This place is a gem! May not have the best ambiance but the best that food I have had in a loooong time. The service was so friendly! The delicious coconut soup is given almost immediately upon arrival. Once we ordered you could hear our meal being freshly prepared. It was so fast but so amazing. I can not believe how fresh my meal was. The taste was even better! I highly recommend this place.

    Veggie Delight with Chicken

We stopped in here recently while visiting in Alabama. I ordered the Veggie Delight with Chicken and papaya salad. We have sampled papaya salad several places over the years and were anxious to try it. Not only was it delicious, it was large enough to share with the three other diners. I ordered it not spicy, and since others wanted more spice, the staff brought some to the table. My Veggie Delight with a variety of veggies and big chunks of chicken was perfect. I had enough to eat for another meal the next day. The other diners at our table ordered Pineapple Fried Rice Shrimp and Chicken and Pad Thai. No complaints. Everyone went home with a box. Server was helpful, restaurant was clean, and the service was fast. Oh, I almost forgot, as soon as we sat down he brought a small cup of Coconut Tofu Soup to taste. It was perfectly seasoned, and a soup I'd order in the future.

C1. Thai Barbecued Chicken The chicken is so tender and the rice is delicious.

We had the crab angels with sweet and sour sauce, cashew nut chicken curry, Thai barbecue chicken, and the mango sticky rice. Each dish was delicious and I would order any of them again. The crab angels were different than I expected and not like any I've a had before. We loved them! The cashew nut chicken (Thai spicy sauce, bell pepper, onion, baby corn, carrot, cashew nuts, white rice) was delicious and the Thai barbecue chicken (Thai BBQ sauce, half marinated chicken, fried rice, shrimp) was also great. The chicken was so tender it fell apart and the shrimp fried rice that came with it was very good. The mango sticky rice was wonderful (Traditional Thai dessert, sticky rice paired with juicy mango, drizzled in creamy coconut sauce, topped with sesame seeds). I wish I'd photographed the appetizer and dessert. The service was great despite them being so busy. Service was quick and thoughtful. My husband previously tried the pineapple fried rice shrimp & chicken (Yellow curry powder sauce, shrimp, chicken, bell pepper, onion, tomatoes, pineapple, raisins, cashew nuts) and it was great. During lunch they provided a free cup of soup, not sure if it was the coconut tofu soup but he really enjoyed it.

    Sashimi appetizer, so fresh!!!

I'm updating this because the Thai food is still great but the sushi leaves much to be desired. I have tried the sashimi, the California roll, and the eel. The rolls are okay but very small for the price you pay. The sashimi was a paper thin slice of fish that was definitely not worth the price you pay for it. I'll stick to just the Thai food here. Still giving it 4 stars for the Thai food and the service which is always great.

We got the pad Thai, pad see u, pad woon sen, and fried pot stickers to go! All the food was wonderful! I would say the pad Thai was probably my favorite but it was a close call between all of them. They also heated up great in the microwave! I've been enjoying leftovers all weekend!

I met my friend Robin here for lunch. I ordered the Spicy Drunken Noodle and he had the Spicy Beef Salad. Lunch included a small bowl Coconut Tofu soup (yummy). My dish was pretty good, and must have been a dinner order. The portion was huge, and I had enough leftovers for dinner. I thought it was good, but a little greasy. The waitress was super nice and the owner stopped by for a visit. The owner was friendly and liked talking about golf. He offered us complementary fried taro sticks to finish our lunch. They were good and tasted similar to sweet potato fries.

Tried Larb for the first time. It was ok but I think will stick with my typical Pad Thai. Spring Rolls were nice & crisp. This location has very limited seating and does not seem to be set up to allow for social distancing of more than a couple of small parties. Ordered ahead by phone and was able to pick up with limited wait.

I was passing through Trussville and decided to try one of the local restaurants. Pulling up the list from Yelp, I noticed this little jewel with 4.5 stars and great reviews so I thought I'd try it. It didn't disappoint me! I ordered the Pad Woon Sen Noodles with Chicken and took it home to eat. It was delicious. The cashier was very friendly and greeted me when I came in. I will go back next time I'm in Trussville..

Kati Thai Cuisine in Gadsden is your first and last stop for Authentic Thai in Gadsden!!…read more We were in town visiting our grandson and were craving Real Thai food. This little place is exactly the kind of hidden gem you hope to find--completely unassuming from the outside, a true "hole in the wall," but serving absolutely incredible food with stellar service inside! We started with the Nam Sod, and it instantly took me back to my childhood. It was served the traditional way with crisp cabbage leaves for scooping up every bite of the spicy, flavorful ground pork. Fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the Tom Yum Goong; which is my scale for measuring a Thai restaurant's authenticity, and it was perfection. The broth had that unmistakable umami flavor with just the right balance of spice, tanginess, and aromatics. The prawns were large, fresh, and cooked perfectly along with the perfect mix of herbs. My husband ordered the Pad Kra Pow with chicken at a FOUR-PEPPER chili heat, and it was exactly what he was hoping for--bold, spicy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Our daughter stuck with her okd favorite, Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken and shrimp. She's quite the rice connoisseur, and her enthusiastic thumbs-up said everything that needed to be said! The service made the experience even better. Our sweet blonde server was warm, attentive, and even took the time to share travel tips and local points of interest around the area, making us feel like welcomed guests instead of just customers. Great food, friendly people, generous portions, and authentic flavors--everything you hope for when you're looking for Thai cuisine. We'll absolutely be back again before we leave Gadsden!

