This place is the mother of all dive bars! i've been to a lot of bars in my time and this one takes…read moreit all hands down! I know this place is in the middle of nowhere. I mean NO WHERE! Alligator country! So im here visiting with friends who live near this place. We walk in and literally the record player scratches to a halt and everyone in the bar (all of 4 of them) stop, turn and stare at us. This is where it gets fun! People obviously know we're not from around these parts and quickly walk up to us and start introducing themselves. And here are the names they used... Giggalo Jim, Gator Mike and a few more i cant remember. Im not making this up. It was hard to keep a straight face. So we have some cocktails and play some pool and eat some of the best boiled peanuts that i've ever eaten. A bit later Gator Mike walks up to us and says "Ever been on an air boat?" We all reply "no" and he proceed to say, i know a guy who has one down the road who would love to take you guys out on it. Now i know I've been told not to go with strangers ever since i was a kid, but dammit if i didn't want to go on an air boat! I'm 6'6" and about 260lbs, so if they can lift me and kidnap me, they can have me! I just hope they have a strong back! So we all look at each other and tell Gator Mike that we're game to go do this air boat ride in the middle of a swamp, infested with alligators and with a guy we've never met. Here we go.... Gator Mike drives in a car ahead of us and we follow him to the edge of a swamp where we see his friend. We get out, get introduced and off goes Mike. The air boat "captain" tells us to get on and buckle up, we do. he goes to the front of the air boat, open a compartment, pulls out a red cup, a bottle of Kessler Wiskey, some ice, fills the cup, fired up the boat and off we go. Im thinking to myself at this point that we're all dead and about about to be fed to the gators. But that wasnt the case at all. this guy was funny and actually pretty safe. we saw tons of gators, i got some great pictures (http://www.jskeffphoto.com/skeff/travels/florida/florida_07a.jpg, and http://www.jskeffphoto.com/skeff/travels/florida/gatora.jpg) and it was all crazy and fun and its a great story as you all can tell from this review. So if you're ever in the middle of no where in northern Florida, go here and enjoy the locals!

I had previously really liked the Pool Bar Restaurant, but after my experience there yesterday, I…read moredon't think I will ever eat there again. I ordered the Cobb Salad. It arrived looking wonderful with nice chunks of turkey. I took a bite and also got some avocado that was very overripe. Took another bite, same thing, and then I realized there was no avocado! The turkey was as soft and mushy as an overripe avocado... it was absolutely disgusting and sickening! The server brought me a new salad made with chicken, instead of turkey & said the manager had been shown my salad. The manager did not bother to come speak with me. I was still upset and worried that I would be getting sick from the turkey, & called today to speak to the manager. He acknowledged that he should have come to the table & claimed there had been nothing wrong with the turkey beyond it had been sitting too long in brine.... I cannot imagine how many days sitting in brine it took to turn chunks of turkey breast into literal mush.

There was just no wow factor in these burgers. Swiss muchroom burger had good flavor, but the burger itself was very small. They tried to hide it in an over sized bun. The bourbon burger had a funny taste, but same small burger. The coldslaw was a joke. Came in a plastic cup, with a lid and the cup was probably 1/3 of a measuring cup. TINY. The special drew me in, but it did not make a repeat customer out of me. $16 for one burger (out of the BOGO timing) is way over priced.

A light-and-breezy blue & white nautical theme is prevalent throughout the restaurant, where you'll have your choice of seating, either at the large bar boasting several large television sets, at a high-top table in the bar, table seating inside, or table seating on the large, wrap-around outside deck. The creative menu highlights a variety of fresh seafood, sandwiches, steak, pasta and more...offering daily and seasonal specials, too. Tim, our server, recommended the Mussels-PEI Mussels swimming in a spicy garlic wine sauce served with garlic toast. Delish. It's lake o'clock somewhere!

We had a chicken sandwich (Zaxby's is 100% better) and the shrimp scampi. I love pasta, but I didn't want to eat much of it. Very bland. The shrimp,,.most definitely from a frozen bag. I wanted to like it, but it just didn't happen. The coleslaw was good, but not very cold. I only ate it to get the pasta and shrimp taste out of my mouth. Normally we would send it back or say something, but we were there with friends celebrating a birthday so we felt stuck. Sorry....but it was awful. Ugh.
