My favorite spot during our whole trip was returning to the El Rey Court every night. It is an escape in itself. The La Reina and its La Reina Mesita has the best Margaritas and food, which we enjoyed every night. The rooms are stunning and the outside lounge areas are filled with trees and cozy spots. The front desk and all staff were exceptional. We highly recommend the El Rey Court.

It was open, but had a layer of dead flies, dirt and other debris circulating around the surface which was pretty disappointing. The sauna was closed, I didn't check out the regular pool or bar. The room smelled like cigarette smoke and was nothing special compared to a regular run-down motel room. Which would be totally fine if they weren't charging over $200 when there are rooms for less than half of that down the street. Overall it does have some charm especially in the outdoor areas, and with just a little more attention to detail it could fit into the mid-scale category and price range they're trying to pass it off as.

The bar has a door leading to the patio which was super convenient and the staff were all very nice. On another section is the Inn at the Delta which is absolutely GORGEOUS! The rooms run slightly on the pricey side but they include breakfast and beautiful accommodations.

Very Dissapointing Stay. My wife and I decided to get out of…read moretown for the weekend, and decided on Santa Fe to spurge for a 3-day weekend getaway. We had a few things we were looking for, includg a pool, hot tub, on-site full-service restaurant, room service, bar and spa (resort type amenities). While researching several hotels in and around Santa Fe, we found Hotel Santa Fe, and it seemed like a perfect fit, with a good location. We book a 3-night stay, and a few days later was contacted about "upgrading" our room. Since this was a special weekend, I thought, "why not', and paid for the room upgrade. Imagine our surprise while checking in that due to a fire 6 weeks ago+ (not mentioned on their web page) that the hot tub was not open, the pool was un-heated (no gas due to the fire), the restaurant, bar and lobby were closed due to the fire, and there was no room service. I think my wife and I were so stunned, and caught off guard, that we went ahead and checked in. If we would have known about the lack of amenities in advance, we would have cancelled and booked elsewhere. This news should have been mentioned on the web page or conveyed to us earlier upon booking. I find it disingenuous that they could certainly reach out for a room upgrade, but not mention anything about all the advertised amenities not being available. Upon arriving to our room, we unpacked and went out to find a spot for dinner since we had planned eating on-site. Upon returning to the room, we noticed a musty smell we had not noticed earlier. Knowing it had been raining we did not think much about it, but my wife noticed a large wet area on the carpet by the couch (and assumed it was due to housekeeping). Around 10:15 we were startled to see 2 large areas on the ceiling rapidly dripping water over the couch. Enough that we had to place trash cans under both areas because of the quantity of water. We were both so tired after traveling all day, that I told my wife I would handle in the morning. Reporting this to the front desk, I was asked what I wanted to do......how about a different room that's not leaking? While we did receive an apology, and a new room, I expected to be reached out to by management or possibly the butler (who we never met or heard from) because of the inconvenience of repacking and moving rooms. A failure in customer service in my mind. The complimentary shuttle service around the immediate area, continental breakfast, and most staff members were positive highlights of the trip. And our second room didn't leak. In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed Santa Fe and the location of Hotel Santa Fe, but I'd suggest not booking or staying here until you confirm that the repairs have been completed to ensure the reality of your stay matches the unfulfilled promises of their inaccurate web page. The resort level price paid per night was not in-line for the almost absent amenities that was not made known until arrival. We will not be back, but wish them well on their efforts to restore what could be a great hotel.....it's just not even close right now.

Simply because it was a ranch house that had its quirks. Wasn't built yesterday, but for me so much better than a glossy, shiny new hotel room. Llamas you ask? I didn't see any in the 3 days we were there . . . but perhaps they used to be there when it was a real ranch . . . or they were just hiding?
