Stumbled across this little book/dvd/clothing store while walking down the street and I love it! It's so cute inside and they have a variety of used and new clothing, books, games, dvd's, cd's, comic books, and so much more! You can't beat their prices as a lot of their items are not more then $10 dollars and are in fantastic shape. Some of the items even seem to be brand new! read more

Very well set up. Nice and clean. Book and movie(DVD) galore. I didn't find anything that I was looking for. But I do recommend for clothes, shoes, music, comics and books books and books. Not hard to find walking but if you are driving and trying to look for parking good luck. read more

I had been wanting to go to this store for a couple months now after I came across it on Yelp looking for new thrift stores. I'm sad to say I was a bit disappointed. I spent about 20-25 minutes in the store and walked out with nothing. The store is a lot smaller then I was expecting and the selection isn't much better than what you would find at your local Goodwill. The lighting is just terrible in this place. If you are standing under one of their heat lamps it makes you sweaty. In the other areas, it's too dim to read a book. Plus I'm sure these lights waste a ton of electricity. A bookstore should have nice, even, white lighting. Instead, there are random spotlights pointed here and there, making some areas so bright that it gives you a headache and others too dim. read more

Great used bookstore. The books I got looked almost new and I barely paid 3 dollars each. Fantastic considering I didn't even expect to find the author I came in to look for (lo and behold I look up on the top shelf and there sits a book by Bharati Mukherjee). sad to read that some of the sellers have had a bad experience here because i absolutely love this place. from the vintage tv in the front window to the creaky wood floors, this place is very, very alameda. cheap too... as everyone's already mentioned. to my pleasant surprise i've noticed they almost always have a pretty sweet selection of music books as well - which can run pretty high if you buy them new. great addition to park street!! read more

I go to vintage stores for clothing and handbags. I rarely ever go to vtg stores though anymore because they are just too expensive. My only qualm with this place is that they have a very small selection of clothing and handbags. If they were a vintage clothing store at these prices, I'd be in heaven! aside from the amazing merchandizing and selection, this place also employs the coolest staff who are really helpful and amazingly friendly as far as buyers go. i recommend them highly for selling well-cared-for used dvds, cds, and books, as long as you've kept them in good condition and complete with cassettes/packaging for movies and music. also, i had this neat old scooter helmet that i planned to just donate to goodwill and they were happy to take it off my hands. i knew it wasn't worth any money, but it was kind of a cute and fit with the overall aesthetic that they're selling. plus, their buyer (who i believe is the owner) gave me really fair prices for my things--way more than i would have gotten had i tried to garage sale 'em. the store credit was really generous, and they offer 50% of the total store credit if you want to just take the cash. this place is a MUST for anyone moving and looking to find a good home for their vintage clothing, vinyls, cds, and dvds. plus the cash-in-pocket is perfect for covering a tasty meal at a Park Street restaurant. read more

There aren't many opportunities to look through a stack of cds these days. This place has got it...Really cool collection of good used classical music cds with great prices.Their books are very reasonably priced as well. I love going there! They have a modest amount of records to go through, but I swear, whomever is curating them has tremendous taste. I particularly love their selection of Jazz and special interest records. Almost guaranteed that I find something that I adore with each visit. I also love that they carry board games, vintage ones even! Great prices, always a unique and eclectic selection of books to choose from, and wonderful ambiance. My boyfriend and I come here every couple weeks to browse, and we've also had positive experiences selling books to them. The store credit option is good, but the cash payments are def on the low side; hey, they sell them for next-to-nothing anyway, haha, so it works. read more

I hope their in store service is better. I sent my book out on Nov. 21st. On the same day I sent another package out to a book buy back company. The other company emailed me 2 days later with confirmation of receipt. I got their check within a week. I had to email Blue Rectangle back to ask them where my order was. Lo and behold, 2 days later they told me they had received it, but I still have not gotten the check! That's tasty and expeditious now isn't it? read more
