Chose these folks after reading reviews here, spoke to Ellie a couple times, went down there, ordered a bunch of soil, garden mix, St. Augustine. The next day I called and totally changed the order, deleting a bunch of topsoil, etc. Glenn, who had taken my order, made the change over the phone with aplomb. Then the next day we had several conversations about what the order was, and I began to wonder if I'd made a mistake, but an hour later all the dirt arrived. But then there was concern about the 1.5 pallets of grass, and I began to wonder some more. At the end of the day, Glenn called to make sure I got the message that the right amount of grass would be delivered on the right day. And the next morning, uh, wait, there's an 18-wheeler out front with two pallets of grass! A. G. P.'s supplier had gotten their signals mixed and delivered all the grass to me, instead of taking it to the A. G. P. yard. Called Glenn, and he said "just keep it, sorry for all the hassles and mixups." And the rest of the dirt I had called back and ordered showed up a while later. Instead of keeping the extra half pallet of grass, I suggested the driver take it back, since I hadn't paid for it. Here's the bottom line: for a couple of days I thought I'd grabbed the tar baby. But in the end, A. G. P. handled everything not only with professionalism but with superb customer service. I dealt with five different people, and all five were pleasant, courteous, hard working, and anxious to bend over backwards to make me, the customer, happy. Here's a tip: have your grass delivered on Wednesdays; it gets cut on Tuesdays, and you'll have the freshest possible product. I live in north Austin; I'm really, really glad I went all the way to A. G. P. (they acted like I live in Abilene...good-naturedly) to get my lawn stuff. There's nothing negative I can think of to say. Five stars for sure. read more

These guys are great. Always pleasant to talk to. They do their best to take care of you efficiently and at the same time be thorough. They explain the details of the products they offer if you ask. They will help you figure out what is the best product for your purpose and don't try to upsell you into something you don't need. They are on time and incredibly nice. My wife and I went in looking to get some paver stones and sand to do some walkways in our garden. We were greeted by one of the guys who walked us through our options, where they came from and some tips on laying them down. He was friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. We had 2 tons of rock and sand dropped off 1 foot from our garage and with the rented wheelbarrow we were able to get everything into our backyard in just under an hour. Laying everything down is taking a bit longer but that's the fun part. We'll definitely be back for sod this winter/spring and might even be back for some more pavers if our estimates were off! I've been needing a lot of stone, dirt, sand, gravel, grass, and mulch on my nearly from-scratch bare lot over the last couple of years and am getting to the end of what I need for the front. I've used a few stone yards and they've all been fine. Enter AGP Rock N Dirt. I never knew that visiting a landscaping supply yard could be so pleasant. Immediate, but not pushy, customer service greeted us when we drove into the lot. The premises were south Austin beautiful, with lots of nice shade trees and excellent viewable product. The prices are great and on par with the least expensive suppliers in the area. The stone is of such quality that it almost seems hand picked. They have an excellent staff that helped us find our stone, load it, and checked us out almost as fast as we drove in. Really friendly folks, too. A very pleasant experience. I have one last batch of stone I need to purchase to match what I got from another supplier, but besides that, I'll use AGP for all of my needs. read more

Roy was fantastic. I called on the afternoon of July 2nd, needing a small amount of both rock and top soil. Roy explained how I could satisfy both needs with one truck delivery. Then the hard part... I needed the delivery by July 3rd. Rock-N-Dirt was "slammed" for deliveries ahead of the July 4th holiday, but Roy offered to pay his driver overtime to make the delivery late on July 2nd. When the truck arrived, the driver was excellent. He carefully dumped the rock first and kept the dirt pile separate from my rock. Outstanding!!! read more

Within 48 hours these guys were able to; take my order, dig sod out of the ground at a farm, pack it onto a pallet and ship it to their yard, load it onto a trailer along with a very generous cubic yard of mulch, drive it to my doorstep, unload it neatly on time and without fuss. I didn't place a large order, but I feel like I was treated the same as they would a well paying customer. The quality of both the sod and the mulch were excellent. I will be using these guys for all future landscaping projects I have, and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

We did not have a good experience with them We ordered 11 yards of crushed granite. They made the delivery. Talked with the delivery guy - no mentioning this wasn't the whole order, talked with a lady in the morning - no mentioning that this wasn't the whole order being delivered. My husband got home - looked at the dirt and knew it wasn't 11 yards. Measured the dirt - cubic yard. They delivered 6 yards of dirt. Called and called them out - they delivered the remaining 5 yards. read more

I was looking for decorative rocks for my flower beds and these guys delivered on all accounts. Friendly staff and owners. They helped me choose the right rock and accurately estimate what I needed. Delivery was a bit of an extra charge since Round Rock is so far from the location, but the reasonable price for the product more than made up for this charge. Delivery was timely and the driver was very skilled at getting the truck up a sloped driveway and dumping the stone without exactly onto the tarp. Thank you for a great experience! read more

If I could give these folks 10 stars, I would! I've been a customer of theirs multiple times for all sorts of projects. The staff is always super friendly, very helpful, and even willing to help you pick out specific river Rock for your pet tortoise's enclosure! If you are doing a bigger job, they offer delivery if needed, but with smaller jobs, you can always pull your car or truck up, and they will help you load up! Prices are so reasonable and the staff is really just exceptional! Today I stopped in for a few more small river rocks, as I am horrible with measurement apparently, and the Rock N Dirt Yard rocked my world and let me head out without any charges! I don't know if they remembered me from previous trips, or if they really love the story of Tortellini the tortoise, but it meant a lot to us!! This place may not look like much from the highway, but it's got all the basics you might need for stone/rock projects--pavers, river rock, boulders, etc. Very helpful staff, knowledgeable and warm, and their delivery fee is half what other places charge. Eli helped me hand-select specific pavers to use as stepping-stones in my garden, lifting out stone after stone from a pallet so I could select specific ones, and the order arrived within days exactly as scheduled and ordered. These guys are really great! I ordered garden bed soil from them and had it delivered early Saturday morning. It's so nice not to have to make separate trips to pick up soil in a truck when you can have multiple yards delivered all at one for a really reasonable delivery fee.
