I found a Groupon deal for a two hour recording session and snatched it up immediately. Then my son gathered a few friends and made an appointment to record a jazz tune. He made the appointment via email, which took a few back-and-forth messages to coordinate the time, but they were great to work with. The location is in a rough part of town and there's no signage from the street. To get in to the studio, you have to open a chain link gate with "no trespassing" signs all over it. But we called and confirmed, this is where we should be, and proceeded. Rowen met the group and took some time to understand the kids' goal for the session and gave suggestions on best placement and how they should record (they ended up doing it all at once rather than in sections, due to time constraints.) Trying not to be an overbearing parent, I left while they did their recording and came back at the end. They all beamed with pride as they let me listen to the recorded song. It sounded good! I'm sure there was magic in the background that I don't understand that helped contribute to the professionalism of the recording. On our way out, I ran into a friend who was here to record a commercial. It seems that Audio Inn Recording does much more than music and is a popular recording destination. We will very likely return when the kids are ready to jam and throw down another song.

The dance rooms are spacious and have mirrors along the walls which are perfect for classes. The check-in area/registration desk space can get a little congested if there are a lot of people there at the same time. And the bathrooms are tucked back in the corner through some storage areas. It's a little dingy and has a "backstage" vibe. Parking can be dicey since it's in the Trolley Square complex. But there is an adjacent lot just across the street-just use the skybridge to walk across.

I've taken basic hip hop and hip hop choreography, and both have been a great way to step outside of my comfort zone as a dancer and learn to build muscle memory when it comes to choreography. I have found that some of the hip hop classes do choreography to different genres, but nonetheless, the classes are engaging and entertaining! Single classes are a reasonable $16, but you can purchase multiple passes at a time at discounted rates and to get a feel of which classes align with you. I'd recommend Millenium to anyone looking for a high energy workout in a professional setting!
