Whenever my lil buddy comes to spend time with me, we have to explore things together. It's a must. Rocket fizz and I have a wonderful relationship as it always carries some of my old school favorite candies and when my grandbaby mentioned he wanted to try rock candy, I knew exactly where to take him too. Rocket fizz has 2 locations that I am familiar with. One in Plainfiekd and one in Downtown Indy. I love both locations but downtown on the circle was our choice. When the monument isn't under construction I love walking the steps. We parked a block away and walked back. And once inside we were in candy heaven. We spent alot of time perusing. Because their were so many choices it was hard for my grandson to decide until the store clerk mentioned she just made some grab bags. Excited he was. They were pricey but it was for the fun of it all for him. It has been a while since we've gone but he still talks about our visit. And for me, the memories are worth every dollar spent. read more

wow wow WOW! this was such a cute blast into the past First, you hear that iconic storefront bell ring when you walk in. Then, you see rows, islands, and walls of candies and sodas. You can find classics like Necco, or new things like spicy gummy bears and ranch-flavored pop.. I was most impressed with the *treasure chest* full of cotton candy. From chamoy pineapple to Dr. Pepper (I do not recommend) -- there were so many options!! Out of everything I tried, the gummy sushi platters were my all-time favorite! Deciding to walk around downtown Indianapolis for dinner options and wanting to immerse myself in the local scene, I came across Rocket Fizz candy shop. Rocket Fizz seemed out of place for a candy shop in a downtown merchant atmosphere, but then again, it's Indianapolis. My stomach had been grumpy and needed something to quell that, so I decided to go inside to see what this shop was about. It's basically a retro shop that seemed a flashback to the early 2000's or even the mid 1990's. It was a step back in time really. There were a lot of candy options you can purchase. The store was empty when I walked in around 6pm on a Thursday afternoon. It was crazy since sunset didn't happen till after 8pm. And so, I looked around and found a Red Bull esque type of drink in those commercial refrigerators. Usually the drinks are found in the back of the store. I decided to purchase one, just because u needed it to function. They do sell other things but the candy I think was their primary sales. The ambiance was quiet and almost like it could use a music system to liven things up. For the most part though, it was an interesting experience here at Rocket Fizz candy store. The store itself was organized masterfully and it was definitely clean and aces in my book. If you're in the area and enjoy sweets and vintage candy brands, consider coming here to Rocket Fizz in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Rocket Fizz is a great spot to stop while in downtown Indy. It's located near the busy circle near the soldiers monument and stays open late for the crowds. This shop specializes in nostalgic candy from your past and speckles in the classics or commonly known options like sour gummies. I also liked the multiple soda options and how organized they were, from root beer and cream soda or orange dreamsicle. You can get drinks out of a fridge for immediate enjoyment or warm to enjoy later. Bag candy can be filled for $7-10 per packet. I didn't see an option to pick a smaller selection and pay by weight. They did offer pre-packed bags of taffy. The store also display metal signs on every wall that are for sale. I gave Rocket Fizz praise for being able to order the Cola my cousin wanted and mentioned how packed the circle was with people leaving the Circle Theater. The staff was super friendly and helpful even though the place was packed. Rocket Fizz is right next door to the Cirlce Theater. The Circle lighting had also just been done about a week earlier so there were tons of cars on the circle. Parking was hard to find. read more

