair from your brush each time you brush it, she pulled out enough hair that would literally take months to naturally come out in your brush at home, months. Not to mention, she burned the crap out of my hair/scalp with the blow dryer! I vocalized that she was burning my scalp so she would know I was in pain, I even said "ow, that burns" and she said "oh" but then she just did it again!!! It hurt so much that I just got up and said "That's good thanks" She said "but your hair is still damp." I can just blow-dry it myself and save myself more torture. I also noticed that she didn't color the sides evenly, so I brought it to her attention via text to set up an appointment to fix it, and she never got back to me. I just ended up going to someone else who did a way better job! Use caution when you use Fariba. read more

I have been going to my stylist Juan for about 3 years now, ( I call him my hair guru ). He is a stylist in every sense of the word. A hairdresser will cut your hair but a stylist will create amazing results. Every cut that I have ever gotten has turned out AMAZING!
