The service was good, and the marinara sauce was probably the best part of the meal, but unfortunately the food itself was very disappointing. We started with the mozzarella sticks, which were bland and lacked flavor. The ranch tasted like a mass-produced bottled product rather than something made in-house. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken parmesan, which came with fettuccine in a cream sauce instead of marinara on the noodles. The sauce was very bland and lacked depth of flavor. It also didn't taste like it contained Parmesan cheese; instead, it had more of a buttery milk flavor. It could have benefited from garlic, Parmesan, and better seasoning overall. The chicken itself seemed more like a processed chicken patty made from ground and formed chicken rather than a traditional breaded chicken breast. The texture was spongy and the flavor was virtually nonexistent. Overall, the meal gave the impression that most of the food was ordered frozen and simply reheated rather than prepared fresh. For nearly $60, I expected a much higher quality dining experience. The good service wasn't enough to make up for the underwhelming food. read more

Wife asked if she could substitute chicken for the protein on her lunch spaghetti instead of the meat sauce, meat balls, or Italian sausage. Waitress said yes and wrote down the order. It was quite the surprise when we received the bill with $7.99 added for a side of chicken. We were under the impression that it was just subbed for the meat that was no longer included with the spaghetti. Due to the fact that the server did not make us aware it would be an addition $8.00 for substituting chicken instead of the previously mentioned meats, we feel like we were overcharged for a lunch portioned meal that totaled right below $20. Now the food was good, so I was give it 2 stars for that. We used to eat lunch there weekly until the prices went up $2.00 and the portions were cut in half on the lunch specials. We stopped going as often to maybe once every few months. We don't feel like you get what you pay for anymore at the location. My son always got the calzone. He said it's only half the original size as well and cost more. Unfortunately, and I know this by experience in the food service industry, that there is a fine balance on prices to portions to keep customers returning. The balance here is tipped in the wrong direction. We probably won't be returning, at least until we forget the most recent negative experience. I've heard similar from other people as well. Instead of complaining to the server, who doesn't set the prices, my wife said we will just pay and not come back. Come on Rocco...$8.00 for a few slices of grilled chicken breast to substitute for more expensive beef products? It wouldn't sting so bad if there was a warning. read more

I am giving this a two instead of a one, because it is, in a way, incomplete. We had never eaten here, but all three in our party are vegetarian (not vegan) so Italian is a natural choice and we decided to try it. It was a Saturday night so we were concerned they would be busy, but we went anyways. The parking lot was almost empty at 6:30. (This is relatively small town Texas - nobody eats dinner at 8.) We were seated and the waitress arrived immediately behind the hostess to ask for drink orders. I asked for a minute to open the menu. One person in our party prefers beer, and although there was no draft, there were eight bottles listed (four domestic, four imports). Another was most interested in the pizza selection, and read that you can only order 10" pizzas if you dine in, but much larger ones "To Go" - a major disappointment. The waitress returned and we attempted to order a Peroni (Italian beer, of course). They were out. Made another (domestic) selection; out. Then she told us that they only had one (of eight!) beers in stock. At this point, we got up and left. (We wondered what else they would have been "out" of in the food menu?) We were craving Italian on a recent trip to Victoria for business. A quick search brought us to Joe's. We really liked it! The restaurant is bigger than it looks! The service was quick and friendly. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs and my husband had the chicken parmigiana. We also ordered garlic bread which was yummy! The ambiance is nice with the space broken into several different rooms. I understand a corkage fee if you are opening a bottle of wine for me and I am using your glassware, but to charge me $6 to bring in my own can of beer seems a little excessive and unnecessary. Great Italian food. Been here multiple times and I've always had a good experience. You get complementary garlic bread, I suggest spending a couple of bucks and getting the olive oil dipping sauce that has pesto and red pepper in it. It is well worth the two dollars. My daughter got the pepperoni pizza with bell pepper, my wife got a chicken primavera and I got the Stromboli. All were great. There was plenty of food. The chicken Primavera was a very large dish and we had to take some home. The restaurant is clean and neat inside and everyone is very nice and attentive. I recommend trying this restaurant for Italian food it is way, way better than Olive Garden! This is some of the better Italian food I have had in the restaurants I have tried. read more

