Matt told me outright that he figured it wasn't worth it to hire them given my situation and their cost. I greatly appreciated him telling me the truth rather than just taking my money. The advice he gave was sound also, he spent probably 30-45 minutes without charging me anything to give advice for programs to use, simple ways to integrate programs, and even pointed me at another accountant who might be more inline with what I need. They are definitely some of the most expensive tax professionals on the market being 3-5x more expensive than my prior accountants, but considering poor/nonexistent communication and not responding to my emails and calls is what cost me $8k+ in tax penalties, for me it is worth the premium price (although, I have yet to get first bill from them, so we'll see haha). I was super excited, this is my first year officially filing. I had spoke with one of the secretaries and they let me know they weren't having anymore face to face appointments and to drop off my documents. Today I came in to drop off my documents and I didn't have the best experience. I had already been sitting for about 10-15 minutes in the waiting room before a man came in & was helped immediately and what sounded like a face to face appointment. After sitting for another 5 minutes I finally approached the secretary office thinking maybe they didn't know I was there. I pushed all my social anxiety out of the way and approached the office like my brother recommended only to be looked at like I interrupted a family dinner and was bothering with my presence. The chubbier older lady on the left proceeds to look at me and tells me to go sit back down and someone will be with me. I was only dropping off documents, she wasn't doing anything. How much work could it have taken her? I work in a finance company, when someone comes in to sign their loans. If the person who isn't there to finalize the loan at the time of the appointment or walk in, we don't leave the customer waiting we take the information they brought in, take copies..etc. I understand if it takes them more time and effort to get up and greet/attend people but if that is the case maybe the front desk should be opened for them or they should have a system set up on how to know when a customer has ALREADY been waiting because obviously the little ring bell on the door isn't cutting it. This will fly over a lot of people's heads but it's 2024 we should learn how to have BASIC customer service and kindness looking as there is enough hate in the world already. This is a reminder to myself and them because I didn't look the best either but that first impressions are everything and if that's the first welcome I got I promise I won't be back again.

Shorter refused to add that statement of laws, how and why. I relied on him as the subject matter expert and of course, the other party shot me down with "no specifics on HOW and WHY the contract was breached". I lost Tens of thousands and next time, I'll fight pro se and send my own letter, as my chances were better than his letter with weak,generic, unspecified statement!
