I am also happy with how they routed my irrigation system. There are the occasional weeds growing through the weed guard, but I think that's inevitable. The bad: Most of the trees they planted ended up dying because they were planted incorrectly. All trees are on the same irrigation system that they routed, so they all received the same amount of water. 7/10 trees died. I pulled them out and saw that they didn't prepare the soil correctly and didn't spread the roots out after transplanting the trees. The ugly: The gate install was a complete disaster. They put the gate frame on backwards which cause the gate to have uncontrollable sagging. Also, the gate lock was put on backwards.

I had a contract with GG with a completion date of 6/14, which they did not meet. Luis is great guy, knows his plants and did a excellent job cutting my Magnolia tree, but that's as good as it gets. On 6/13 I spoke with Luis about a mature jasmine bush that he tore out, we had discussed keeping my plants on 6/9 the first day of work. After blaming "them" several times, he owned the mistake and said he would replace it and that they should be finished on Tues 6/16. I said, the contract date is 6/14, from his reaction he clearly had no knowledge of that. On the eve of 6/15 I saw the disaster left in my yard and I Emailed Brent asking him to stop all work until we could meet. Some of his response, "We are not completed yet. We do have you on schedule for tomorrow. All of the debris and plastic will be removed before completion. " We had a onsite mtg, Brent said via text they would finish on Friday, but the mistakes multiplied and my yard was left a mess. I ended up firing them because they had violated the contract by not meeting any completion dates, etc. I informed them I would have CSLB investigate, and when I went to file the complaint I found out their license is suspended, see pic. All around bad choice which I regret and now I have to hire someone to fix the work I already paid $7,000 for. IN RESPONSE TO BRENT'S COMMENTS, he contradicts himself frequently and not once did he mention water being a issue. I have water usage reports, and his other excuse for not cleaning the rock is in writing. Tearing out the jasmine was not discussed, instead I was told how they were going to protect my plants. To be fair, I did not speak to the CSLB about his suspended license before posting my review. I have spoken to the CSLB and they confirmed the license is suspended due to lack of insurance coverage. GG can't do business while suspended and as of today 7/6/26 the insurance coverage has not been received. They asked if the owner had called the CSLB and I read Brent's response to them.

Since I'm being accused of defamation, here is more proof…read more In my opinion, This tree was planted too deep and there was too much mulch and bark completely covering the trunk and base of the tree that we had to remove, unfortunately, this suffocated the tree according to 2 local nurseries. It didn't help that you incorrectly set our sprinkler system. My dad asked for the front yard and back yard to be set the same amount of time in morning and late afternoon, you set it so that the back yard got the highest amount of water in the morning AND afternoon and the front yard got the lower amount of water in the morning and afternoon. No wonder the tree is almost dead. Now to address your accusation of racism: How about you ask your guys that were here when the front yard was being done how often I would speak Spanish with them every time I pulled up to my house? I asked them how to say a couple things and they taught me. I enjoyed having you guys around, including you (when you were there). My post was nothing personal. I took 3 years of Spanish in high school and I always make it a point to practice when I can so I don't forget words. I can also speak a tiny bit of Vietnamese (learned about 20 years ago), tiny bit of Chinese (Mandarin- still learning), a little French and a little German. I've lived in Southern California my entire life. You only met 3 white people at my house and my whole family is an extremely mixed bunch of 3 different races. It's awfully judgmental of you to label someone as racist simply because of their skin color. Telling someone they did something wrong isn't racist, just fyi. I understand your go to "racist" comment with the way the world is right now, but it was displaced towards the wrong people. In my opinion, and the opinion of other landscaping companies that came in to complete the job and saw your work, your company's work was poor. Bottom line. Nothing personal. Just business. You could have fixed the problems (because there are more than I posted) instead of ghosting us and ignoring the issues, but you didn't. It's normal for some people to lash out and personally attack someone when they have no rebuttal for non-personal criticism. However, it's poor business practice when a customer shares their opinion based on their experience (with pictures) and instead of merely apologizing, you dig a deeper hole. Best of luck!
