New to Murrieta and excited to not have HOA, we were unaware of the City's Municipal Codes for landscape boundaries and what homeowners are responsible for. Until we met one of the officers of the City's Code Enforcement Department (via notice/warning letters) for a quick tutorial of covering the landscape areas between the public right of way sidewalks, curbs, and gutters alongside our property line. Eager to fix what we have been unaware of for months, we reached out to several landscape companies and obtained several quotes... Wow!!! What it costs to look at an appealing yard and surrounding areas!! For a moment we appreciated HOA, just for a quick second... Considering our 3 quotes, Rock, Turf, and Landscape worked with changing up materials that our budget would appreciate. They scheduled us to meet our Code Enforcement deadline (yes, we got a fix-it ticket from the City!) and landscape crew were quick to prep, complete and clean up. We didn't want to deal with maintenance or monthly landscape and water bills, so we opted for a rock landscape as it was much cheaper than fake turf. With a few minor changes, Gus was knowledgable with material and explained why, what and how we would expect to maintain. While there were more permanent solutions, it will cost more when cosmetic designs on permanent landscape come to play. Working with our budget and offering options for our needs, we were pleased to opt for rock landscape as a best fit for us based on what we expected for the long-term. The crew were friendly, professional, and courteous, especially toward heavy foot-traffic as they worked on the sidewalk areas. They had to cease work twice to accommodate heavy foot traffic on a school day, however, they were done long before our deadline! Final inspection and a walkthrough with business owner before we closed out our project and paid off what we hope will be lasting investment (curb appeal and code enforcement friendly!). Gus and his crew did a great job on installing turf in my backyard! Gus was really professional and friendly. Not only was he the most affordable quote I got but he was available within the week and did an excellent job. There was extra work to be done but they did it without a problem. The existing base dirt had to be dug down about six inches to make room for the base and to level it and they did me a huge favor moving it to another area of the yard. The turf came out really great, they made it to the level I requested and with a slight slope for drainage. Gus even made sure the turf was laid down the correct way so that it looked best when viewed from my patio or home and it did make a big difference. He had all the tools and skills to do the job right the first time, looks amazing. His crew cleaned up really well too. The first contact was Wednesday January 24 and the second on March 4, 2024. I wish she would have just said they were too busy and unable to schedule my job. If I could summarize it, it would be - Gus took the landscaping of my home and transformed it into the landscape of my dreams! I don't even recognize my yard! We have already gotten so many compliments! Now, let me break things down: I liked Gus from the beginning. I knew I wanted to change the landscape of my front/back yard and had some particular ideas and requests, but didn't quite know how they would look. Gus was very knowledgeable and took his time over the phone to discuss, thoroughly, some things with me. I didn't feel rushed and actually felt like he was educating me on certain aspects of my landscaping. Then we set up a time for him to come out and offer a quote. When he came out he listened to my thoughts about the project and my desires for the overall look and took his time doing so. He never rushed the process, we talked about my ideas thoroughly, and he answered all of my questions. I received his quote a couple days later and to my surprise Gus had not only suggested a selection of plants that I absolutely loved, but also gave me a pretty awesome quote. Within a couple weeks he and his team got to work and finished up within a few days. It is OBVIOUS he and his team know what they are doing and they take pride in their work. No corners were cut.
