From the very beginning, she was professional, helpful, and responsive. We booked a few months in advance for her busy summer season, and she identified a location for us that matched the multiple visions we were looking for and near our neighborhood. Even though she keeps a tight schedule, when the time came for our session, we had a stressful family emergency that caused us to have to reschedule. I was very stressed about rescheduling a photo session booked so far in advance, but Danielle was incredibly kind and offered another great option the following week, which alleviated my stress. That alone--her willingness to help in a crisis, and to do so very sweetly, when she could have just said too bad--is reason alone for me to recommend her. The experience itself of taking the photos was its own pleasure! This was my and my spouse's first time ever taking professional photos, and I in particular don't always love the way I look in pictures. But Danielle immediately put me at ease. Her fun and down-to-earth personality is complemented by what is obviously a lot of experience, and she gently directed and adjusted us when needed while keeping the mood light and fun. She also obliged my spouse's ideas of how he wanted to pose in some photos with such generosity of spirit and even stayed with us for over our allotted hour to get all the good shots. After the session, we were both raving about how much fun it was to work with Danielle--definitely not a word I would have expected using for such a thing! Of course the important part: the resulting photos. Danielle sent us over a hundred absolutely gorgeous photos from our session, and I was just floored at how much I loved them. I have never felt that way about a photo of myself, and I didn't expect to change that during the third trimester of pregnancy, which has not felt like the most glamorous of times. To have these images and the memories they represent is such a meaningful gift that will last a lifetime. If you are unsure about whether you want to do a maternity photoshoot and/or you're looking for someone who will produce magnificent photos and help you have fun while doing it, book Danielle without delay!! Erin did my engagement photos and wedding photos many years back and we loved them. She was great…read morewith picking spots and helping us pose- I am definitely NOT a natural in front of the camera, but she made it comfortable and fun, and we really love all the pictures we got out of it! Very natural and very 'us'. I hadn't had any professional photos since then though, because #1, I'm terrible at planning and prioritizing things like that (esp without a major reason/event, like a wedding), and 2, it didn't seem like it was really within my budget right now. However, being on her mailing list all this time I saw that she sometimes offers mini sessions and I finally took the plunge over the holidays with my 4 year old. It was great- it was super quick and easy, AND affordable. She's great with kids, keeping them talking and smiling and posing all while taking photos rapid-fire. Since it was a mini session, I was just hoping for a couple of good shots to use for our Christmas cards. Instead we got so many good ones it was really hard to choose which ones to use! I'm so happy to have these photos and am now fully convinced this is something I need to prioritize annually as my son grows up. She was easy to work with and accommodating, and stayed in touch especially when there was a chance it might rain on our shoot date.
