I always make a point to stop here when I visit Austin. They have a wide, beautiful selection with healthy plants and friendly prices. Walking through the grounds always feels restorative, and the place is much bigger than you would expect. East Austin Succulents is a must-visit for plant lovers.

This nursey has THE most expansive collection of succulents I have EVER seen! - mini sucs, giant sucs, weird sucs, cheap sucs, rare sucs, you name it! Succulents for every budget and taste! We bought the awesome-est lil succulent tree dude, they even potted it for us - and got to choose pretty colored stones to pot it with :) It was a $20 for the pot, $8 for the succulent, and $5 for the potting fee. You can tell the staff REALLY knows their succulents, and are so passionate about caring for these lil guys!

The little oasis in East Austin is an institution for good reason - they have the broadest selection of succulents for the best prices, and the most friendly and knowledgeable staff to help you keep them alive (or non-judgmentally replace them, as I periodically do). I brought my pretty pink cactus (unknowingly spray painted by Home Depot, go figure) looking for some friends, and found the perfect pot from Tillery, neighboring lovelies among EAS greenhouses, then Joaquina potted and packaged it up in the prettiest way, no pokes included! Sad story, my perfect pot tumbled over on the drive home and I made it back slightly after close. Still, Sonia hung late to provide me with more gravel & tips for re-potting & tools to keep my lovelies alive. This team is really wonderful - knows all the ins- and outs- about their plants and passionate about their work & customers too. An absolute joy to visit & learn to cultivate!

Cute succulents and a cute cat pot!

Amazing selection of plants plus some cool garden art (my biggest purchase was a metal horny toad ) plus if you spend over $40 I think it is you get to spin the wheel and I won two mini succulents! I totally needed more plants The staff was also very friendly and easy to ask questions of.

I love this place! I did not know this wonderful place existed but discovered it due to Instagram. Parking is a bit of a challenge so I parked across the street. There are so many options and various sizes. I spent $50 ordering the same amount of plants from Etsy and these are better. Such a great spot.

pots all bought there. top right plant also purchased there.

This place exceeded all my expectations. A huge number of plants, you could probably get lost in their garden. I loved how many small plants they had, with many being under $5. The star of the show for someone who likes to propagate plants was the many small pots they had for very low prices. They look like they have be reused or had mistakes with printing, but that really wasn't a concern for me. I spent about $40 and got a succulent, dirt, and 5 pots. I cannot wait to come back! (Once I have room for more plants...). The person who checked us out was so kind, and as we were leaving I overheard talk of cats. Another worker told me some of their hiding spots, and we did indeed find one. Bathroom isn't attached and a little hard to find, but we were happy they had one.

I picked a combination succulent, a lovely potting bowl, and a stegosaurus accent. Because my purchase was over $40, I was able to spin the wheel for a prize. I received a free additional succulent from the Buddha section and the lady at the counter was happy to add it to my combo. She repotted it for me in my new bowl and added pretty rocks of my choice. The whole experience was very pleasant. My friend and I look forward to returning.

I've probably been coming here for over 5 years and it's grown to be better and better. If you want a super chill knowledgeable staff and the plant choices by the thousands and all the cutest pots and rocks and landscape ornaments you need for your life come here! They're local and just the best all around. For $5 you pick your plants and pots and stones and they assemble for you for a gift or whatever! It's the most unique gifting experience ever. Like mine below. I picked everything they assembled for me.

Over priced and over hyped. Staff also follows you around while you shop and reply arrogantly to questions.

I love the selection at this nursery, but I tend to come here to window shop because the prices are quite steep.

They have many beautiful plants and they are placed so lovely, it's like walking through a garden. They have a very large parakeet area where they have rescued parakeets. They have a beautiful turtle with pond that is the size of a pool and the turtles are currently having babies! There's herbs, there's perennials, there's annuals. There are Texas native plants. The nursery is surrounded by beautiful large trees. Their shaded plants are shaded under the shade of these beautiful large trees. I truly enjoyed myself. The people who work there are so helpful and kind. I asked lots of questions and they never got tired of answering or smiling. Their prices are medium, you can probably find some herbs and plants for less money, but you get what you pay for here. Their plants are an excellent condition and very well cared for. I bought a Sago palm, a chamomile, and an Italian parsley. I highly recommend you visit!

Most likely you'll first park your vehicle, then walk in the main entrance with its grand rustic signage. Perhaps you might miss the rope swing to your left, and instead you might be drawn to the rows of plants on your right. You might snake in further to under the tarp covered area. Or perhaps you'll venture inside the building at the front. You might check out their aviary, try to find their two tortoises, turtles, or admire their pottery selection. If you go in far enough, lights string themselves between trees towering above you. If you go all the way back, you'll find a sheltered greenhouse area with some neat displays. In the fountain area, water will be aerated, and alligator heads will float around. You might go around reading signage describing various plants, how they can be used, conditions in which they thrive, or how they drip irrigate their nursery plants. Some signs suggest they can source plants for you if needed. You might encounter the friendly people running the place who'll explain to you how everything works. But other, it's a nice e area to walk around. Across the other side of the parking lot, they have a museum set up inside a large garage. Entry to this nursery is free, but if you're looking to buy a plant, you can grab a cart, find your selection, and then bring it over to one of the checkout stations that they have setup. Otherwise, there is plenty of space to walk around and explore.
