Been here several times.. each time hoping the next visit is better than the last. Nope. Each time we've gone - the waitresses hangout by the end of the bar talking, playing, texting, dancing, etc. Have to ask the waitresses several times for something, and they walk around like they're stoned and it takes forever to get something. Not sure if the manager is, but there is always a guy that stands behind the bar just talking to the waitresses - he's made eye contact several times seeing that our glasses are empty, waiting for check and to go box.. nothing. I feel like I need to stand up and wave my arms like HELLO? Mind you each time there have only been like 5 ish tables full when we go. I came by one Saturday afternoon with a friend for lunch and was reminded why I quit coming to this location years ago. The food is wonderful, but the service is nonexistent. I will not come back. While we were there the wait staff did just about everything but tend to the customers. One of them dropped a tray full of dishes and food and just walked away from about half of it. They finally came back to pick up the rest, but never came back to clean or mop what was spilled on the floor. First time in one. The decor is guitars and concert photos. The walls are primarily black I guess it supposed to mimic a club or convert venue. With the name you know they are going to have rock music playing over the sound system and music videos on the big screen. The music was at a background level so your knew it was there and you could recognize old favorites and ear words but it wasn't over powering Let me start the food review with the admission I am not a Sushi connoisseur but do eat it on occasion, sticking primarily to more traditional rolls. When I arrived it looked like they were recovering from a rush and the service was a bit unorganized at first but that ironed out quickly as Serenity swept in and took charge. . I started with jalapeño poppers and a more traditional Asian starter Gyoza or potstickers on their menu. The gyoza were fried and had a slight crunch as you bit into them. Just the way I like them. I don't like them soggy or limp. Jalapeño poppers were a nice surprise. Jalapeño halved filled with cream cheese and "crab" with a tempura breading and fried. The jalapeños had a mild amount of heat but we're very tasty. After a bit of self discussion I opted not to go my traditional route and tried the fried VIP roll. Usually with traditional rolls I can taste individual ingredients in the roll. If I had a complaint about the VIP it would be that I couldn't. It was still very good. It a change for me. The flavors all flowed together and other than identifying some of the ingredients were shellfish it was hard identify them. It all flowed very well. Heading home to Illinois from Florida. Always try to stay at Home 2 suites. It was a special anniversary for us but didn't want to drive far after driving all day. We decide to try this place close to the hotel. Ambiance not great but the music was not that loud for old people. Service excellent our waiters Syed was awesome. We both ordered the steak and lobster came with a Ceasar salad. Great choice! Our waiter so sweet he learned it was or anniversary he bought us a drink. How often does happen? I visited this location with my wife, and my food was burnt. I asked the waitress if I could get something else her response was "if you had of said something sooner, you could have ". I had a blank stare because excuse me??? She took the plate and brought me a receipt. I asked about the food I ordered to replace it. She said oh they won't allow me to do it. Excuse? So I'm suppose to pay for the food I did not eat. She said basically but we have you a discount. And if you have a problem with it, my general manager is on the way. I waited another 25 mins waiting on him. He approaches and was very hostile. Then he said , first of all you either take it or not because my staff said you've been rude. We exchanged words, he then slapped the table and told me to get out of his restaurant. I said gladly, then he blocks the door and said never mind. Call the police. The police came and Michael requested I be trespassed for failing to pay my bill. I kept explaining I would pay, just not for my food because I didn't eat. I would pay for my fiancée food. They asked the police to press charges on me for theft of services for $28. This was by far the worst experience I ever had and would not recommend this place to a dog. I really thought this location would be different than the Huntsville location. Unfortunately what we found was a ton of fried options. Mostly each roll is the same and mostly all are cooked, which I've always felt was a cop out at sushi indicating not the best quality or understanding of melding flavors. We ordered a couple of the fresher rolls on the menu not sauced or baked or slathered in tempura and fried. They were both bland and semi warm..which is deeply concerning when talking raw fish. The fish didn't taste good by itself. So I feel pretty confident that the thought about a place that has almost entirely fried