We got a call in about an hour telling us it was ready to be picked up. Two places told me we needed a new transmission. Come to find out the last place that worked on it had simply failed to fully connect some electrical connections when they had re-installed it after replacing the rear main engine seal. There are still reputable place even during COVID-19. They'll be doing our vehicle transmission service from now on! Joe is the Man!

It was Saturday and only the owner was there. He asked uis to leave it with him to check it out. Acouple of hours later we returned and he explained that it was NOT a transmission problem. He also told us it was not a wheel bearing going bas as I had thought.He recommended another garage that he felt would give us a good idea as to what was wrong. He had spent time assessing the problem but would not take any money for it. Many other places would not have done this. I highly recommend this company as honest and trustworhty.

After driving it for months with no issues, I noticed a slight issue which I thought may have been due to an alignment or balancing but was informed that it could have actually been an issue with my transmission. I contacted Nance and not only did they ensure the transmission was working correctly but they went above and beyond to diagnose my issue. Everything is running smoothly now!! Exceptional quality rebuild with attention to detail !…read more Unsure just why the impeller hub that turns the transmission pump broke off on the torque converter wrecking my wife's torque converter and pump on her 1999 Toyota Sienna! However, she did have 258k miles on it:))) ~ Contributing factors had to be her driving the grade on Cecil Ashburn Dr. with overdrive ON! And a synthetic fluid about 10k past recommended service interval. To Daryl Nance's credit he did state after getting in there to confirm the damage, "the rest of the unit was unhurt". Meaning, we could replace the torque converter and pump and place the van back in service. Of course, the risks are getting the pump pressures up to normal for daily in town driving again we could run into the weaknesses inherit in a transmission with this age. So, we opted for the complete rework! Never meeting Mr Nance before we did know he was a member in good standing either the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association OR ATRA since 2012 http://www.atra.com/shopfinder?ShopFinderLocation=35802 *** He also came recommended after a relative ask what we we're going to do with the van. We told them we thought of Nance Transmission. The next day our relatives co-worker had reported in unrelated conversation of her most recent great experiences there! (A nice coincidence but more than enough to confirm this is where we need to go if we are keeping this van.) Work flow was about a week out... so we got "in line" in this busy place! ***We wanted to place no pressure on them for turn around to allow time for a quality repair. One month later our vehicle is in service in great mechanical working order. The battery, air intake and all bolts and nuts for all mounting accessories were placed back just where they go! No sloppy rush to slam it in! Conclusion: If you come to Nance, you are dealing with a highly ethical, highly professional, extremely meticulous and skilled, second generation business - all run by a family that gets along with one another! All this is rare to find in the transmission business! A real gem! And they don't try to do it all... just transmissions! To make a long story short, we approved what was needed to fix the oil leak and the catalytic converter they said was needed. $4800 was quoted and paid when they completed the repair. About four months later we were back for the oil leak which had gotten much worse. They claimed they replaced something related to the oil filter connection. At this point we lost all confidence in their company and we went to the Honda dealership. After hearing Honda's $9,000 bid to fix, we decided to buy a new car and end this nightmare. Christian Brothers should have been honest with us and advised us to not fix this car and buy a new one. They care more for their profits than they do customers. I sat on a stool at the bar in front of the window and watched the technicians at work. CBA provides a complimentary inspection with pictures and video of the car, as well as a detailed report of the condition of the various parts of the car. Wow! The techs were thorough and their uniforms were still clean in the afternoon! Hmmm. Maybe they change if theirs are dirty? After payment for my new battery and its installation, Devin had a yummy surprise for us. Never have we had such a great experience at an automotive shop! Well, when I got there, the older guy at the front desk (guess Josh had left for the day) was rude like. "Are sure are you are in you a the right place??" I told him, "Yes, I have been doing to this location for years." So he says, who did you talk to? Josh? I said yes. He went on to say all he had to do was go the next step and lock it in. You don't have an appointment. But he did fix it and wanted to work me in. I just left because I was done with his rudeness and smart comments.
