In fact, when I complained of reoccuring pelvic pain following the birth of my son, she took an x-ray of my GI tract and tried to convince me that the pain I was having was gas and stool. Great, except that at the time of the appointment I wasn't having pain so even if there was gas and stool in my intestines, it wasn't painful. However, she wouldn't listen and insisted that I had irritable bowel syndrome. After several visits, at which I was ridiculed and treated in a condescending nature, I switched to a new doctor who was able to appropriately diagnose and treat my non-GI issues. Be warned, she pretends to listen, but creates intestinal fantasies in her head.

Even thou he is knowledgeable in all aspect, if he knows you have an issue that is beyond his expertise...he will refer you to the best specialist in town. My father had thyroid gland issue and he referred him to a specialist that was able to take care of that. I had broken my wrist and he referred me to the best well known orthopedic surgeon that teaches UM Medical students on hand surgery. My point to this is that he will help you at all cost.
