Rocket fizz has 2 locations that I am familiar with. One in Plainfiekd and one in Downtown Indy. I love both locations but downtown on the circle was our choice. When the monument isn't under construction I love walking the steps. We parked a block away and walked back. And once inside we were in candy heaven. We spent alot of time perusing. Because their were so many choices it was hard for my grandson to decide until the store clerk mentioned she just made some grab bags. Excited he was. They were pricey but it was for the fun of it all for him. It has been a while since we've gone but he still talks about our visit. And for me, the memories are worth every dollar spent.

I had been looking for Triple XXX rootbeer in its usual spots but had not been able to find it. I had to grab a 4 pack, then I came across nehi peach and grape soda. When I tell you they had all of the soda you could think of. They did. Candy as far as the eye can see. Awesome vintage signage... you name it. It brought back child hood with the penny candies, pop rocks and many vintage sodas. I look forward to going back and taking some tum to explore this quaint little candy oasis. It was a treat.

He was right, I got trapped and I had fun. All kinds of goofy stuff from t-shirts to preserves, chocolates, spices,jigsaw puzzles, plaques and oddities gave me smiles. Retro candy caught my eye and I picked up little to educate my adult sons. For comparison to Mackinac fudge, I bought some here. There is one place in Murfreesboro to get Mackinac fudge and I just might have a tasting at home. All of the artwork here and at the neighboring ice cream shop was fun to see and photograph. Staff is very friendly and greets you with a welcome based on their well known puns. About once I year I am here from TN, and I may stop again. If not, they do have a website of fun stuff to order.

They are so much bigger than the kind found in a movie theater box. My old favorite, Milk Chocolate Cherry Cordials, turned out to be one of granddaughter's faves too. I should have bought more, much more. She tried a Mud Ball for the first time and loved it. Of course we had to pick up some milk chocolate and dark chocolate caramels as well. Martinsville Candy Kitchen is a popular destination when in the downtown area. Right now you can watch the new addition being built onto the old courthouse and see the renovations taking place. So basically, this part of Main Street is candy central. Maybe these guys decided to team up, and figured that a rising tide lifts all boats. The Candy Emporium seems to have more commercial and old-fashioned candies than the other place. They also seem to get nasty with the licorice here, and in particular, black licorice. OK! I won't let you know my opinion about black licorice, those murdered-out pieces of vile rubber, because I don't want to yuck your yum. But if you are a black licorice fan, this is your place. They have bulk chocolates by the pound here (minimum 1/8 pound), plus lots of packaged candies -- everything from Starbursts to Laffy Taffy to Razzles and Necco Wafers. The price points range from 10 cents to much higher, so you can bring a kid here with some pocket change, and they'll be able to get a little treat.

He is friendly and engaging. The gorgeous chocolates are made on site. The shop is filled with cases of truffles and small bites. Gift boxes throughout the store, showcase everything from chocolate dinosaurs to the state of Indiana. My mind was exploding just seeing all the chocolate. A display of shamrock and other St. Patrick's Day themed chocolates stood in the middle of the store. Todd told us that they custom make just about any shape of chocolate. They will cover wine bottles or other bottles with chocolate for perfect gifts. My brain was calculating what gifts that I need to pick up. I picked out several assorted dark chocolate truffles for an afternoon treat and a large dark bar for evening dessert. (It is important to get chocolate after every meal.) The truffles were divine. The raspberry truffles are the best I've had. My husband liked the amaretto truffle. They also serve a handful of flavors of gelato. I'll return later in the day and report back. I thought prices were reasonable. A small cafe table is inside the store if you want to eat your treats there. There is plenty of parking in the strip mall lot.
