I needed a projector for an event and heard that they had such things. I also heard on KUT that there was a new location a little closer to me. Sounds like a match made in heaven ;) The manager greeted me when I came in the door and gave me a full tour of the store and even told me about the antique garage doors that they found encased in brick from when the building was a grocery store a gabillion years ago and are now using as display walls. The store was brand new (I'm pretty sure they had just opening it the previous week), so there were some glitches. The computer system was tied remotely to the south store and so there was a lag in the checkout process. But everyone was friendly and I felt no frustration at all as they assured me that they were making things work with the new location. Got home and tested the projector with my laptop; we are a go! All in all a good experience so far. Unless they call me nasty names when I return the equipment, they've earned their five stars :D read more

Duuuuuude. These guys saved our butts in several ways. Friendly, knowledable staff. We had just left a PA rental place that had our SX rig on hold for a month. We got there and the rental fee was over $5600 for a mid-sized PA Barringer X32 and bac-kline. Dejected we headed straight to Rock and Roll north very close by. The gentlemen helped us right away and got us a very similar sized system (Barringer X16, we did not even need the X32) for 10x's less for a whole week. The board for Barringer X32 sells for $2200.00 ! GO with a name you can trust in this town that won't take advantage and gouge you: ROCK AND ROLL RENTAL ROCKS !!! So easy and great customer service. My kids started taking guitar lessons; one quit, the other stayed with the lessons after 3 months (you really have to give them the opportunity to try and then say no if they have no interest after they legit try) . The monthly rental process is seamless as they prorate so you aren't losing out or having to calculate. Super great service, high quality products. read more

Walked in at 6:55pm, I know not the most considerate but still they say open till 7:00 and I wanted to rent some PA equipment for a company event and that was the quickest I could get off work. I walked in and apologized for my walking in during business hours, and the not very nice(I would use other words but I'm trying to be professional) lady and gentleman at the front door said "are you doing a return?" I said no, and again was apologetic of their time but did get there before they closed. I was told that they couldn't do it because of the time. I said I understand and offered her $100.00 cash to help compensate for the inconvenience. At that time she rolled her eyes and said "Give me your ID, and if your account is not current we can't lease to you." Fortunately, my account is current. I also attempted to pay the person on the side because again, I get it. After she continued to be extremely disrespectful, I decided to take my ID and my business elsewhere. I rent from Rock and Roll rental four times a year. Not the biggest client, but I lease enough. My issue is this, Rocking Roll Rental, please don't market that you are open till 7:00pm, as I could have just stayed home and not fought traffic for 30 minutes to get to your store only to be shunned by two employees. Perhaps, you should have a caveat that says open till 7:00 for returns, and issuing rentals until 6:30. This way you can hold up to your name and actually rent to customers when they show up during business hours. read more

I do announcing for some of the races around Central Texas, but not enough to justify buying a full system. Musician friends strongly recommended Rock n Roll Rentals, and they've never let me down. The prices are great, the staff is always friendly, even when I come flying in last-minute, and they'll help me when I'm not sure what equipment would be the best fit for a situation. And, as a dabbling musician, it's fun to be able to rent a variety of great equipment to try out, including... a keytar. Which hopefully doesn't invalidate my opinion... read more

One employee specifically, David, is exceptionally nice when I visit and even remembers me and what I rented when I last came by. He is knowledgeable, personable, and extremely helpful. He talks me through my options based on price point and I never feel looked down on for my budget restrictions or confusion about certain products. Great equipment and service from this rental company. My friend initially picked them because they were around the corner from her house. For the record, we were renting equipment for her upcoming wedding. Although the initial estimate and deposit were very high, I was able to convince the manager that we knew what we were doing, and they in turn lowered the deposit for us to better fit the wedding budget. For both the pickup and return, we were helped by Evan. He was professional on all counts from start to finish. I would highly recommend working with him if you're renting from here. read more

The prices are fair for rentals but there is one cashier in particular (who is frequently working) who is horribly rude. Went in with a friend today to schedule a rental and this guy's terrible customer service steered us out before he could even get my friend's card info. He kept repeating "We don't do that here" or "That's not how we do things here" even though my friend had worked with them before, several times, and sometimes with the manager. Would definitely rather spend a little more money renting somewhere else, where employees are at least somewhat pleasant and helpful, than deal with horrible service on the front end here. Ridiculous. I've heard that the other location is better in regards to customer service but never again will I try this one. read more

