There are not multiple levels anymore. The class room is on the left or sometimes outside if its nice enough and the office is on the left. Prices are fair and affordable. If you look around some other companies charge a lot more $$. I have done several certifications with this company in 2020 I did wilderness first aid for the first time with them. They were improvising like everyone else and the majority of the class was virtual except the skills portion which i had to wait several months to get to do as that had to be in person and there were so many rules, as we all know. The 2020 training was with Vince. He was very thorough and knowledagable. My scouts did some babysitting and First aid classes through this company as well in 2020 or 2021, I dont remember exact timing. This weekend I went and did my wilderness first aid recertification and also CPR recertification. This time class was with John. He was also still very knowledgable and thorough and threw in a couple of jokes once in awhile. Definitely recommend these guys for your certification needs. I will be back in a couple of years when my certs expire. Thanks for another great experience!

The second time, I rescheduled but it was a joke to even get them to email back. They said we "added you to the class" but I never got the online portion. I had heard great things over the years about Boulder Heart. In fact, my brother-in-law, a…read moreurologist in CT even recommended someone there to me, but I was unable to get an appointment with that doctor, so I don't know if he would have been better. I'd had a bad experience with a cardiologist at UC Longs Peak who essentially gaslighted me. Didn't answer one question about my condition and had no recommendations. I should say now that I had a severe attack of pericarditis, fluid and inflammation in the lining around the heart. It turns out that the doctors around here don't know anything about it if it doesn't just go away on its own. This is a problem. But, back to Boulder Heart, and Dr. John Schutz and how they run their Erie clinic. I first saw a PA in Boulder who I liked a lot, she didn't know much about the condition, but was supportive. My BIL set that up for me prior to seeing Dr. Schutz weeks later. You wait at least 3 months to see doctors, and they're not very available in between. The first visit was good. Dr. Schutz is a very nice man. He told me to stay on the medication another doctor had started me on at the ER for 90 days, and then to just stop. That immediately didn't feel right, but apparently that's what his literature said about the medication and this condition. I saw a different story online when I researched, with this condition not just magically going away like that, but he convinced me to just stop the meds at 90 days in, even though I told him I was still getting some fluttering in my chest. That was September of last year. He said he'd be there to support me if anything went wrong, but he said it wouldn't. I trusted him. Unfortunately, within 24 hours of dropping the medication, the condition came raging back. I called, I wrote in the portal, I spoke to his MA. The doctor was "unavailable" and the whole clinic, including their clinic manager in Erie treated me as if I were an invasive species instead of a patient in need! Days later, I put myself back on the medication. Since I was unable to reach Dr. Schutz and his clinic manager not only refused to help me, but essentially told me to go away, I went to my rheumatologist. She's literally the only doctor who has any idea about this condition in this area that I can find. Thank God for her! Pericarditis can be a tricky condition that can reoccur. There are protocols for managing it individually for each patient as my rheumatologist does, but it wasn't until I saw Dr. Schutz again over a month later, that he apologized for how I was treated. He finally admitted that he didn't have experience with pericarditis that didn't just go away, and wasn't sure what to do. He didn't even know that the pills I was on had perforations so you can cut them in half. He wanted me to come back to him anyway! What? I had to practically fight with their clinic manager to get a call from the original PA (who was helpful, but apparently not allowed to treat me, because they don't work in teams, and apparently only your assigned doctor can direct care!) His staff was not only useless, but hurtful. I asked Dr. Schutz to please consult with my rheumatologist, but not only didn't he try, but she left him a message that he didn't return. That was it. Why should I keep going to a doctor who didn't bother to even follow through on an agreement like that? I'm currently back with UC Health and a different doctor there who DID consult with my rheumatologist and who also said up front that he didn't know what to do about this condition. At least he was honest. He also tried to find me a specialist in Colorado and let me know that he couldn't find anyone. I'd have to go to the Cleveland Clinic or other specialty clinic out of state, which my insurance will not cover. It's been nearly a year since this whole ordeal started, and I'm slowly weaning off of the medication, so we'll see what happens next. The rheumatologist is there for me if it comes back, she has a plan. It would have been nice had Dr. Schutz admitted he didn't know from the get-go, and if he'd at least tried to learn about it! It's a heart condition, after all! I won't give 1 star for this because at least he's nice. But, he set me back a minimum of 3 months, maybe more, and his staff is not only not patient-focused, they can be downright hostile when a patient is in crisis. There might be better staff there than I experienced, but I won't go back unless I get assurances that they know what they're doing and have changed their attitude. Everyone doesn't need to go to the ER. That's what they wanted me to do. I knew what was happening and those who knew the symptoms confirmed it. I didn't need to go through the trauma of IVs and another round of radiation when I've already had a lot. But that's Boulder Heart's only answer. Hell, the first time I went to the ER in May, they misdiagnosed me! U.S. medicine is in horrible shape. How this clinic is run is part of the evidence.

I rebooked and waited three months for the second appointment and it was canceled on the day of the appointment. I don't think there are any good cardiologists here who have reasonably quick appointment times. The person that I talked to said that it was because they can't fill open positions for Cardiologist. Most likely because of the expanse of living in Boulder and the pay that they get. Boulder Heart is not state-of-the-art. It's barely keeping up with cookie cutter answers to physical questions. Unfortunately, there are not very many other places to go unless you wanna go to Denver. Don't try contacting them with a complaint because they will not respond.
