Coming from Los Angeles, CA and Jupiter, FL, this course has everything I don't normally see. I had a ton of fun playing here. Was a very tough course with plenty of changes in elevation, gorgeous views, very fun and well designed holes/pin placements. The greens were in phenomenal shape. Fast and very tricky. People had been telling me how awesome this course was, so I had to go check it out. I have to say that its placement is pretty cool. The clubhouse sits atop a big hill, and the course meanders around it on all sides. There are many elevation changes, which I like, as you go uphill and them back down hill. A couple of ponds are scattered around the course. Mainly on the front nine holes. The back is much prettier than the front though. The holes range from challenging, to easy. The course was in good shape for the most part. The tees were a bit weedy, but the fairways and greens were fine. So why did I only give it 3 stars you might ask... well, a few reasons..... They don't do the little things to set themselves above other courses. One thing that I noticed. Was that they don"t accentuate their namesake. This place is littered with stone walls, and other natural hardscapes, yet the do nothing to show them off. There is no weed eating around them, planting around them, or anything to just bring your attention to them. I think that's a missed opportunity on their place. On one hole, they mow their name into a grass hillside (see picture). It"s "STONE Hedge" for christ sake. Use some and spell it out on that hill, make it stand out. Maybe some colorful flower plantings around the clubhouse will add a little splash of color to the green area. However, the thing that pissed me off, was that all the water stations I went to were empty. How do you not refill those daily in July?? That's just plain apathetic. If they just wanted to do a little bit more of the little things, they could easily get a 4 or 5 star rating. read more

This is a solid little course for NE PA. The course has some nice rolling hills, the front nine is long and open and the back nine is a little more tight and narrow. Several holes have blind tee shots and there is some elevation change on many of the holes, both up and down hills. Several holes have quite a drive from the previous green to the next tee and their carts do leave a little bit to be desired. A couple unique holes as well, par 36 on the front and 35 on the narrow and shorter back 9. 6644 yards from the tips. I play this course about once a year when up visiting my parents i nthe area. read more

The owner is rude and apparently not interested in keeping customers. Employee tried to ring up our foursome, when I handed him our discount card that I have used numerous times at this course, he told me Idk how to use that. The owner comes out and says that "I don't accept that during the fall". Really? Employee then rings up my foursome (3 of us at that time) on my card. I asked if they could reverse so we could pay separately, Owner says "it's ok, your buddies can give you the cash". Unreal customer service there people. Our 4th comes in to pay and he had a current $10 coupon. You guessed it, Owner says I can't accept that in the fall. Coupon clearly states that it is good for 2014. Pathetic! It's actually a shame. I like the course but this fool has lost my business for good. I play with a lot of people and I will be sure to let them know how unhappy I am with this facility. read more

A very complete golf course. You get everything here: long holes, fun par 3's, nice hills, and a lot of typical NEPA terrain. The back 9 is a lot tighter than the front nine, be advised. The views are gorgeous, especially in the fall. The clubhouse is very nice as well; they have a couple bars and a nice restaurant. Staff is very friendly. The only advice I can give is to bring a lot of balls, because you will likely lose some. I would definitely come back here to play. read more

Great course always in great condition. Now with the new clubhouse and restaurant place is better. Food is outstanding downstairs has the lunch and bar type food. Upstairs has bar and dining room with very good food. Not cheap but very good fine dining. New menu has a good mix. I got the golf and dinner special for $50 includes round of golf, cart and free entree excluding Lobster. I had a huge Delmonico Steak and ate it out on the deck overlooking the mountains and course. Only con is no draft beer but they do have a very big beer selection. read more

I went during Christmas for the light show and it was horrible (not the light show) the wait to get there was slow and painful and took about 1-1 1/2 hours for about a 15-20 min ride of looking at lights not worth the wait. The lights were cool but the price is a lil pricy $25 a car. read more

Agree with Christopher T's review. However, I give it an additional star. Well maintained, friendly staff, great prices (would pay a heck of a lot more in the Philly/NJ area for a course like this). Hope to play this course again on my next visit to the area. read more

I enjoyed playing at this course several times a year but after my experience there today, I'll never go back. Play wise the course isn't too bad except for the pitcher mound-like tee boxes (Hint to superintendent: Tee boxes are supposed to be flat). But what did me in was the rude and pompous person I met in the pro shop. The sad part is this person was apparently the owner. I can't believe this man has a business. Though I'm very certain if this is how he runs a business and treats customers it won't be long before the course turns into a cow pasture. I voiced my displeasure about my experience in the pro shop to a female worker after our round. She was very nice and said "yeah he's not very good with the public". This is what you'll be dealing with if you go there folks. Good luck. I'm sure there are plenty of other courses in the area that will appreciate the extra business. read more

Come see their course again. They have built a large club house with banquet facilities too. Local Rotary clubs using it for fundraising.

They obviously put all the money into the club house instead of the course. The greens are the worst I have ever seen...fast and unrealistic greens with crazy steep slopes, horrible, small and unlevel tee-boxes and the worst cart paths you will ever see. This is all topped off by a huge increase in price. No way is it worth almost 50 bucks. - wouldn't pay more than 20. read more
