The young lady working the pro shop was very nice, as were the bartender. The course could only use 2 improvements. The first one, would be to cut the grass a little shorter. The second one would be to put water stations out on the course. The course is fairly wide open, do you can miss shots and still be in play on the hole. Overall. I had a pretty fun time out there. The course is beautiful, phenomenal views of the lake and foliage this time time of year. The course is not overly long, but a few dog legs and strategic tree placement makes the course challenging. The course is in phenomenal condition, the staff takes amazing care of the course. The country club has a snack bar with sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs etc. There is a full service restaurant with a great chef as I understand. There are tennis courts and many activities. If you have the opportunity to play the course, I highly recommend it.

My friends and…read moreI walk in and the guy at the pro counter tells me I can't play there because I had pockets on the side of my shorts (cargo shorts). I have played at all of the courses in our area and beyond. I've never been turned away because of cargo shorts. And they also told my friend that he has to tuck in his shirt. I always practice good golf etiquette. This was disappointing. I personally willing to pay $100 for a round of golf should not be turned away because of having pockets on the side of their shorts. With love in my heart, for now, I've got to walk this one back a bit…read more While they are trying their best to improve certain aspects of the operation by adding and pushing things like a new simulator and moving the pro shop to it's new (final?) home in the basement on the back side of the main building, what it comes down to for me is the course. There are still too many holes with tee boxes that have been in a modified location for over a year with seemingly no work having been done on where things are supposed to be (12 and 16). Certain greens like 10 are in bad shape - browned out and not fully mowed when we most recently played a few weeks ago. On the topic of mowing, that was semi-lacking as well. Some holes had fairways that more resembled light rough and the rough was well...rough. This course has a lot of character and is excellent if you're someone that likes scenery, a challenge but nothing so hard as to be intimidating, non-muni style courses where the holes just go back and forth because they sure as hell don't here. If you're coming on one of the deal days/times like Tuesday when they charge $30 or Saturday mid-day for a few hours when it's $40 I guess it's a good deal but right now to pay the full freight of $55 or even $70 is really a poor ROI for the playing public.

There are blind turns,…read moreupward shots and straights throughout the course that you have to be precise on where you are trying to hit the ball. The hills are quite challenging because you are hitting blindly if it's your first time here. The one thing about having fairways next to each other is that the ball from another course can get on the one you are playing on. Expect to duck when someone says "FORE!" Adding on, there seems to be a quicker pace of people in groups of four. [gnats will swarm you with no repellent]

What really ticked me off was the fact that they charged me $36 for a 6 pack of High Noon. Now I understand that they are more expensive and they gotta turn a profit, but when you have 50 golfers playing in a tournament you know they are going to drink. That's just taking advantage of the situation. You figure they buy them for $2.25 a can. So they are making $3.75 a can. That's ridiculous. And they had the nerve to say we give a discount off the can price for 6 packs of beer only. Get lost. $72 for a 12 pack of High Noon when I just payed $85 to play your course and get fed shitty food. Just robbery and not cool etiquette.
