Last night I was invited out by a friend for her birthday get together at Rockhead. I had never been to this pub before, so I was excited to try something new. Upon arrival, the street parking was all taken up, so I went behind the building, to park in the municipal parking lot, which wasn't really paved well, lots of pot holes and it was dark. Luckily, parking is free after 6pm, and I walked through the alley way to the front of the building to the entrance. Upon entering, their were many signs indicating that their debit/credit machine was out of order, and they could only take cash, but indicated where their ATM was, after taking out my money and being charged a $3 fee, I had realized there was a TD Bank, my financial institution, across the street. Everyone was arriving sporadically, so when I had arrived, my friend and some of her friends were there. The waitress came up and asked for my drink order, they only had one type of Cider, Somersby, which was fine. There was a group of us, and there was hardly anyone in this bar, we had ordered our meals, which took a while to come out, myself and another person ordered a Caesar salad, which were the second to last items to come out. The salad was okay, the croutons were soft and fried rather than hard and baked. The dressing itself came on the side instead of mixed in, it wasn't really that good. Other than the company, the food was mediocre, the washrooms we're really well kept, and the whole pub seems a bit run down, and more like a dive. Not sure if I will come back, but if I do, it's because I was invited, not because I wanted to go on my own; hopefully their debit/credit machine is working next time. read more

THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE COMEDY CLUB. We went to the comedy club over the weekend. We were visiting Detroit and decided that we need a breath of fresh air. We needed somewhere without guns, with police, with flowers and laughter. We ended up in Canada. This is a fantastic little comedy club. They are currently having a comedy festival. The comedians were all really good. It wasn't expensive. They kindly accepted our American dollars because our stupid American debit cards don't work with their ATM (you know, we don't have the chip that stops people from stealing all of our info) We didn't order any food (we had poutine before arriving- SIDE NOTE- PUT POUTINE ON YOUR MENU. Please.). We only ordered a couple of drinks. My husband wanted coffee because of the drive back to Detroit (the passport people scare us). They brewed him coffee and then gave us spoiled milk. Doh! I hate it when that happens. The bartender was very friendly and apologetic. My husband switched to a red bull and they gave that to us for free. Very friendly, especially knowing that we are out of towners and probably won't be back. This is a great little place and I highly recommend it for comedy. (Ouch- the blond bartender upstairs did have a bit of an attitude problem. I don't blame this on the entire establishment. When was asked her what type of beer something was she looked at us like we were insane and responded with "it is beer". Ummm...) read more

The service was great and the old Motown music made it easy to talk with the 5 friends we came with. Nice atmosphere. Though we were the only ones in the entire restaurant at 720pm. The food was awful! Dried out chicken wings, skimpy nachos and the run of the mill frozen mozzarella sticks. Needless to say we left to have dinner elsewhere. read more

Indifferent servers, mediocre food, unfulfilled potential. I've been here twice and I must say that for a desirable location on Ottawa St., this pub leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, the waitresses were very indifferent and the service was lackluster. Given that the place was not busy, it speaks volumes to their lack of commitment to customer service. It seems that they were more interested in chatting with bartenders and the cooks in the kitchen than serving the needs of their patrons. Second, the food is just mediocre. The tacos were plane jane with a side of salsa and sour cream. Nothing spectacular, but the price was $5 for 4 and the portion was more than ample, so there isn't much there to complain about. You get what you pay for. The beer was always cold and refreshing served in clean glasses and not priced out of sight either, so that's another positive element. Last but not least, I should mention the unfulfilled potential of this business. What self-respecting pub is closed until 3:00 p.m.? They are completely missing the mark here and throwing away the potential of generating extra revenue for their business. I have walked past many times around lunch, craving a beer and burger. When a pub is closed for lunch, as Gordon Ramsey has said, it attests to the apathy or laziness of the chef. It's just inexcusable in today's economy. Lunch specials and drink specials would attract customers. Someone just doesn't care, and it shows. read more

Was not impressed. When we arrived, it was busy - which seemed to be a good thing. Took about 45 minutes for the nachos (on special) to arrive, which was fine because we could tell they were busy. When the nachos arrived we needed a pickaxe to pull them apart, the cheese was so over done it was like cement, and the chicken that you pay extra for was almost non-existant. (No pulled pork, they were out of that). The entire ensamble was covered, (hidden?) By a head of lettuce. The lack of service was disappointing, this was a small gathering for a birthday that had guests coming and going. Table service was not provided - at one point 13 empty glasses were on the table (there were 5 of us). The bar was serve your self as bar staff was either not present or too engaged in a conversation to take our money. In the end, a disappointing experiance. read more

Comedy Quarry at Rockhead Pub review. What an amazing time we had! I can't believe this place has been in Windsor for over a year and a half and I didn't know about. The guy on stage tonight (I forget his name) I had seen on Just For Laughs on TV!! Insane! We used to go to Leos...but man, this place is 1000x better. Cheap drinks, great set up - the host (Josh?) was hilarious and so friendly, I think he even helped bartend. Check this place out. read more

There was delicious food and great service. The bar has a nice, quieter location on Ottawa street. The comedy downstairs is absolutely hilarious and I would certainly advise checking it out. read more
