EXTREMELY RUDE! I went in today to introduce myself as a fellow local businessman, and perhaps work with them to help them gain new business in the area. As I waited I noticed a young couple at the counter. They were selling their equipment. But what got my attention was the rudeness of the guy behind the counter. He said things like "Your guitar is pretty much worthless". and it clearly wasn't. "Do I look excited about you getting your amp from your car?" and the topper was this "this should be fun, me playing my $3,000 guitar on your $5 amp". The girlfriend had enough and went outside. I joined her. Instead of introducing myself, I decided I didn't want to do business with people like that. There is no reason to treat people like garbage. All he had to do was say "I am sorry, but we don't have a need for what you are selling right now". I hope the guy left and went somewhere else to sell his stuff. read more

I've been to a few events around Long Island this summer and was very impressed to see the students from this school not only performing, but drawing a HUGE crowd as well. At the Farmingville street fair, the audience extended from the stage, across the street, up and into the parking lot of the stores beyond. I was so impressed with the singers - and they're students! I see someone else's rating and believe it's got to be about the previous owner/experience. read more

Great school! My 4 year old is playing drums! Highly recommended! Over the past year I've gotten to know many of the teachers I have found them to be very proficient and knowledgeable about music and the instruments they play. What makes this school different than any other is that they care! read more

This is an amazing place of learning. They are very professional. The place is very clean and the program is outstanding. Our daughter is very shy by nature, but over the past several weeks I've seen her start to open up and blossom. I would highly recommend this school. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Jess, Sly and the entire staff of Rock and Roll University. My children have both had an amazing experience there taking drum and voice lessons, singing in the choir and participating in the band program. They have had numerous opportunities to perform at fairs, festivals and other venues all over Long Island. The teachers are caring and professional and I would (and have!) highly recommend RNRU to anyone who has a child interested in music and/or performing. read more

Since 2011, Rock-N-Roll University has been a music school for all ages and all levels. Rock-N-Roll University's goal is to equipped it's student with the skills to pursue their musical ambitions. This performance based rock n roll school provides it's students with private music lessons which are then applied in a group format through band rehearsals. These efforts culminate in live rock concerts in theaters throughout Long Island. We are pleased to announce: "The RnRU Pro Audio Sessions" Using the industry standard for professional studio recordings "Pro Tools Recording Software" RnRU will teach students the art of: - How to record in a project studio environment - Signal flow processing - Route to mixing - Mastering multi track recordings - Record to disc Our Master Instructors will teach students how to run and record a full musical session using "Pro Tools Recording Software" to master and record a finalized song demo. This class is great for all musicians who wish to learn how to mix, master and record in a professional studio environment. Rock-n- Roll University also serves the special needs community. Our mission at "Rock-n-Roll University in regards to our developmentally disabled students is to serve children and adults with special needs through creative music therapy strategies, group and individual music lessons, workshops and performances. We believe that music is an effective means of stimulating and focusing the attention of our special need students who

Rock-n-Roll University was born out of the desire to motivate and inspire our students, children and adults alike to find their inner most creative muse.Through our Live Performance/Band program it is our hope to bring real world experiences to each and everyone of our students.

Meet the Business Owner: Jessica G.

Jessica Gallone, the Owner of Rock-n-Roll U, has always believed in the power of music to unite, uplift and inspire. From her days performing Long Island cover bands to watching her daughter soar in th a local music scene while being a student at Rock n Roll U , Jessica has realized its potential and strength. So when Jessica, who earned her master's degree in social work, took over Rock N Roll U in January 2017, it perfectly melded her love of music and professional experience connecting with others. She and her team now work to create a safe, positive, and welcoming environment where every student thrives. Rock N Roll U offers private musical instruction and lessons, pro tools instruction, musical theater instruction, song writing classes, band performance instruction, and group and band performance direction. Every participant in the Band Performance Program has their own band. Each semester there are recitals for students taking private lessons, in addition to live music concert.

She also offered reasonable, practical, solutions and options to ensure optimal maintenance, for instance with maintaining ideal humidity levels in my home as well as potentially installing humidity controllers within the piano. Lastly, it's important to mention her prices were very reasonable. I can tell she really cares about what she does. Put it in the pool and the entire cover from the main frame that he replaced came off inside the pool. picked up the cover and bring it back for a third time. they didn't charge me. brought it to my house again after an hour of using it the same rubber tracking bands came off and now I'm back there for the fourth time. It's my understanding that Billy the technician doesn't work directly for the organization and is overwhelmed with many service calls. Seems to have a lot on his plate. To many customers waiting in line for repairs and only one tech to handle all of them. I'm going on my third or fourth week without having my pool, but regardless of that I'm getting the impression that this company is not the right company for maintenance on these robotic cleaners. As for the one star rating below, perhaps the reviewer should look at the situation. First off: The Rock n Roll University (RnRU) shares their space with All Music, which is a music store. It is unclear which business counter the alleged rude person was standing behind. Furthermore, the alleged transaction described has nothing to do with the kind of business the RnRU does. I'm a parent of a long time student of RnRU. I have been dealing with the folks there in a capacity that is well inside their area of business. I find them to be real, unpretentious musicians, who are inspired to teach kids. -Which they do very well. They offer at least two kinds of instruction: 1) Traditional one-on-one - Which is great . . . to a point . . . (see #2) 2) They combine kids of similar ages and abilities into rock bands! Each band rehearses and plays several live shows a year! Such a valuable experience! I'd recommend RnRU to anyone over the "Schools of Rock" in the area. read more

Our son has been very fortunate to be a part of RNRU for a couple of years now and I can't stress enough what a blessing this school has been for him from day one, and continues to be going forward. Jess and her team of consummate professionals not only teach, but mentor and nurture their talented students allowing them to blossom, gain confidence, improve their musical talents, stage presence and more. RNRU is a wonderful place for inspiring musicians not only to hone their skills, but to form bonds, friendships and amazing long lasting memories. To see these incredibly talented kids get to perform live in concert after each semester is proof that RNRU is a very special place. My son has been going to Rock N Roll U for over 5 years now. He has had awesome piano instructors, and has played in many different bands over the years. RNRU is an amazing place!