Another excellent addition your list of Thai restaurants in Birmingham!…read more They've only been there for 6 years and I finally made it. Even though I didn't dine in, I appreciated the beautiful decor and the attention to detail. Gone from their early days during the pandemic when they were take out only to their newly renovated and larger dining area. There's nice bar with stools nearly centered in the restaurant. Employees are more friendly than you can imagine. Located on 280 near the Greystone entrance, YYST is on the right in a small quaint strip shopping area that's raised "above" 280. So if you're driving by you can see YYST by looking up. There's no outdoor seating, but plenty of tables and chairs inside with seating at the bar. They are quite proud of their Yelpies 2025 award for "Beloved Birmingham Business" which sits at the front entrance. Their menu is comprehensive with the right amount of dishes to satisfy. Every "Thai" place seems to have their own take on most dishes and YYST is no different. Their "recommended" entrees include Mango fish, Pad Thai Chakangrao, Massamun Short Rib, Pad Thai Wings and Panang New York Strip. Then they also have "Signature Plates" whose menu descriptions had my mouth watering. There's also stir fry, curries, salads, and even a lunch menu. Since I wasn't dining, I was going to do my litmus test and try their version they call Beef Drunken Uncle noodle. I also ordered their Fresh Basil Shrimp Rolls, and Bangkok market fried rice. I waited at the bar for about 10 minutes when my packaged meals arrived. I was offered a glass of cool water as I waited at the bar. The rolls were wrapped in saran wrap and I would guess were probably made a couple of days ago. Nothing wrong with that except I got unlucky and rice paper wrapper was almost crunchy. They were a little heavy on the use of lettuce, but each had 4 large fresh shrimp. The taste wasn't anything spectacular BUT their version of the dipping peanut sauce saved it. Yom Yom Yom! The fried rice was delicious. Tossed in a wok with eggs, onions, chinese broccoli and their house sauce, I had beef added as the protein and it was delicious. My Drunken noodle was very good! This traditional street food inspired dish is a classic. Wide noodles tossed with snap beans, garlic, onions, bell peppers with thai chili and basil, their version is quite good! It had great flavor and an excellent representation of the drunken noodle. Next time I might have to pay extra for a fried egg on top. Yom Yom Yom Yom! I'm glad I finally visited YYST. I am looking forward to returning and this time dining in. The Panang New York Strip and Mango Fish have my name on them!

Great service, lovely decor, impressive playlist, delicious wings and refreshing drink. I like that they offer mocktails and serve in generous portion compared to many places. The Zaap wings are a must if you're a wing person. I am not a huge wing person. We got both dry and sauced to start--both yummy. I'm a big fan of Thai food so I've had really good Thai food and sub par. The crispy spring rolls were good but pretty standard like most restaurants or what you can buy in the frozen section. I ordered Drunken Uncle noodle with chicken but it wasn't even "tipsy" lol - not a ton of flavor nor moist enough to be drunken. Edible but Kinda pasty and lacking so the 3-3.5 rating factored in to my overall is mostly due to my noodles but the rest of the experience I am pleased. Maybe I just didn't order one of their best entrees. When my friend had her basil fried rice dish redone with no egg she loved it, and it looked good too. She got it with tofu. Before that something was off but the staff was very accommodating and kind. They wanted to make it right so she'd be pleased and she was. We took our moms out on Mother's Day weekend as a treat, and they seemed to enjoy their whole fried snapper which comes on a bed of lettuce with rice & sauces on the side. The three flavor fish comes with 3 sauces and there's also a mango fish. The location is convenient and I'd return to try another dish or one of their curries. They were running a unique set of menu items especially for Mother's Day weekend but it included food items none of us eat.

It is located in a large plaza that spas both sides of the road. The opposite side looked more like a small shopping mall with higher end restaurants, but we didn't explore it. The side where this restaurant is located is anchored by a Publix. There was plenty of parking in the shared lot. I don't think that this place was what either of us expected, which was a restaurant where you ordered from your table. Instead, this place had a more 'hole in the wall' vibe, but in a generally good way. They had about 6 tables total in a fairly small space. You ordered at the counter and they brought the food out later. They were almost constantly fielding phone-in orders for to-go food. They had limited drinks available (including water) but no alcohol. The staff was friendly. The food came out before long, and we both agreed it was very good. My curry was quite flavorful. My wife liked her vegetable dish as well. So, just know what to expect. If you want to impress someone on a first date, this may not be the venue for you.
