[[HIGHLIGHT]]We stopped by for dinner before a run of The Lion King around the corner, and we were stuck at a table in the far back of the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I like the order-taking system with the dry-erase pens and being able to pick out specific items for the burgers...but the burgers were pretty plain, no matter what the toppings were, because the beef was only so-so. (The fries, meanwhile, were pretty solid.) Also, I had to send a milkshake back because it was basically a glass of chocolate milk; the second version was a little thicker, but the flavor was not overpowering. One order came out as ordered; the second burger came to table with an additional topping not requested. Burger was sent back only to return with another additional topping not requested. This was the downside of the service. The burger all in all was pretty good. The Mac and cheese bites contain absolutely no Mac; just liquid cheese. The order process in regard to receiving what was actually ordered, which was where the service faulted. Also, be aware of the 9% gratuity automatically included. Which was another downside to this location. The server was not very attentive after placing the order. She disappeared for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. After receiving the order, she would then again disappear for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. If the service is not up to par, you should not automatically be responsible for paying a 9% gratuity. The amount of tip at that point should be strictly up to the customer; based on the service they received. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience was that of a bustling restaurant; maybe at a medium Noise level.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The aforementioned is the reason for two stars. When we first walked it it took awhile for someone to notice us and seat us. However, the staff was friendly and professional. There was parking right next to the building that was $6. We pretty much all ordered the same thing. They give you a menu and a dry erase marker and you can build your burger or salad. We ordered a double smash burger with American cheese and tots. It was good, however I do like mine cooked medium and it was more like on the well cooked side. We took 2 seats at the bar before a Tigers game this past weekend. Amanda took care of us and she was great! Very helpful and attentive. My Husband ordered the BYO Double Smash Burger and fries. He added pepper-jack cheese, chili, and queso to his burger. It looked really good and he said he enjoyed it. Looking for some bites and beer upon arriving in Detroit, we found this place a block from our hotel. How convenient! We were seated at the bar and had fantastic service by Aubrey. We weren't expecting much from bar food but were pleasantly surprised with the Chicken Caesar Salad. It was huge and fresh and tasty. The beer battered fries were also delicious and cheap ($4). I called and asked if they had soup. He said they have Chili Soup. It was Christmas Eve. I also asked what time they closed. I was told 5pm. At least he got that right. When I got there the server didn't know what I was talking about! He offered a small side cup for 80 cents. I had them fill up my soup thermos. Finally, I was told it was a 'new item'. We both opted for the custom burgers and split a full side of the Sweet Potato Fries. The dip served with the fries was a cinnamon butter sauce - it was soooo good! we went there for lunch before the tigers games. we arrived at about 1120am the game started at 110pm. we did not get are food until 1245pm. The pretzels were so hot and fresh. They tasted amazing. They paired really well with the sugar. My husband really liked the cheese though. I would come back again just because of this delicious prtezels. We both built our own burger and got a side of fries. I got chili and cheese on my fries. I was so full from the pretzels and burgers that I could hardly finish the fries. They were super crispy and they loaded them with chilli cheese. The burger was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. My visit to to this restaurant was nothing short of amazing. The menu is varied as are the drinks. BTW, Happy Hour is M-F from 3-6PM Eastern. I visited for a late lunch and was not disappointed. We started with Chicken Quesadillas that were well made and so good that I had to have another order to go! I also enjoyed a Black Bean Burger. For the burgers and other food items, you order it the way you like it by marking desired options on the wipe-away menu with a black marker. I ordered mine on a bun and added cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and banana peppers with the red pepper mayo and it was divinely delicious. My side was sweet potato fries that were served with cinnamon butter - oooooweee, I shouldn't have, but I did! Service was great in fact, for all of the tables that were occupied.
