I go here very often. Every time I come here I am greeted with joy. They always listen to what I have to say. All the staff is great especially the manager. They always bring out the drink correctly and on time. I definitely enjoy the food most of all. I can eat 3 plates and still come back for more. I will never ever get tired of this place. This is the first time That the veggie dishes are so limited. I mean, I saw one broccoli dish. ONE? This is new for me. It's always one or two vegetable dishes. Friendly service. The guy greeted me as soon as he noticed me standing there and was extremely nice. The buffet was really under stocked. Not sure if it was the time of day I can in but I just stopped by to get some rice and a vegetable to go for my dinner that nite and I had to wait since the green beans were out. I may have missed a rush though so no big deal; the host Was cleaning a lot of empty tables. Then I couldn't get as much as I had intended as I didn't want to be rid and clean them out right after they had just brought out the fresh bat CJ of green beans; but did they anticipate it having a lot of customers to eat them? It was only a half pan order that was put on the buffet, so I didn't want to take them all lol The other dishes that WERE there looked decent, I didn't get a chance to try anything else but I got green beans, a couple of broccoli from the beef n broccoli, and some mushrooms and they had excellent flavor The beans were cooked perfectly even after toting from the restaurant to the hotel; lightly crisp cooked with great garlic flavor. The mushrooms were delicious as well, paired perfectly with the stewed chicken I made that evening. Even the rice wasn't ur typical Chinese par boiled variety. I should've filed assault charges. My mother and I have been going there since the K-mart was built back in the late 90s/early 2000s. We used to go a couple of times a week, every week. Since COVID, we haven't been hardly at all. We stopped in a few weeks ago, and the food was borderline cold. I took one bite of soup, one bite of chicken, and broke open the egg roll to see if it was warm. Nothing was warm at all. I told the guy who owns it that we wouldn't be eating there because the food was cold. He offered to microwave our food...lol. I told him I'd rather have fresh food if I'm spending $35-$40 for lunch. He got mad and chased us outside, started yelling and banging on my car, grabbing my arm, and calling me curse words. Instead, we went to Konomi and paid twice as much, but the food and service was worth it. I'll never step foot in there again, and based on all the reviews, it looks like several people feel the same way. I don't see this place being open much longer, which is probably for the best. You might want to watch your back while you're in there in case this lunatic attacks you. I'm not kidding. He acted like a crazed animal. read more

We really liked this buffet Mongolian beef was not spicy but savory sweet. It's hard to Find good Mongolian and this will bring my husband back. This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had!! I got it to go- I got a variety of classics including Mongolian and honey chicken and sesame chicken. The meat was beyond dry and the egg rolls were worse than frozen ones. When I asked for a soup container (which is included with meal) I was charged full price for extra soup. I had to ask for extras like sauces etc. also couldn't get dessert cause only allowed one container although none of them looked appetizing. Choices at Buffet were very limited and one entire section was obviously for kids including pepperoni pizza- at a Chinese Buffet! I don't know how they stay in business with the palace right across the street! I guess cause people can pig out on subpar food - OR maybe cause they have sushi, which I did not try and based on the food I got I never would. I seen this place every time I'm in the area, but never thought about stopping here to try them out. I wanted to try a different Chinese restaurant and since I had things in the area to attend to, I figure it wouldn't hurt to try them out. What I noticed on the menu is there isn't a dinner combination combo so I had to purchase everything separate. I got the chicken with broccoli, fried rice, egg roll and a hot and sour soup. The broccoli wasn't cook long enough, the chicken wasn't tender, tasted rubbery and the sauce for it was watery. The fried rice was disappointing because it tasted like it was boiled (I wouldn't even call it fried rice) which I could've done that at home myself. The only thing stand out was there hot and sour soup since it had good flavor. It doesn't hurt to try new places out, but I'll just stick to what I know. read more

The Good: the price is right, the fake sushi is delicious and looks real, the food is fresh and refilled quickly when its busy The Bad: if they arent busy then don't go, they arent about to make more fried popcorn shrimp for 2 guests who payed for lunch price. The fried scallops are minced fish. Many ingredients are cheap substitutes. The Ugly: The lady who runs the place isnt exactly nice, and the employees look like indentured servants involved in human trafficking. I still like the place cause its clean, local, and consistent. If you go to other chinese places like the one next to the movie theatre in trussvile, your non-buffet food will taste like old buffet food. This is a mom-and-pop Chinese buffet located in the Kmart strip mall in Trussville. It's nestled between a Mexican place and a chicken place. It's cozy but there are some interesting buffet selections including fried slices of salmon and a wide seafood-rice-egg roll looking thing cut into slices. The main thing about this place is its incredibly fresh seafood offerings. There is a woman who makes salmon and yellowtail-topped nigiri. A dipping sauce is included. However, the pickled ginger was a disappointment. Whereas lots of other buffets make mundane looking and mushy tasting seafood casseroles soaked in sauce, this place offers an excellent light shrimp dish with large pieces of shrimp. Pros: some unique items not seen in other buffets, real sushi, good seafood Cons: bad tasting pickled ginger, not too many veggie options, they leave the white rice sitting in the rice cooker next to the sushi station, a bit small, and far out of the way for someone living in Bham center. read more

This is the worst buffet I have ever been to. I have been at this location twice. The first time the food was ice cold and stale. I let this slide because it was about a hour before they closed. So a few weeks later we go in again, on a Saturday, at 530pm. You would think a Saturday at dinner time would be the best time for the quality of food. Or at least the freshness. But it wasn't. We where the only people in the place and the food was cold, burnt, mostly empty, and stale. I wish I would have gotten pictures. We all ate half a plate full, paid, and left. Then went over to China kitchen and got good food. When I went to pay I was asked by the woman if everything was ok. I said no not at all. Which she replied ok have a good night, and walked away. We stopped a couple as they where walking in and told them of the quality of food they where about to get and they decided to go to Mexican next door. We will never return. read more

Food was limited for a Friday dinner. Most of the chicken was breading and overcooked so it was hard. Chicken on a skewer was sitting there the whole time I was there since it was so overcooked - it was like a piece of wood. The best part of the buffet was the Sushi(great for a buffet) - otherwise it would have been 1 star. I have gone to this restaurant a lot since it opened, and I think it is time for an overhaul. Seat cushions gone, carpet was dirty and now it looks like a store instead of restaurant - selling scarfs, jewelry, etc... It's a buffet. About all there is to say. Staff is usually more concerned with their phone than wether or not you have a drink and the food is never fresh.
