But after speaking to Pete (whom I came across on said bike forum), having him provide all the parts and build up the wheels came in even a tad cheaper!! It was a no brainer to go with Pete. Of course price is not the determining factor of whether you should deal with Pete or not. Pete not only has some excellent pricing for his work, but his customer service levels are next to none. We probably have an email thread going back and forth between us 15-20 times over the course of three weeks. I was initially a little hesitant about custom wheels when we first started talking. This was because I was brand new to the custom wheel world and knew next to nothing about custom wheels. But by the time i put my order in, i was 100% confident I was going to be getting exactly what I was hoping for and needing. Pete spent a lot of time answering all my questions in great detail and i couldn't have asked for anything more. When the wheels arrived, they were packed EXTREMELY well. Seeing the attention to care that went into the packaging of the wheels was quite surprising. Maybe it's because i've never had wheels shipped to me, but regardless, my wheels came out of the box in perfect condition. Flawless. As for the wheels, well, i could not be any happier with them. They came out of the box true and round as can be, and after about 500km so far (i know, not a ton of riding), they are still perfectly round and true.
