Two stars for dinner, Three starts for breakfast. Dinner was very nice overlooking the golf course. Beautiful view and classy atmosphere. The prices are on the higher side. The steaks were very fatty, I could only eat 1/4 of mine and my spouse 1/2. Picture shown. I would not return for dinner, however the breakfast was good. Breakfast was included with the room, see picture. Continental and made to order are offered. The food was delicious and service prompt and friendly. I would return for breakfast. read more

Had breakfast here daily while we stayed at the Rusacks. Great views of the first and eighteenth at the Old Course - plus the first day was sun and rainbows ! See my pic. Food was good- had the'Scottish Breakfast' ( kinda like the English Breakfast, with Haggis) Had great service - unlike others. Can't comment on the prices since it was a package deal. Thoroughly enjoyed the five days eating here. Wait staff was attentive and polite. Juices and pastry all very fresh. The haggis, though not the hardcore, old school stomach cooked brew, was delightful and yummy. Overall, I'd like to return and enjoy it again. read more

Are you a tourist looking for a nice place for dinner? This is the perfect place for you. Four of us were in town on business (and a little golf) had dinner here on a Friday night. The woman who owns (or manages or is the sommelier) was spectacular. The chef prepared the dishes with care (the lamb was exceptional, the Chateaubriand was amazing). The view of the 18th fairway of The Old Course was enough to bring me back. Beautiful interior, wonderful service, outstanding food. The whole package in my opinion. You will love it to. read more

Go for the view: great overlook of the 18th hole of the old course. Food was good and deserving of the 3 stars. Service started good but fell off, deserving of 1 star. Ordered a second bottle of wine that took the length of our entire main course to deliver- sent it back. Our Local Friend/Hostess sent her meal back which is really bad form given she made the reservation. read more

What a cluster this whole meal was. It took 5 minutes for someone to even recognize as wanting. Table. Drinks never stayed full. Orders were slow and SMALL portions. She brought our bills in 6 different transactions. This was the worst experience and I couldn't wait to leave. So frustrating for the lovely views out the window. read more

This is the worst place in St Andrews. Do not order the 3 course meal. The main course is very very tiny. The service is not much better.

Food was good, though extremely small portions for the prices. Service was extremely slow, and mixed up on who ordered what, and what sides were ordered. Beverage glasses were not kept full, and one person in our party waited almost half an hour for the drink he ordered. Also took probably 15 minutes for the waitress to split the tickets, and even that was a struggle. The only redeeming quality of this restaurant is the great views of the old St. Andrews course across the street. Other than that, I definitely would not eat here again. read more

Spending our last night of our golf trip, since we were staying at the Rusacks hotel, we decided to have our last dinner here. It overlooks the 18th fairway of the famous Old Course at St Andrews. The food was very good and the service was fine. I would defintely recommend it if you want a fine dinner with a view. A bit pricey, but fine for our last night. read more

We were staying at the Rusack's Hotel during our recent golf excursion to St. Andrews. Rocca came highly recommended by our tour company as having a Michelin rated chef. WELL save your money as they charge way more than is reasonable. This was maybe the worst service and dining experience of my life. To start off the Restaurant manager, a stuffy snot sat us and proceeded to tell us what was not available on the menu. Out of 5 costs of beef only one was available. Then when we asked for beers he proceeded to tell us that only had one that night as their delivery was coming the next day. Then the fun began. We ordered our meals and sides. My brother-in-law asked about the grilled lobster. He was told it would be between 1.5 and 2 pounds. I will say the only thing that was good were the small plates of apps sent out by the chef while we waited. Well we waited and waited and waited. Almost 1 and 3/4 hours later they bring us our entrees. The lobster was only a pound at most and over done. One filet was cooked properly and the other was well over cooked and the lamb was fine. We asked where our sides were and the waiter said they would be right out. 20 minutes later the manager came over and saw that we had eaten out protein but still had no sides. Very matter of factly he said he would go check. He returned in 5 minutes to tell us they were coming at which time we told him to forget it and give us our bill. He returned stating that he took a round of drinks off the tab and did not charge us for the sides. No apology, no anything. He could have cared less. We found a number of great restaurants during our stay with tremendous food and service. Rocca was a rip off. Try Forgan's you will be glad you did. read more