is hiding sub quality. The table next to us also was saying the same about bad fish to the waitress. Wish I had spoken up. We did the appetizer sampler - I know, all fried. The wontons were great, the rest was subpar. My daughter feels sick after eating one of each of the sampler items :/ BUT that is on us as we do not eat fried foods.. Sad that we tried this location and it was the same disappointment as Huntsville, though. Our waitress was nice, she did talk to someone about the fish and got mine taken off which was amazing! They confirmed it was a new crab distributor, I guess the fish itself is just bland idk. The atmosphere is fun, we got to laugh at the funny 80s hair styles on the music videos. The sushi rolls are very tasty and I like the variety of rolls available. Great selection of cocktails, beers, and sake. The prices are a little higher than some other sushi places but the quality is still there. If you are looking for a quiet place to eat, you might need to rethink going here. I've sampled many of the things on the menu. The crab wontons are delicious and a favorite with my kids. I also really enjoy the headbanger shrimp, which is fried shrimp drizzled in a sweet and spicy cream sauce, and the tuna tataki, which is seared red tuna drizzled with different sauces. My favorite roll, hands down, is the Beatles Roll. I love eel, and this roll has shrimp tempura, crab, cream cheese, and cucumbers on the inside and then is topped by eel, smoked salmon, and avocado. Came here for dinner, and it wasn't too busy so we got seated immediately. Service was a little slow, it was hard to get our waitress' attention, but since we sat at the bar we just asked the sushi chef for what we needed. We ordered Sakerita & Baewatch drinks, which both tasted great. The Tuna Twister appetizer looked impressive, and there was a substantial amount of fish. The sauce accompanying it was very tasty and the creaminess of the avocado was a nice touch. I ordered the Scorpion roll, which tasted very fresh and light. It was a little difficult to pick up without having the roll fall apart but I persevered and managed to make it work without eating like a total savage. There was only one table available when we got there and few seats at the bar. Even though are table was the 2nd to last table in restaurant, every time the door opened, we could feel a cold rush. Would have hate to have been seated towards the front. We opted to start with the appetizer sampler so we could try multiple items. That was a good choice! But there was so much food, that by the time our sushi came, we were both kinda full! As an MJ fan, when I saw his name on the menu - I had to try that roll! It was completely fried (which was interesting), but after having an appetizer that was all fried, it was a double whammy for my tummy! Ha! We were intrigued by dessert, but the waitress just brought us the check, so she helped make our decision for us! Food presentation could have been better. We wanted something different, and my friends love this place, so we decided to stop in and give it a try. It was PACKED. We grabbed the last table, although there were a few bar seats still left open. People who came in after us had to wait for seats to open. Glad we got there when we did. Also, due to it being so crowded, the noise level was pretty loud. The appetizer sampler was a great deal and let us try the wontons, egg rolls, and jalapeno poppers. I was a fan of the wontons and poppers. My wife had the Michael Jackson roll, and I had the Japanese Bagel roll. Mine was good, but a little small, so I'm glad I had the appetizers beforehand. My wife's was good, but I wasn't a fan of the spicy mayo on the roll, which kinda took over and dominated the taste of the roll. It would have been great without it! Working in the service industry, customer service takes a huge part in a review.... Although the food was good, this was by far one of the worst dining experiences we could have had. The most interaction in our visit we got was "sit wherever you would like." Our waitress had her AirPods in the entire time, never spoke more than "what would you like to drink and are y'all ready to order" Really disappointed in the amount of money paid to have been treated this way. I would love to give a better review, but every-time we order their chicken hibachi in Trussville there is no consistency in the dish. Sometimes the chef stir fries it with sauce and seasoning on the chicken and veggies which is delicious and SEVERAL times we've received our order with the chicken and veggies that are stir fried without ANY seasoning or sauce, or barely any seasoning and no sauce on them. Today we ordered it and it had very little seasoning and not cooked with any sauce at all. So apparently 1 chef knows how to cook and the rest need training. Ok so I ordered To go and waited 30 minutes to get my food. I only ordered 1 roll. So when I got my roll I checked it in the car and it was very quickly and sloppy. Also I was charges gratuity that I did not authorize. Wth?? I mean the girl could have told me if they were going to do that.