It really is a shame. This company has the best selection of equipment and their prices for their rentals are fair, but they make up for it by treating you like dirt. I've met the owner and he is an absolutely wonderful man. He has just surrounded himself with distasteful employees. I have been told over the phone (multiple times) that a unit was being held to the side for me, only to come in and be spoken to in a demeaning way stating "we don't do that here" On top of that, while in store, I've heard other employees say over the phone "we will set that aside for you and you can come in anytime today" only to have said client come in confused why their unit wasn't set aside. BUT THIS ISNT EVEN THE PROBLEM. There is a particular employee (I will shamelessly describe him for your protection: ALWAYS wears a hat and has round metal wire framed glasses) who frankly tells client misinformation and does absolutely ZERO to be helpful. During my last and FINAL experience with Rock N Roll Rentals, while in trying to figure out the pricing on 3 units of comparable quality. All I wanted to know was the pricing and was informed I had to fill out an incredibly invasive personal background check of sorts. During this time of filling out paperwork I overhear a lady complaining about a certain amount of electrical "hum" she was getting through the cable. The lady was smart. the lady knew all the specs and capacities and housing thickness of the XLR and TRS cables she rented, and the wire framed glasses "boy" told her she was wrong. (she was right) She sounded college educated in the field for she knew things I had also learned in college (basically just not some hum drum off the street). He has the Gaul to give wrong information, and that alone should require being let go. ANYWAY after listening to him berate this intelligent woman, I had filled out my paperwork and gave it to him, at which time he asked for my ID and CREDIT CARD (mind you, I still don't know what I'm spending let alone of I want to) I hand him both items without even thinking and I ask "What are the prices of the three units over there" to which he replies in an unbearably aggressive tone "you didn't look it up online?" I told him no and thats why I was in the store in the first place. he told me to just go look at them and see for myself, which I do, to which there is no pricing labelled anywhere. I come back over to him again saying I just want to know the price of the units and instead of trying to see to my super simple request as a customer, he snaps at me and tells me he has to get my account started. I DO NOT WANT TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT IM GETTING INTO. So naturally, after having heard him be absolutely degrading to that woman, and treating me like I was inept for wanting to know prices up front I grabbed my ID and credit card and (unfortunately) stormed out of the store. IT FEELS LIKE A SCAM when you need my personal information before letting me know what I'm getting into financially. I will never set food in Rock N Roll Rentals as long as that employee is still on their payroll, which is a shame because I do a lot of theater work and our orders are usually HUGE. For those of you how made it through this whole complaint, you should just head on over to Loudmouth Rentals. Their couple extra bucks on their prices are more than worth the kindness, ease, and absolute respect you get from them. read more

I gave them one star for the refund. We needed two screens and two speakers for a company meeting. That's all. First a phone call - yes we have, you have to come in with actual credit card to reserve. Second an actual visit to store - no, you have to come here only on the day you want to get the items I can't help you today and we don't deliver or pick up. Third another visit to actual store - pick up items and back to office. BEHOLD - the screens THAT WILL BE USED TO DISPLAY a visual presentation on them are dirty and smelly. Hard for audience to see a clear image if projected on dirt. Fourth a call for help - do you have other screens to swap out - no, can you suggest anywhere else that might - nope. ZERO ownership of sending out crap product, no offer to replace or assist with fixing the issue - a complete lack of any type of customer service. Fifth yet another trip by us to their store to bring back the screens 'for cleaning'. Oh look - we did clean them - they won't get any nicer. We never shared that with you in phone call or on-site pre-rental - we just let you haul this substandard product back and forth. Call to TSV Sound and Video - replacement items ready in time it took us to leave this hellhole and get to their place. Beautiful product and they picked up from us. Price wasn't the issue - quality was and Rock N Roll Rentals failed at every step in providing even mediocrity customer service. read more

What a gem! I love coming here and getting the rock star treatment every time. Staff is knowledgable and friendly, and not afraid to offer help even if it's not their area of expertise. Renting PAs for DJ gigs can be a pain, but these folks make it hassle-free. I'm always amazed with how cheap monthly rentals can be too. Originally when I returned several rolls of unused tape, I was told there would be a restocking fee to do so. I didn't take it up with the employee at the time because he was being difficult to begin with and contacted the store afterwards on social media. Within 72 hours management contacted me and refunded the restocking fee. Despite the situation starting out negatively, the store stepped up and made it right in the long run. I shop local for a reason and appreciate Rock n Rental working this out. read more

Rock n Roll Rentals has the best prices and best service from knowledgeable and helpful staff. We rented from Rock n Roll rentals for a small band that played at our wedding reception. The band had sent a list of items they would need for amplification for their performance; I had no idea what half the items on the list even were! I showed the list to one of the guys at Rock n Roll Rentals and he went through it for me, line by line, to put together a quote for the rental. He also taught me how to hook up the system to a computer or iPod so that we could play our own music once the band ended. I went today to set up an account (which you need to do to rent equipment.) I have to say, it was quick and easy. It was even easier than renting a bounce house. On a serious note, I wish I had gotten the name of the employee who helped me. Very friendly personality and then helped to make sure I understood how to use the equipment.
