3.5 Came here for lunch with a friend who hadn't been here in years. We got there before they closed. The waitress was very well sweet and moved quick. She had our sweet teas (which we actually nice and sweet) at the table fast. I ordered the fried mushrooms which were nice and hot, but needed seasoning. The house salad had onions, garden salad and 1 tomato. I ordered the four piece fried catfish. It was small pieces, not overcooked, light and needed seasoning. They had tobacco sauce, but Texas Pete would have made it better. The hush puppies were okay. Food came out pretty quickly as well. It has been a while since I have been here, but it was good considering needing seasoning. We are glad we came. They have military discount with a valid ID card as well. read more

Stopped for lunch on our trip home from Stillwater OK. Food & service were excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the fried catfish. Cole slaw was outstanding. Hope to have an opportunity to eat here again. read more

Dinner for my wife and her mother, walked in without a reservation or call ahead and only waited for 15 mins or so for a table of 7 that was not bad. The restaurant staff was very friendly and the decor was of course western, the tables had a thick kinda sticky clear mat with the menu under it. Now to the food the chips and queso where good and chips very fresh, the salsa had a very sweet flavor that just tasted off. I ordered the big catfish plate and shared with my wife, the fish was was very thin and mostly cornmeal with no fish. That was the same with everyone at our table, maybe they are trying to cut cost and thin, times are hard so I get it but that's just too thin (see pictures). My daughter had the burger and fry and Mac and cheese on the side. She said it tasted good and the found a hair in it. Anytime I am south of Red River, I'll only eat at The Feed Lot. Food, service, and atmosphere are all great!

The service is excellent, as is the ambiance. The food not so much, but it may have been just my order. I got a sampler platter, and the chicken fried steak had so much grizzle the knife couldn't cut through it. The catfish, and the fried steak had way too much breading, so I had to scrape it off the latter. The catfish had so little meat inside that all I tasted was breading. But the wait staff is so nice, I couldn't complain to them, and it wasn't their fault anyway. They got full tips from us. If I return I won't order anything fried, and will update accordingly. read more

The food is great, I'm almost always pleased with my meal when it comes out!! However, they have increased their prices and they were kind of pricey to begin with. For the location, they are overpriced. At times I actually make the drive to Wichita Falls to eat because the price and is so much more reasonable and there are more options. I want to shop local and support small businesses but sometimes i have issues justifying the menu prices. read more

You guys weren't kidding I first order a half and half which was made with the famous Burke Burnett water my first taste was utterly tap water with a strong order of chlorine maybe it was me but nope everyone else's drinks was the same took a whiff and hold on to your socks I order the mesquite charbroiled chicken dinner what I got was 2 small burnt dry flavor less chicken nuggets with no hint mesquite with cold dry mash potatoes with White gravy but I think it was ranch dressing and side Mac cheese and I can guarantee it was crafts mac & cheese from the box. How can you go wrong with a place called the "Feed Lot"? I was working in Wichita Falls and made the short 15 min drive up to "Burk" as the locals call Burkburnett and was completely impressed. This place is definitely worth the drive for good home cookin'. Don't be fooled by some of the places in WF like Pioneer that just don't live up. When you drive up and see a tractor suspended above the Feed Lot sign, you know you are in for a real treat! My meal was grilled pork chops which were very flavorful. I only got the half order, but it really hit the spot. The sides were delicious and well cooked. I liked it so much, I had to try a dessert. I heard one of the servers say they had raspberry cobbler. After ordering it, my server informed me it was "wild berry" cobbler. Turned out to be cherry, but completely made from scratch and very tasty. read more

This was our first time to stop here on a road trip. Will definitely make it a regular stop on future trips. I had the hot roast open face sandwich. Very good. Ample serving. My wife had the fried catfish - 1/2 order that was plenty for her. Perks- very fresh salad with homemade dressings, great selection of sides. Initially the atmosphere took me back to the small town I grew up in. Mostly farmers and ranchers with cowboy hats and game mounts on every wall. That quickly changed with one look at the menu, a diverse and expansive menu with far more options than the burgers and fried steaks in the old 66 cafe. Service was prompt and friendly. I thought while waiting for my ribeye and sides that it would be nice to have some bread until my food arrived however I am pleased I did not have a filler once I took the first bite. Delicious For dessert 3 of the 4 options posted on the table looked great. I chose wisely with the fried ice cream which is a new favorite since being turned on to recently in San Diego. Feed Lot's onion rings are the best I've ever had. My in-laws got take out from Feed Lot yesterday and when I tried their onion rings, I was hooked. I went back tonight just to get 2 more orders of onion rings. I'm going to miss this place when I leave Burkburnett. Great food but it was FREEZING inside the restaurant. We asked about turning the heat on and we were told that they couldn't because the owner controlled the heat and they weren't there. Wait...What?? Everyone that was at the restaurant had their jackets on. That's ridiculous. They would get more than 2 stars but I think it's crazy to sit in a restaurant and freeze.
