I HAD TO CALL THE LOCAL SHERIFF TODAY 10/14/2020 My truck blew a tire while passing through Van Horn Texas today so I logged onto NTTS Breakdown and found a local tire shop called Rocko's Road Service and spoke to a gentleman named Rocky. I told Rocky that I needed a rear drive tire for the driver's side and of course he said no problem. Because the one good tire on that side was maybe at 50% wear I inquired as to a used tire in good shape with similar thread depth. Again, he said no problem so my drivers took the truck to his location. He called me once they arrived and told me that not only did I need one tire, but needed tow for the opposite side as well. I asked if he had a couple more drive tires for that side as well and he said yes. I asked him to take some pictures of the tires and send them to me. The pictures showed the tires laying on their sides with one resting half on the other. I immediately called him and asked why the thread patterns were so different to which he replied that two were steer tires. I told him that I was there for drive tires and not steer tires to which he RUDELY replied, "they're already on the truck so you have to pay me for them". I mentioned that drive tires don't usually get mounted on the rear and would like them removed as I was there to get drive tires and not steer tires...he hung up the phone then sent a text to my phone demanding payment. I called my mechanic in Charlotte, NC and got him on a three way with Rocky which ended in Rocky once again hanging up the phone when he was told that due to the weight differences between the front and rear of the truck, front steer tires was not recommended. I then called the carrier's safety department and again got them on the phone with Rocky. The results were the same as he once again got severely agitated and told the safety manager that he did not appreciate anyone telling him his business. I called once again and at that point was told that he was going to seize my truck and lock it inside the gate. I CALLED THE LOCAL SHERIFF. In conclusion with the Sheriff present after about an hour of going back and forth, he finally agreed to write on the invoice that the tires were DOT compliant and that if they were to be deemed non-compliant the he would give me a full refund. Without the Sheriff this would not have happened. This Rocky gentleman was very vulgar, and every other word out of his mouth was profane. He is without a doubt the most unprofessional business owner I have ever dealt with. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP...DO NOT CALL THIS SHOP...DO NOT REFER ANYONE TO THIS SHOP...DO NOT SEND YOUR WORST ENEMY TO THIS SHOP. By the way, when I called the Sheriff, halfway through my complaint the dispatcher suddenly asked me, "Is the guy's name Rocky?" to which I replied yes! read more

The guy takes my call and gives me a 60 to 90 minute ETA. 90 minutes later he can not be reached and several hours later still no tech. WTF? beware. read more

Don't deal with these people.You have been warned. My company paid for brand new tires and got recaps.They rolled 4 big truck tires that they took off in the ditch next to my truck. I was beside the road in Barstow, Tx 100 feet from milepost 53 for 20 hours for 8 trailer tires.(my trailer airline snapped due to a chunk of tire that bounced in my lane had to drag my trailer blew 5 tires dragging the rest)Don't deal with these crooks. They leave for hours and will not answer your calls. Then show back up hours later like nothing happened. read more

Work on my motorhome was accomplished quickly and at a fair price. I would definitely use them again.

They charged us 5 hours to replace a rear main seal that the Freightliner we took the unit to immediately found was not done. They also charged us 2 hours to remove the turbo because they said it was failing and may not even make it another day. Lo and behold there is nothing at all wrong with the turbo. DO NOT USE, EVEN IF YOU ARE DESPERATE! They never show up on time and give the run around on updated ETA's. Out of the 12 times my company has used them, they have been over 5 hours late 8 of those times! When we try to call the owner, he ignores our calls and then blocks our numbers. Horrible and unprofessional! Better to wait on the Loves, even if they have a long wait. read more

First had to wait 3 hours for them to come 40 miles. "Mechanic" was incompetent, didn't have the right tools, crushed the fuel filters then had to drive 80 miles round trip for new ones. I was charged for 4 hours plus travel time ($2 per mile) for a job that should have taken no more than 30 minutes -- DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!! read more

This business is an extreme rip off the way over charge for everything and claim to have a mechanic on duty but wrong they only have a couple of tire guys that's it. Also they sell used big truck tires for 260 a tire and they only pay 50 for the tire wow all companies stay away they are located at the plateau truck stop exit 159 I 10. i would NOT recommend this place unfortunately our truck broke down this people sounded like they wanted to help in the end they just screwed us bad spent a whole week to fix a fan clutch and charged us about 6k shitty service and a huge bill. don not use this mechanic they are just going to take advantage of you. read more
