We got the Pineapple Chicken/Shrimp Fried rice, coconut soup, spring rolls and drunken noodles. The soup was great along with everything else. I prob will not get pineapple chicken rice, as it was a little bland for Thai food. The drunken noodle was very flavorful. I got "spicy" coconut tofu, soup, and there are two spice levels above that and I'm not sure I can handle that and I am the type of person that will eat pickled jalapeños for a snack. It was slightly tried and short of a few pineapples but still good. It also includes raisins, nuts, tomatoes and bell pepper. It's also a good portion size. As a younger person I would have enjoyed this place even more because, sadly, I can't tolerate spicy food like I used to. Next time we go I'll ask for the least spice I can get. That said, the food was very flavorful, fresh, delicious and affordable. Affordable is very important to us and this is a good value! My favorite was a sweet that we had after our meal. It was sticky rice surrounded by perfectly ripe mango strips with a coconut sauce. I like not too sweet and could have even had a bit less sugar in the sauce but it was so simple I might try it myself some day and it was amazingly delicious! The service was wonderful. I told our server that I was in the mood for mango and she suggested the sweet. There was only one server and the cook but they were doing brisk business highly efficiently and making it look easy as can be. Most of the business was carry out as the place is small and not elegant. It is quite clean and homey. We have sampled papaya salad several places over the years and were anxious to try it. Not only was it delicious, it was large enough to share with the three other diners. The crab angels were different than I expected and not like any I've a had before. We loved them! The cashew nut chicken (Thai spicy sauce, bell pepper, onion, baby corn, carrot, cashew nuts, white rice) was delicious and the Thai barbecue chicken (Thai BBQ sauce, half marinated chicken, fried rice, shrimp) was also great. The chicken was so tender it fell apart and the shrimp fried rice that came with it was very good. The mango sticky rice was wonderful (Traditional Thai dessert, sticky rice paired with juicy mango, drizzled in creamy coconut sauce, topped with sesame seeds). I wish I'd photographed the appetizer and dessert. The service was great despite them being so busy. Service was quick and thoughtful. My husband previously tried the pineapple fried rice shrimp & chicken (Yellow curry powder sauce, shrimp, chicken, bell pepper, onion, tomatoes, pineapple, raisins, cashew nuts) and it was great. I met my friend Robin here for lunch. I ordered the Spicy Drunken Noodle and he had the Spicy Beef Salad. Lunch included a small bowl Coconut Tofu soup (yummy). While we haven't actually eaten in (there really isn't a whole lot of space inside), but our food as been excellent in everything that we've ordered. I love me some coconut soup, and especially when the weather outside is chilly. I could make a meal out of their soup ... it has just the right amount of heat to open up my sinuses. So this may be one of my new favorite places in Trussville. We have ordered from here several times now since we've moved nearby. Which may be both a good thing and a bad thing! I also like that you can order from the Yelp app and from Grubhub here. The coconut soup is great. We get it every time. Just the right amount of spice and flavor. It is a large soup though, unlike the small, appetizer coconut soup you get at Surin. My favorite thing on the menu is the Pad-see-u: a mix of protein (your choice) and broccoli, egg, noodles, and carrots. It is delicious. We absolutely love the food but delivery is just not a option anymore for us after the 3rd time of ordering from them - our order comes without food, missing sauces, ect. Tonight I called and spoke with the manager who told us that she forgot the spicy tuna roll and the spicy Mayo sauces. When asked who was in the wrong Door Dash or them, she said she forgot. I appreciate her honesty. However, as most of you know when you pay a delivery service for take out - it's expensive. Even though it was the restaurants fault she said she could not give us a store credit- which I found crazy since they have in the past. She then said they couldn't send another driver. She didn't say why but that they couldn't. So we didn't get a refund, store credit and they refused to send the missing food? Again, food is great but DO NOT order delivery from them. The service is terrible which is sad because it used to be great service! The manager must hate her job. I wanted a table for two because I didn't need a bigger table. They had some to go bags and her cell phone on the only table for 2 available. I asked her nicely to move the times and she glared at me. The waitress even apologized to me for her behavior. I went back a couple of times. The last time I went when the waitress brought me my check she charged me for 2 teas. I told her I only ordered one tea. She said the manager said to charge me for another tea because I got a third refill (some of their food is spicy.) I told the waitress that you can't put that on someone's bill without telling them first. I did leave a 20% tip for the waitress. I left a message for the owner at the other location to discuss the matter with them but I have not heard back from the owner. I won't go back until she is gone.
