I have played at all of the courses in our area and beyond. I've never been turned away because of cargo shorts. And they also told my friend that he has to tuck in his shirt. I always practice good golf etiquette. This was disappointing. I personally willing to pay $100 for a round of golf should not be turned away because of having pockets on the side of their shorts. We as a courtesy skipped a hole and hurried through 2 more. Plenty of Pocono area courses either have bloated pricing or the double-whammy of bloated pricing combined with an older course that has been questionably maintained. Here, none of the above apply. IME, your best play is to go to the website and make a tee-time. The site does not accept payment in advance. Just a tee-time. $35 with no additional taxes or fees after 3pm on a weekday here is a steal. blueridgetrail.com/book-a-tee-time/ Large enough parking lot on site and then you head to the small pro shop to pay. After that, it's over to the cart area, load up and find out where you're playing. Yep, Blue Ridge consists of three nine hole courses and to manage flow, they'll send you where they feel it's best since all carts are GPS monitored, Private Eyes are indeed watching you....and everyone else too. The one small downside to this approach. The pace of play is a bit slower than what it should be. Yes, the pro shop does watch everything and yes, your cart will start showing passive-aggressive notes on the screen if you are behind in pace of play but that's highly relative since overall, you're only as good as what's in front of you and again, they pack the tee-times tight. We played Blue and Ridge which from the whites equals about 6200 yards. Overall beautiful conditions and nice greens even which are fair but tough to make any kind of putts on. Highly picturesque surroundings and next to no brown outs or shit spots on the fairways. A few of the tee boxes were a bit rough (mostly the par 3's) but nothing crazy. Door to door in about 4 hours and 45 minutes for a weekday afternoon. That's a bit slower than I like to play but it is what it is. This is also a course where you will be paired with other people if your party is less than 4. Again, they pack the tee times tight. Overall this place is very nice on it's own and compared to some of the neighboring courses in the area. No problem coming back here in the future. 4.5 rounding up.

The clubhouse sits atop a big hill, and the course meanders around it on all sides. There are many elevation changes, which I like, as you go uphill and them back down hill. A couple of ponds are scattered around the course. Mainly on the front nine holes. The back is much prettier than the front though. The holes range from challenging, to easy. The course was in good shape for the most part. The tees were a bit weedy, but the fairways and greens were fine. So why did I only give it 3 stars you might ask... well, a few reasons..... They don't do the little things to set themselves above other courses. One thing that I noticed. Was that they don"t accentuate their namesake. This place is littered with stone walls, and other natural hardscapes, yet the do nothing to show them off. There is no weed eating around them, planting around them, or anything to just bring your attention to them. I think that's a missed opportunity on their place. On one hole, they mow their name into a grass hillside (see picture). It"s "STONE Hedge" for christ sake. Use some and spell it out on that hill, make it stand out. Maybe some colorful flower plantings around the clubhouse will add a little splash of color to the green area. However, the thing that pissed me off, was that all the water stations I went to were empty. How do you not refill those daily in July?? That's just plain apathetic. If they just wanted to do a little bit more of the little things, they could easily get a 4 or 5 star rating.

The course is beautiful, phenomenal views of the lake and foliage this time time of year. The course is not overly long, but a few dog legs and strategic tree placement makes the course challenging. The country club has a snack bar with sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs etc. There is a full service restaurant with a great chef as I understand. There are tennis courts and many activities.
