At the 12 mile mark !
    Ashish D.

Just ran the Brooklyn RnR half and I must say it was an awesome experience, from the time I signed up, they sent me regular updates. Collecting the bib was very easy and also very well organized. I reached the venue at the allocated time and there were stations at every mile. There were lots of volunteers to help if you needed it. I did see lots of G I stations periodically, which I think is an important thing to have while running marathons. The finish area was pretty much cordoned off, but people could cheer as we ran to the finish line once we entered Prospect park. There was a finish festival, where you collected your medals, Gatorade and things to eat and drink from the sponsors, which was nice. This was my first half so I don't have a ton of experience, but I truly enjoyed it. Would highly recommend. October makes it so much easier to run as well.

Smiling & sprinting through the finish. LAST MILE!

I didn't love this course, especially the last 5k, rigging straight up the hill, while dodging park goers.

I attended this huge street fair this year in 2026 and had a great time. The weather was…read moreexceptionally hot but we still walked up and down the fair from start to finish. It was very crowded but we were able to walk around and check out the local vendors. They had some local entertainment for the children and adults. There was every type of food you can imagine. We opted for a Mexican restaurant (Fatty Daddy) so we could sit down and eat in the AC, lol. I bought some little "Brooklyn" souvenirs and some sweets. I actually enjoyed this fair better than "Atlantic Antic" because it wasn't overly crowded. Definitely something I would check out again.

I typically hate NYC street fairs, but the Fifth Avenue lived up to its name!…read more Unlike some other fairs, where it's all the same sausage and peppers on every block, the Fifth Ave Fair puts a big emphasis on local businesses, with most of the food options coming from those storefronts! There was also a live band, lots of random stuff to buy (mostly jewelry and clothes). I set up station by the Letter of Marque Theater space and watched/participated in some awesome soundpainting and improv performances! Go support them! Also devoured a ton of pizza, and had more than a few beers from Nunu Chocolates. I love drinking in public! The fair also extended pretty far down! From almost Flatbush all the way down to the numbered streets!

I'm not a runner…read more No. I'm one of those people who wear fancy workout clothes and get out of breath after a minute of "running". So why did I sign up for this? I wanted a fancy medal! Of course, the one year that I signed up for this, they decided NOT to give out medals and to give out tech T-shirts instead. I guess I'll wear my tech tshirt instead of a medal while training for my next race. It was pretty cool running past the unisphere, museum, fountain (which did not run this year -- what, are they getting cheap with water too?!). Mile 1. This is good. I'm gonna keep running. Yeah. I'm almost at mile 2. Mile 2. Okay I did a mile. I'm gonna slow down a bit. Yeah. Mile 3. Why did I sign up for this again? Oh right, the medal. Yes. I've done 5Ks before, I can do this. Mile 4. LALALALALALALALALALALA Mile 5. Wait. Am I done with mile 5 or did I just start it? Where am I? I'm so confused. HEY THEY'RE PLAYING MY JAM!!! (Backstreet boys) Mile 6. I'M DONE I'M DONE I'M DONE!!!! Where the heck is the finish line?!?!?!? Oh... 10K is 6.2 miles... WHY IS THIS 0.2 MILES SO LONG!!!!!! Finish line. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm not doing this again. ........Who am I kidding, I'll sign up again next year.

This is a good race in an under-appreciated NYC park. The 2013 race was a lot of fun and the…read moretemperature was even a little cooler this year. I even turned in my fastest competitive 10K time, ever. One of the downsides is the ever increasing overcrowding issue that plagues these runs. It's a little annoying to be bumped into by many people. Give me some space, man. Another issue (my take) is not having the first water station right after the 1 mile marker. I think this should be a must, especially during what is probably the hottest run of the year. But overall, I like this fast and mostly flat run. Glad I ran it today and did well.