We have always loved this fun candy spot downtown. We stopped by after wandering around for a bit downtown and found some yummy chocolate to share. It seemed the store was a bit bare and it almost looked like they were packing up to move? The line was long so I didn't ask about moving, but we found some great items and the staff was super friendly. They have lots of interestingly flavored sodas on sale ranging from peanut butter to coffee. I tried the pickle flavored one and, while the drink definitely smelled like pickles, it just tasted like sickeningly sweet plain cream soda. There was no actual pickle flavor all, it was so disappointing. They also had buckets of saltwater taffy and smaller candies that you could fill up a bag with and purchase. I was particularly excited about this because I absolutely love saltwater taffy but I'm guessing the bins with all the candy that you could choose from had been out for a very long time because everything was so stale. My seven year old thought she was in Heaven upon entering Rocket Fizz, and truth be told, so did I. Our senses immediately went into hyper mode being stunned by every color of the rainbow on the 'vintage' concert posters, the fun kitschy gag gifts and every kind of candy you could dream up! I first visited the Rocket Fizz in Denver, and I loved it. Where else would you find hundreds of novelty candies alongside every conceivable soda? Denver's location is bigger than Indy's, but the vibe is the same. It's fun to scan thousands of flavors to find just the right pop. I had to deduct a star because the cashier made a weird and lame joke as we were checking out. My girlfriend pointed at the fart spray sitting by the register. Then the cashier said something like, "You don't need that. I smelled you when you walked in." Wha? I advise you to stick to your day job, sir. I will take these sodas and drink them at my leisure. This place is reason enough for me to return to Indie (although, in my research I discovered there are other locations in the US) First off, I have the biggest sweet tooth ever, so I usually try to avoid candy stores at all cost. But when on vacation, why not indulge a little bit? Although I was presented with so many delicious choices, I decided on a bag of salt water taffy. You can fill the bag as high as you want, the only caveat is that it has to tie closed with a twist tie. I had fun spending a few minutes tying the bag, then throwing in a few more pieces, then tying it again--until I couldn't get anymore in the bag. There were so many great flavors, but I discovered that the Raspberry Lemonade was my favorite. Not only is there all the candy you could ever want, they have a giant selection of nostalgic sodas. We had brought a bottle of dark rum in our suitcase hoping that we'd be able to find some non-alcoholic ginger beer at one of the stores to make some Dark and Stormies. We ended up finding it here! Woo! They were about $2 each and completely worth the price. We actually came in here a few times during our stay in downtown Indie and the girl working the counter was really friendly and joked about our return visits. I love this place! read more

We just recently discovered Rocket Fizz and we love it! You can find imported sodas and candy from Japan, and the UK. If you haven't tried Cadbury chocolates before, I highly suggest that you do! They also have hard to find sodas, and candy, some that you probably didn't realize still existed. One product that we love, and haven't been able to find in years, is Bawls. But we found it at Rocket Fizz, they have original, root beer and cherry. Of course they have the unusual specialty sodas, such as sweet corn, bacon, coffee, pumpkin pie, and so much more. Another awesome thing they have are some great 'tin' pictures that you can buy, lots of Superhero ones, classic movie stars and others. I don't write yelp reviews. Yet here I am. I came from Kentucky to Indianapolis for the International Conference On Missions. Walking around the city I found a few GOOD shops, but only 1 GREAT shop. What made the others only good, was either the workers' attitude (usually bad) or the prices of what they were selling (usually high). I am no expert or authority on this matter, but this place seemed to sell a wide selection of rather odd and/or uncommon sodas and candies, as well as elegant looking root and birch beers for what also seemed to be low prices. I'm not a candy person myself so I didn't pay much attention to that, but when I saw some of their unusually flavored soda, I expected to pay more than I did. What really.....*ahem*.....SOLD.....the place (see what I did there?) was the friendliness of the people working there. A part of me wanted to go back just for them. All the employees were delightful despite being near midnight on a Friday night when you'd expect them to be tired and ready to leave. I love to go in Rocket Fizz. If you haven't been you surely have to go just to see it for yourself. There are so many kinds of pop in there that it can make your head spin. There are delicious flavors like butterscotch, apple, strawberry, and black cherry and many many more. Then there are the weird flavors like corn, licorice, dill pickle, and lots more. What could possibly be left? Gross flavored pop!! That's what's left in the pop. Flavors like dog puke, cat puke, and vomit just for some examples. Now let's talk about candy. They have candy galore. All types of gummy things, old fashioned candies and then there's the taffy. They even have sugar free taffy! I saw taffy flavors I have never seen before like strawberry cheesecake. The only thing that gets me about Rocket Fizz is the prices. The prices are quite high to me. $2.49. For a bottle of pop is just too much in my opinion.
