Before my husband and I won her "FIRST EVER WEDDING GIVEAWAY!" (yay!) we had already decided to have her as our photographer! Looking through her previous photos, whether they were fashion shoots, engagement sessions, weddings, maternity sessions; you could tell that these pictures were taken by someone who not only LOVED her job but was absolutely FANTASTIC at it. Tonhya's excellent at scouting shooting locations. I had lived in Olympia for most of my life and had never thought to take pictures in the locations she chose. Of course, they all turned out perfect! Our sessions with her were so wonderful. Tonhya has a very comforting approach; warm, friendly, and very professional. She never made us feel stiff or too posed. Making us smile, laugh and show our love came very naturally for her as she easily created these beautiful moments and captured them for us to remember forever and ever! Tonhya is one of the best photographers I know. Tonhya was recommended to my husband and I through another photographer friend, and the moment we met her, it was like love at first sight! Her photography, from the way she captures the height of a moment's happiness, to her photo editing (as if her photos need editing; they are fabulous straight off of her camera!), and to her warm & friendly personality, is the kind of photography that should come from an artist with a lifetime of experience! We booked Tonhya for our engagement shoot and our California wine country wedding. She was so delightful to work with, and always made Matt and I feel at ease and actually... we felt quite glamorous! I love to look at both of our engagement shoot and wedding photos because her photography allows Matt and I to truly relive those moments. Jean Kercheval provided a wonderful service as our maternity and newborn photographer. Prior to the…read morematernity shoot we discussed what my hopes were for the photos. Jean asked meaningful questions and listened carefully to my wishes. With that knowledge she put together the perfect elements for the shoot including a beautiful dress, the woods and river site, and the overall vibe. I felt so comfortable during the photoshoot and was appreciative of Jean's guidance with poses and prompts to help elicit expressions. My husband joined for some of the photos and we both had so much fun during the process. Jean made me feel beautiful as a very pregnant woman and I believe that confidence shows in the photos. These captured memories are among our most treasured. She also photographed our daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday Party and took her senior portrait for the high school yearbook. She took a series of head shots for our son that he used to get hired as an actor in film and television, and she took the photo that was used for the front cover of the first book I published. She also took the author photo for the back covers of my books. Many people do not like photos of themselves, but Jean has a knack for bringing out her subjects' very best and providing photos that even the most self-critical customers will find appealing! This is a true art and skill, and I highly recommend Jean for all of your photography needs. I was looking for a photographer that has the creative side to have some fun with our photos. I was attracted to Jill's booth because of the work she displayed. Then I realized I wasn't looking for a photographer, I was looking for Jill! :) Professionalism: Jill is passionate about wedding photography, she listened to our needs and wishes and our ideas and truly tried to make our day special. She respected our budget and didn't nickel and dime us like other photographers tried to do. Jill is full of photography knowledge and creativity. What else can someone asks for in a wedding photographer! Communication: We had one phone conversation with Jill before we signed the contract and another right before the wedding. In between those conversations we communicated via email and Jill was amazingly responsive despite her busy schedule and traveling. She knows what the guests like and don't like; she knows when it's a good time to do certain things or ask certain questions. THAT is experience that you want in a photographer on your most special (and potentially the most chaotic) day of your life. Jill is so calm and chill that it really helped ME to relax. She gave me, the stressed-out bride who was stuck in the bridal suite, the much-needed assurance; Jill should also be titled "wedding day therapist." :D Quality: We were provided so many quality pictures. We loved so many of them that a 100-page album couldn't fit all our favorites. We had to pick and choose which pic go into the album and that was the hardest part of our photography experience with Jill. LOL! My absolute favorite part is the pictures Jill took completely captured our special day, it's like we are re-living our wedding day every time when we look through our wedding album. You know that smile that comes from your heart? Yea that's how I feel every time when I look through the pictures. After-Production Support: Jill's responsiveness doesn't just stop after she handed over the pictures. She is truly there every. step. of. the. way.
