This is a big and open restaurant and also was very clean and not overly decorated. Our order was taken promptly and very professionally. We split separate burgers and shakes and shared an order of their dirty fries. Both the B1-Bacon Bomber Burger and the Nutty Professor Burger were outstanding. The bacon on the B1 burger was perfectly cooked and had great flavor as did the patty. The buns held up. I'm not a big mayonnaise fan but their bacon mayo on the B1 was awesome. I did not know what to expect from the Nutty Professor Burger, but it definitely delivered. It was a well-executed blend of sweet, salty, and crunchy (tip: spend a $1 more, add extra bacon, and thank me later). I surprisingly liked it better than the B1-Bacon Bomber burger. As far as the Dirty Fries go, the thin-cut fries were still nice and crunchy despite the gobs of cheese and chili on top. It was a fairly big sized appetizer and was great. This burger joint is tucked at the end of a strip shopping center and easy to find. Order at the bar, grab your own drinks, find a table, and wait for your number to be called. There are lots of speciality burgers on the menu, but I am a plain hamburger gal. Hubby got the Blue Buffalo chicken burger. We shared an order of fries. The bun was soft and buttery, but burger was a little on the dry side. Was disappointed that the thin fries was soggy rather than crispy. We never saw any staff wipe down tables, so it made sense as to why our table was pretty sticky. read more

The meat was so flavorful that it didn't need the cheese. They were wonderful & gave me jalapeño ranch on my burger instead of mayo when I asked if that was possible. We had a great meal here last Friday night (10/13/23) on our way through town. I had the Hen Solo and it was an excellent chicken sandwich -- crispy and juicy. The bun was delicious. My husband had the Nutty Professor -- it was a bold choice but paid off and he enjoyed it. We split the regular fries and they were crispy and well seasoned. The young woman working the counter was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, making suggestions and recommendations to us. I ordered the Bleu Buffalo Chicken Sandwich- When my sandwich came out it looked good! (see pics).. Upon biting into it, the chicken was under cooked!! It was rubbery, it seemed like the oil/grease was too high and cooked the outside before the inside "allegedly" I went back up to the counter and told the lady behind the register, and she had the cooks make me another one.. When I got the second one, it was how it should have been originally.. Juicy and tender, not rubbery.. The second sandwich was decent, but I was grossed out from the first encounter, so it wasn't enjoyable Truffle Fries- The fries were hard/crunch like they were cooked too long.. They had potential but the fries were over cooked! Cinnamon Toast Crunch Milkshake- Winner!! This was the best part of everything I got.. This was a very good milkshake.. I've traveled more than 10,000 miles inside Texas this year, and I've eaten lots of mediocre burgers. I'll do McDonalds just for convenience, Whataburger because I do like them more than most chains...but I love to find a non-chain burger place that does it right. Yelp steered me to Rockin' Rollerz Craft Burger and I went in to check it out. After perusing their menu board for a minute, I chose the Rockin' Rolla burger: pepper jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, fried onion strings and their signature "nasty sauce." They have four variations of fries on the menu. Feeling prosperous, I ordered the Truffle Fries: "Crispy Kennebec fried tossed in truffle oil, Parmesan cheese and topped with fresh parsley. My food arrived and it was a mixed blessing. First, the burger was fantastic, one of the best I've ever had. The tasty beef patty was enhanced by the thick-cut (but still crisp!) bacon and the wonderful fried onion strings. So good! The fries, however, were not good. First, they weren't "crispy," they were limp and not hot. Second, the truffle oil gave off a pungent aroma that was off-putting to me. There was quite a load of parmesan and parsley on top, a little too much for my taste. I only took three bites of the fries. It's probably my fault for not just going with their regular fries, which are highly-reviewed by many here. So I'll take the blame; maybe I'm just not a truffle oil kinda guy. But that burger is world class! I would eat here a couple times a week if I lived anywhere close. Try the Rockin' Rolla...and follow your heart on the truffle fries. read more

Went early on a Saturday and the place was empty. We travel through Abilene fairly regularly and had not tried this place. It's a short menu with a focus on burgers, sandwiches and fries. Great focus and excellent execution. I had the Rockin Rolla. I had the sauce on the side. I'm not a fan of ketchup and the sauce is a classic fry sauce, part mayo part ketchup. I had this burger with Mayo. Definitely top 3 of all time burgers. The bacon was cooked perfectly--not soggy but not rock-like either. They toast their buns on the flat top with butter. Sooo good! My wife had the old school with blue cheese. I snagged a bite. Yum! I usually like my burgers medium. They cook them medium-well, but they were not dried out. We shared the truffle fries. I prefer my fries crispy, but my wife said they were cooked perfect. Ranch and jalapeño ranch are both made from scratch and are outstanding. My wife & I enjoy eating the Kid's special w 1/4 lb burger (pickles, tomato & lettuce), fries & drink for 7.25ish.

It was a long drive to Odessa which took me through Abilene, Texas. And as the day would have it, lunch and Abilene aligned so I looked on the trusty Yelp app to find a good local restaurant that I could grab a quick bite and get back on the road. There were several places that stood out, but there was just something that made Rockin Rollerz Craft Burgers shine more than the rest. Maybe it was the fact that it was a new restaurant or the word "craft" in the name but whatever it was I made my way to the Northside of town to find it tucked away in a strip shopping center along with a frame shop, a family hair cut shop and a nail salon. The place was definitely new. My shoes made squeaking noises on the ground, and I could almost see myself in the fresh coat of paint covering the walls. The girl at the cash register was still learning how to take an arder but she was well versed in which burgers were the best. She suggested the Poppin Johnny and I asked for fries on top of that. They don't have beer yet but she told me that they would have in the near future. I took my seat in the empty dinning area. And waited about 7 minutes for my burger and fries. One of the girls I had seen training the cashier brought my order out on a small aluminum tray. I was impressed with the presentation. I heard someone say that tall or stacked food is more pleasing and this burger was stacked! (See Photo) Oh my goodness. I knew that if the burger was as delicious as it looked I was going to be blown away. I bit into the burger and I was pleased with the flavor and the combination of textures. The crispy onion strings were amazing. Usually, these are fickle and quickly become soggy or stale if not served properly. The bun was fresh and Brioche-like but without the sweetness. The cook had caramelized the meat beautifully, but lamentably, the burger was served "well done" and the flavor in the meat was all but cooked out. The paddy was D-R-Y. The only saving grace was the cream cheese and the fire roasted jalapeño ranch sauce that was served with the burger. It was so close to being a perfect burger. The fries were a surprise. First of all, they were very generous with them. And the way they looked I would have assumed that they were precut frozen fries, but they tasted fresh and homemade. Poppin Johnny - 10.00 Fries - 2.25 I would have given this place an easy 5 stars but for the dry paddy. I looked, but there was no indication as to how they cook the meat so I have to take that into consideration. I would suggest that the owner add a description somewhere that states how they cook the meat so that the patrons can request a different finish. I hope I drive through again one day to try the burgers again. This time I'll ask for a medium or a medium rare burger. read more
