I really don't know why this place wasn't packed. Really. This place has a ton to offer to the community. We were there for the pool, and it cost $2 per person to swim and use the water slides. The snack bar was closed in the middle of the day for some reason, and they seemed under staffed, but maybe with so few people using the center it was enough people. There is a very impressive skate/bike park out back that three teens were using. Apparently the ice rink is a big draw, but it was under repair while we were there.

Rent or bring your own skates. There are trainer zimmer frames available and the kids that could not skate well were able to be supported. The huge disco ball spun and the neon lights shone. The music was great and a darkish cavernous scene was set. We took pictures and marvelled how old Skool it was an more importantly how the kids were skating and not a one of them on the game machines or phones. Very refreshing to see.

ABSOLUTELY TOP-QUALITY MAINTENANCE…read more Early this year (2004) I bought a low-priced Trek Verve bicycle at a different (top-rated) bike shop in Santa Fe. They warned me that the tires were not the best, but I had three flats in just the few months I owned the bike. (I rode on somewhat older and bumpy pavement, never off road.) They ascribed the problem to a bad season for goat heads and sold me new tubes, with goop, for both tires. After one of the repaired tubes had my fourth flat, I asked friends for recommendations, and they referred me to Rob & Charlie's. Their expert Ray was a rank above, with a new diagnosis: The particular tires on my bike, he said, would let the tubes slip slightly on the rims, straining the valve stem and making micro holes in the tube near the stem, if not maintained above 60 PSI. While he was telling me this, he switched the tube with his bare hands in 5 minutes, and I was on my way. I got the bike home, eager to take a ride the next day, and checked with my hand pump that both tires were filled to 70 PSI. Yet when I went to ride the bike the next day, the front tire (the one Ray had fixed) had gone flat and leaked when I tried to pump it. So I called Ray, told him what had happened, and he told me to bring in the front wheel and tire (NOT the whole bike). He examined the new tube he had installed and found it defective. After examining another new tube of the same low-cost brand, and finding micro-leaks also near its stem, Ray upgraded me to a better-quality tube. Again, it took him less than five minutes. At my request, he also extracted the valve-grabbing part of my old Bontrager hand pump, cleaned it and fixed it before my eyes, again in less than five minutes. He charged me nothing for this second visit, the second, better new tube (with goop) or the pump fix, but apologized for my trouble. Ray is simply the best, most expert and quickest bike repair person I've ever encountered. In the future, I will take all my bike repairs to Ray, although I have great hopes that my "Bicycle from Hell," now with suitably pumped-up tires, will mend its ways.

Meow Wolf Santa Fe is definitely shows its age a bit - but in a way that feels more like wear from…read morebeing loved than anything else. You can tell it's the OG location. There's this scrappier, slightly rough-around-the-edges feel compared to the newer installations, and I think that's part of its charm. We actually went out of our way to visit New Mexico just for this, which says a lot - and I'll say it was worth it. However it did leave wishing for a bit more, especially knowing how expansive and polished the newer Meow Wolf locations have become. But in a weird way, it made me appreciate the evolution of the experience even more. You can really see how much the artists and teams have grown across locations, and how much love and intention is going into what they're building now. This location certainly helps you understand the whole Meow Wolf story a little better!

We came about 3 hours prior to closing and this was more than enough time for us to fully enjoy the place and see everything. They do have a bar out front to the side before you enter as well and a gift shop. I have attended their other location in Las Vegas, so it was fun to compare it to this location and see how different they are all around. This place is a gem!…read more On a road trip from California to Denver, we decided to not take the same way back and go through New Mexico and Arizona. It was a last-minute decision so we were looking for a hotel that was pet friendly and reasonably priced. After reading the Reddit forums everyone said stay away from Albuquerque and any hotel that is near the freeway there. Well, shit, every single hotel is on the freeway. ...And that ladies and gentlemen is how we landed in Santa Fe. After reading the reviews in Santa Fe, we decided to stay at the Mystic because it sounded safe and breakfast was included. Also, the pet fee was fairly reasonable at $25 for the stay and $30 for a one time cleaning. Upon driving onto the property, you are met with paved gravel, ample parking, and rooms accessible only through the gate. What's cute about this motel (and most motels) is that you can drive up and park in front of your hotel room. This was no different. The standard room is tiny, but for 2 travelers met all of our needs. King size bed, bath and shower, mini fridge, and cable. The bed itself was comfy, but the pillows could really use a bit of an upgrade. It felt like a bunch of cotton balls, all in a pillowcase, and it was very difficult to sleep on. For the price of the hotel when we saw the continental breakfast, we were stunned! Bacon, seasoned potatoes, yogurt, oatmeal, fresh fruit, waffles, coffee, and juice. Incredible! They have an event venue in the back, which I've read hosts live music. If you're looking for a quick, overnight stay that is reasonably priced, this would be it. The remodel that was done is super cute and matches the theme of the hotel name.

The indoor and outdoor lounge areas are thoughtfully designed with local decor, which really adds to the ambiance. The front desk staff was friendly, and check-in was quick and easy. House came around daily providing fresh linens and cleaned the room. We booked especially looking forward to breakfast based on prior reviews, but it ended up being a bit disappointing. The only protein options the first morning were undercooked bacon and yogurt, and the strawberries were very acidic. The second morning did include breakfast burritos, but they weren't labeled and were in limited supply, so we chose to go out for breakfast instead. There were some fun elements, like karaoke and live music, which added to the experience. However, Saturday night there was a party that went on until a little after midnight. It could be heard throughout the property despite the stated quiet hours of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., and we weren't notified in advance. The event was also open to people outside the motel, which led to many non-guests parking in the main lot, which is limited, and hotel guests having to use overflow parking. Overall, it's a lovely and unique place to stay, but it didn't fully meet expectations particularly with breakfast and guest-focused amenities. I'd recommend prioritizing parking for motel guests and setting clearer expectations around events so guest can plan ahead.
