My lady treated me to an hour of the most amazing barber experience I have had in a long time. The lady, whose name escapes me, was approachable, professional, and had mad skills. She was the only there on the Sunday I was set. She gave me the cut I wanted, treated my beard the way it should be, and the facial cleansing and hot towel treatment was just what I needed. They have been around for about six years, conveniently located above the "A la minute" ice cream spot in Redlands. I just moved from Orange County and I have been trying to find a barbershop. Esteban cut my hair, he was awesome. After I told him what I wanted done, he had great suggestions, he took his time with my hair, and he was very easy to talk to. I didn't know this, but make sure you bring cash. I always pay my haircuts with cash but if I need hair products I pay with my card. When I wanted to pay for a pomade I had no more cash, Esteban noticed and wanted to give me back the amount I gave him for a tip. I recently went to this barbershop and asked for a fade. The guy who cut my hair was nice but did not do what I asked. He did a meh job, like he just did it to do it but put minimal effort and was taking his time to meet the 44 min limit. The shaving part felt rushed. I did not ask for him to do it how I wanted as I did not want to be there longer or be charged more. For the $40 dollars paid I expected a better job. I think the girls there did a better job. Made an appointment with Joe for a Wednesday to get an undercut and a star shaved into my head for an upcoming tournament I had. I was super nervous about getting this done but, Joe made me feel comfortable and welcomed in the shop. He took his time on my hair. Been coming to Rocket 88 for over 4 years now and ill keep coming back. Adrian knows what's he's doing and will always give you the best cut but he is booked heavy. I would always schedule a month ahead of the cut if you wanna get Adrian. This place is a gem. Vintage barbershop feel from the decor and furniture down to the oldies music playing in the background. With today being my first visit, I can say that I felt welcomed and comfortable the whole time. The owner even offered me a beer while I waited. Having never been to a proper barber shop I wasn't sure what I was in for. The atmosphere here is awesome! I immediately fell in love with the old timey music and the large old leather couches. The decoration is consistent with their vibe, and it's nice to see a business be proud to be American. I'm not the typical faded-buzz-cut customer, but I was able to get a "gentleman's cut" that looked straight out of a high end salon without the old lady bickering. It's cheaper than my usual stylist, and even several weeks after my cut my hair looks great! I highly recommend them to anyone looking to check them out! read more