Joe's came highly recommended to us as an Italian spot. It might be good for those that love one note sauces and loud atmosphere, but we found it to be not our thing. The pasta was cooked well, but the sauces lacked a depth of flavor. If you want this level of Italian food, swing into H-E-B and buy the most expensive jarred sauce and cook it yourself, you will be better off. We were seated promptly, but then forgotten about. Once the person who sat us realized it she took our order for the person who was supposed to be in that section. We want to support local, but this one won't make it on our list. read more

Got lunch specials which came with a side salad and we both decided on house vinaigrette. The problem with that was it tasted more like a weaker cocktail sauce and it was so acidic I could not finish it. We both ordered the chicken del casa and it was okay. I really want to give this place higher ratings but they may want to rethink who they have hired for waitstaff. Our waitress was so rude she was visibly angry with us. I'm sorry if she had a bad day but she slammed our cutlery down, scoffed and sighed as we ordered. When my mom's unsweetened tea came back sweetened we politely asked for it to be corrected when she rolled her eyes and sighed, saying nothing. We were kind of shocked because she very obviously did not want us there. When I ordered a diet coke she just glared at me and walked off. We did end up getting our drinks and food when she wasn't glaring and sighing at us. It was such an unfriendly experience. That said, the pizza was pretty good! My mom ordered cheese and I ordered cheese with olives and jalapenos. I didn't really enjoy the bread brought out in the beginning but that's just my personal preference because my mom really enjoyed it. The menu is pretty big and the place is really big inside with plenty of room and the restrooms were pretty clear as well so it wasn't a search to find them (and they were clean). I would love to give this place five stars but the waitress was awful. She had a horrible attitude, wasn't friendly, and she just seemed like she did not want to be there at all. We ate here on a Saturday evening around 5:30. It wasn't crowded. Our server was very friendly. Our food came very quickly. You get a basket of garlic knots when sit down. They were not very garlicky.. they needed to gave been brushed with a garlic butter or something. The food was hot! And delicious!!!. We had lasagna, manicotti, shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. The only thing that was weird was they left the tails on the shrimp???. The lasagna was nice and cheese. The red sauce is really tasty. We woukd recommend Joe's. I've reserved their back room before for church gatherings. Last time was 22 people. This time it dwindled to 8 last minute due to Covid outbreak. Food is great but the service this time was not. Had a reservation for 5pm. 1. The first to arrive were greeted rudely. They wanted to leave but didn't want last minute change for entire group. And since last time was so good! 2. At 4:50 they wouldn't seat us even though the place was nearly empty. I understand why you have to wait for half your party to arrive when you're busy but this was not the case. We told them we didn't even expect drink orders to be taken. Still no! Manager Amanda explained why but you got to be flexible and accommodating up to a point. 3. A man couldn't order a pizza larger than 10" to eat at the table! Only carry out. He wanted left overs. I've been to lots of places where huge pans are set on the table. And there was protection to not get burnt. 4. We had to beg for refills the entire 2 hours. We were "snubbed" the entire time. 5. The person who paid cash was shorted 1 cent: no biggie. It's the principle. The wait staff doesn't carry cash AND we were told there's no cash in the register up front!! If that's your cash policy, then round to the favor of the customer. Very unprofessional!!! Bad business practice!! 6. We left good tips to show a little appreciation despite our issues. We tried to be Godly and show them kindness anyway. I arrange quarterly outings for our group. I've brought them a lot of business in the past. No one wants to go back; as a group or individually. Very disappointed. read more

This is a great place to get great tasting pasta!! Not only is the food amazing and prepared just the way you want it, but the portions are huge. My wife and I were able to split a dish and get plenty for each of us. The service was excellent from start to finish. We were impressed with the professionalism and attentiveness of our waitress.
