the steaks are not great, but decent. sometimes steaks gristle and are full of sinew, i suspect they serve the lowest quality meat. the mgr/owner is very good guy. we go there tho less for the food than just for a road trip out of marlow. but they have decent consistent food, if you want a good steak tho cook it at home. imo read more

If we had not been speaking with someone about steakhouses, we would never have known about Rockin H As soon as we opened the front door, and saw the "downhome" ambiance. knew this was a great local find, and we were not disappointed. Our waitress was extremely welcoming and helped us make great choices. Recommended a delicious local OK Cabernet Sauignon to go with our grilled to perfection 12oz ribeye and 8oz filet, salads, and loaded baked potatoes. A few of the seniors (over 70 yrs old) told me about this spot a few months ago. Today we decided to drive the 40 minutes from Texas and check it out. Well it is truly in the middle of nowhere. You go down lots of back roads and see alot of cows and dilapidated buildings. We saw the painting sign on the side of the building and we were there. The staff was very nice and courteous. The bathrooms were clean. I added pictures with labels of the menu names for ya. My husband's Ribeye was huge and my filet didn't seem so big, but both were cooked perfectly medium and juicy. The only issue was the lack of seasoning. Our 3 year old nephew ordered chicken nuggets and home chips which was really good. We ordered fried mushrooms for an appetizer and they were good, but just bit salty for my taste. The loaded potato skins was ALOT could possibly be a meal to someone in love with tators lol. The sweet tea was perfect not too sweet. I ordered the fried peaches with ice cream and wasn't a fan, they were a bit hard for my teeth and the peach flavor was missing, but I tried something new. The locals either kept staring at me and my family or didn't make eye contact at all. I figured cause we may have been the first "chocolate family" most have seen ever or in quite a while. We did stick out like a sore thumbs. Being military we weren't too uncomfortable, and the service was great, but if you like a bit of diversity you won't find it here. They don't do military discount (FYI) With that being said, if you have the time and would like to try a good steak, (pack your favorite seasoning in your pocket, just in case) and give it a try, the food was great and portion size can't be beat. Robert & Valerie Hale have established an incredible Steakhouse in the middle of nowhere. I have reviewed them before, with high praise, and will do so again. I made the trip up there, from Burkburnett it only takes about 20 minutes. I consider them to be a local Mom & Pop. The only reason they didn't make my list is because of the 30 minutes from the Falls rule. But, in the case of the Hale's, they do all of their personal shopping in Burkburnett and Wichita Falls, choosing to support our local community businesses. From the Falls, they're about 40 minutes. I've been frequenting their Steakhouse for at least 5 years, possibly more as it escapes my memory. The food and experience is phenomenal! If you've been there, I'm positive you'll agree. If you haven't been, what the hell, get off your asses and go!! For an appetizer, I started off with one of my personal favorites, the Spicy Fried Green Beans. They're definitely a yummy treat. In the past another favorite of mine is the Cactus Sticks, tortilla crusted queso filled cheese sticks. My all-time favorite is their Boss Hog, but tonight I opted for a steak instead. I went with the Trail Boss T-Bone, with Loaded Baked Potato and Burgundy Mushrooms. When it came out, I was surprised at the size. The menu says, "over one pound", and they're not kidding. The photo doesn't do it justice, it's really close to two inches thick! Mine was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The taste is very satisfying. When you combine a bite with a Burgundy Mushroom, it's an orgasm for the tastebuds! I would also suggest dipping the steak piece into the Burgundy sauce. A meal here at the Rockin' H is a real treasure. I always enjoy getting to visit with Robert. He's got a fantastic vision for expansion, after recently buying up the three buildings next door. Can't wait to see this all come together. Robert was kind enough to pick up my tab, and I appreciate that very much! You know without question I'll be back. Went here for the first time last weekend. The service set the pace; was excellent. Not too much or too little. The food knocked it out of the park. Good taste was excellent. We live in Lawton & most likely wont come back mainly due to the distance. Pros: -Fries were very crispy/good texture -Fried pickles had an in-between batter than most fried pickle places, we prefer the lightly battered (tempura style) as opposed to the corn meal-fall apart as you bite it batter. -Our waitress was very nice -We were seated quickly without a reservation -Our burgers were good no complains with taste -wall decor was pretty unique Cons: -Our food took longer than expected, with the restaurant being as empty as it was. -Location is pretty sketchy read more

Friendly people with smiles greeted us upon arrival, seated us party of 6, orders taken. They were busy on Sunday after church so food took awhile. Hard to find if you don't know the area. We came in from Lawton and got turned around a couple of times even I h the gps. Worth the drive. Very cute and service was excellent. Steaks were superb and very reasonable for high end piece count of beef. For my first time, I enjoyed it overall. I'll start by saying that if you are a filet person, the quality of the filets here are great. I am a ribeye person, and mine left something to be desired, although the bone-in may be a better option. The ribeye was quite tough, but I do think there's likely a reason for that. The marbling was great, however. There's a good possibility that they use local/free range/grass fed cattle. That will of course make the meat a bit tougher. My biggest problem with the steaks was the seasoning. They could use more of a marinade or more diverse seasoning to it. It tasted like basic salt and pepper (a lot of pepper) and left me wanting for more flavor. The mashed potatoes were my least favorite part of the meal. They tasted old and also very heavy of pepper. The gravy was good, but I'm going to go for a baked potato next time. I would definitely like to go back to try the prime rib next time. The loaded fries and fried mozzarella were both fantastic. The squash casserole was my favorite part of the meal, which had plenty of flavor and was delicious. The bread pudding was a smidgeon on the sweet side, but one of my favorite I've ever had nonetheless. The texture was perfect. The peaches were very tasty as well. My husband's filet was great, my brother enjoyed his chicken fried steak (which was humongous), and the kids enjoyed their meals as well (they got the mini corn dogs). The service was fantastic and we enjoyed our night. I'll be avoiding the mashed potatoes and standard ribeye which are the reasoning for 4 rather than 5 stars, but I look forward to trying other things in the future and I hope they make some additions to their seasoning for the steaks. I may very well update this review in the not too distant future. Definitely worth a try for something better than the average chain steakhouses. read more

Wait time was long and hot food served cold. Some heavy set guy, who said he was the owner, came to the table asking how we were but he was slurring his words so bad it was difficult to understand him and the alcohol coming off of him was strong. My Dad was in town from Chicago for a little over a week and we visited twice both times on a Saturday the first Saturday me and my son ordered the prime rib which was beyond delicious! My dad and aunt ordered steaks which they loved. The second Saturday I really wanted to order the prime rib but the 12oz filet caught my eye! The filet was probably the best I've ever had now I have a dilemma cause I love prime rib and if I go on a Saturday I'll have to order it so now I'll have to go on a day other than Saturday to get the filet.
