Not only are the employees on your ass trying to make you buy something but when you want to buy something theres already something wrong with the sneaker for example creased or dirty! I had to give this store a 1 star just to review but it doesn't deserve the one star. I purchased sneakers $150 and as a valued customer I would expect an even exchange at the very least because I don't have a receipt I lost it. Beware the store does not have a phone line to reach out to . Not a good sign if you don't even have a phone number for your customers to call in closing the store disgust me they can take your money but they can't work with you and don't consider you a valued customer even though you spent hundreds on them. Let me start by saying my name is John and I. Work at a sneaker store for 9 years before I. came into this outrageous sneaker store. Called roberts sneaker store in Queens Junction area on the 7 train line.. I was excited to come to this company on Monday morning and start my first day as soon as I came in nobody recognize me or informed that they were receiving a new employee so I had to sit down for 3 minutes and wait for the owner mr.lee Korean. As soon as mr. Lee came in one of the employees informed him that I John was a new employee he told me what are you doing here I said excuse me good morning my name is John and I was here Saturday spoke to your son he called me on Sunday night told me to come in that they had a spot available for me this man told me wow this is Roberts sneaker store okay you have to respect me okay go to work.. Just like that 20 minutes into the job they hand me a piece of paper that's sad the rules and regulations one of the rules were you are not allowed to talk to your coworkers the other one was you're not allowed to put your hands in your pocket the other one was you're not allowed to have your phone on you. Now I am a family man father of three what if there's an emergency he told me I have to ask permission to use my phone outrageous. The rest of the rules and regulation was if I make a sale and a customer wants a discount all discounts must be talked and given by the manager only. Now I felt like I am dealing with a customer and the customer feels comfortable with me and I'm trying to make a sale why do I have to reach out to a manager that is working on the same floor ask me trying to make his own sale for him to tell me just take out $10 that makes me look in front of my customer like a total donkey so the next time that customer comes in again I already know that customer is not coming to me he's going straight to the manager and then that makes me look bad but that's there rules and regulation another rules and regulation was 30 minute lunch break okay I said to myself I'm working from 10:00am / 9:00pm I asked the manager there why 30 minute lunch break don't take your 15 minutes break later on he said no and as soon as you walk out the door your 30 minutes begin I was like wow this is outrageous this is what you get when you work with Koreans the other rules and regulation was if I am on my lunch break and I have to go into the bathroom I have to ask permission outrageous no standing in front of the store no standing inside of the store they cost want you to be moving around even if you folded the same shirt 5 times and 1 hour they want you to fold that same shirt 20 more times until it's time for them to close problem I have with this company is with one of his rules and regulations which it goes that I have to run to please and help the customer faster Why do I have to run ain't that a safety matter issue what if I fall Donna steps or trip and bang my head they don't care about that these Korean people are disrespectful with the mouth they don't care about you they don't care where you from they don't care how you feeling they don't care if you ate or not all the care about is you making them they money every time a customer comes in they want us to be on top of the customer forcing the customer to buy something that's not business. From my years as working in other sneaker stores not the customer come in introduce yourself and inform the customer that if she needs or he need some help I'll be right here let the customer walk around the store let the customer feel comfortable that's from out of my experience these people want you to follow the customer being back of the customer to the point that I can hear the customer whispering to himself outrageous. STAY AWAY!!! this business jacks up their prices on their sneakers. I purchased a pair of nike huaraches in grade school size 6. I was charged $130.. until I got home and realized that this shoe retails EVERYWHERE for $84.99. I then went back to compare other prices with online retailers such as foot locker, eastbay etc and every single pair of sneaker in this store is at least $30- $60 above suggested retail. And we are not talking about limited releases either . Moving forward I will be purchasing all my sneakers online instead, as I don't appreciate their ridiculous price gauging, pushy sales tactics and just overall shady business practices . Also they prefer cash because they obviously DO NOT pay sales taxes. THIS IS THE WORST JOB ANYONE CAN GET INTO. Ive worked here a few months ago and everything was extremely harsh. In snow days they would keep the doors open , my co-workers and i had to wear jackets inside the store. Yes, jackets.The owner gave no explanation why we had to work in these conditions. We have to follow people and pressure them into buying something or else we get yelled at for not making a sell. On top of that the sneakers here are extremely over priced. I felt awful having to lie to customers into getting a sneaker for that specific price when i knew perfectly at footlocker or foot action they sold it much cheaper. The standing i had to do for 6-7 hours. NO BREAK! i couldn't even make eye contact or talk to my co-workers when no one was in the store. Matter of fact when all of us were getting paid and the store was closed we couldn't even speak then. I had the worst experience at Roberts ,first they sold me a sneaker that was a size smaller ..when I walked in the salesman gave me a size 8to try on when I got home the box said US 7..tried the sneaker on ,yes tight ,when I returned to Roberts 2days later with the sneakers un worn the manager treated me with no respect insisted I pay $10 more for exchange and told me to be quiet ...I never expect a manager to be so disrespectful and rude .i did pay the $10 and feel like he stole my money ,I will never spend another dime in that store ,shame on them read more
