I booked a room (Studio 5) at the High Tide for an anniversary weekend trip, and it does have lovely amenities and a great location (very close to the beach). However, from 10 PM until well after 1 AM, the noise from the bar below was LOUD, making it impossible to sleep (even with using a noise machine and earplugs). I think it was a live band until about 1, then switched to a loud sound system. The bed and walls were reverberating from the bass. It was perhaps the worst sleep I've gotten in years and I was exhausted the next day. I checked out early and we cut our trip short because I couldn't deal with two sleepless nights in a row. I got in touch with management hoping they would refund me for the night I wasn't there, and they wouldn't. They said I should have contacted them to switch rooms, but I don't see how that would have fixed having a hotel above a loud bar. I wish I had read the many reviews I now see here about how loud this place is at night. If you're a night owl this place will probably suit you, but keep this in mind if you go to bed earlier.

The only drawback I've encountered is the noise from the restaurant/nightclub downstairs. I'm writing this at 2:11 AM and the music is still pounding (and it's technically a weeknight). I'm not really bothered by it, however I could see this being a major frustration for anyone looking for a quiet place to sleep, relax, or work so it's something to keep in mind. She uses a Nest to remotely unlock the door and the code she gave me didn't work. At first she seemed nice when I called to notify the owner the door didn't work. Then, she advertised the room I got has a private bathroom and when I saw that there was no bathroom I called her to double check. The bathroom is in the living room! She still claimed that was my private bathroom. She got frustrated I questioned it. Said she would just refund me and that's when things got crazy. After I said 'ok' to the refund. She immediately hung up on me. So I walked back to the house to pack my things because my partner and I didn't want to deal with her anymore. She locked us out AND blocked my number!!! For an hour we tried to figure out how to get our stuff back. Only when my partner called her did she pick up and unwillingly open the door. The refund? She didn't respond to any of my emails asking for the status of the refund. Looks like they just changed their name to 'NYC Long Term Rentals'.
