I received a couple of text messages with my maiden name from 25 years ago from this number so I decided to call them. They are telling me that they have records of sending me settlement papers and that I am being sued from HSBC/orchard bank and that I owe money from 2009. What?? That was 16 years ago and I do not recall ever being with that bank let alone the amount?? I asked for the phone number to this such bank along with an account number and they could not give me the information. I was told that is not how it works. Take me to court then!!! read more

This is a company that purchases old debts and tries to collect that debt by calling from different numbers or texting from different numbers and leaving voicemails about serving you legal documents. Document servers do not call you ahead of time and in most states, there is a statute of limitations on how long a debt can be collected. I'm in good standing with all my finances, no late fees on credit cards, good credit, so I knew this was a scam. Your data was probably purchased or stolen in a data breach, they happen every couple years from various companies. So just ignore. Block numbers. And if it gets worse, change your number. Wtv. I have texted stop more than once and that seems to make no difference. I would suspect this is a scam and that they their so called legal group is a front. They are violating the no call I have on my phone number and don't honor the STOP text. They call you from various numbers. The most recent, today were (they called twice) 405-874-5632 and tell you to call them at 866-856-7117 and also tell you to call them at 430-240-0254 and at 520-230-8249. I enrolled in their program in 2019 or 2020. One of the accounts they were supposed to handle went to collections and I got served. They responded to the summons late and would never update me in the status of the account or the legal filings. I had to track down court information myself and call them about it. They didn't even assign a lawyer to the case until after it went to judgement. It took months of calls and reports to the BBB and FTC for them to FINALLY contact me and reach a settlement. I finished out the program and asked them to continue making payments on the last account, because I didn't want anything else to get screwed up. Foolish, I know, given the amount of chasing I had to do. As it turns out, they took only enough to cover all but the last payment to my last outstanding account (the one that they botched so badly). I have made AT LEAST SIX attempts since early November to get updates on my card settlement, every single one to no avail. Every time I call to follow-up, there have been NO UPDATES and NO FOLLOW-UP and they can't get hold of the negotiator handling my account. I sit on hold for 20-30 mins each time and the last time I was told I would receive a call back from a senior leader OVER FOUR WEEKS AGO which I still have not. I have done EVERYTHING in good faith to try and settle this account in full since early November, however they've done NOTHING as promised yet collect and STEEL my money. They have proven nothing but their interest to drag this out as long as you possible to ensure they get their full fees money. When I first inquired about a one-time payoff, I was told it would only take a few days. When I made the arrangements for this, I was then told (by a different person) that it would take about two weeks. After three weeks of not hearing anything, I called again and was told (by a different person) there'd been no updates and follow-ups with Amex. It was suggested to me to arrange a "pre-authorized" amount in the amount of around $8K to expedite the process. I signed the forms right away to do this and after two weeks, the draft amount was not taken from my account. I called AGAIN (spoke to a different person), and it turns out they made a mistake and I had to go through the process again. I signed the forms again, the draft in just over $8K was deducted from my bank about a week later. It has been a month now and NOT A SINGLE WORD nor update from them. I sent a complaint letter two weeks ago and still not a single word from them. I recently discovered they have 134 complaints filed against them through the Better Business Bureau (look it up) and a 1.7 / 5 rating too. read more

These people have been calling me for years saying I am "Miles Goto" - I can't get them to fix this so now I just play along. Sometimes I pretend to be a guy and other times a woman (in which case they call me "Ms. Goto"). I agree with them on "my" social security number and other PII. We get into the weeds on long calls about the home "I" used to live at in Arizona (17370 W. Mojave Goodyear AZ looks to be a pretty nice place) - and how much money I owe "HSBC" (or something like that - might be the Home Shopping Channel for all I know). A lot of their time is wasted - at one point the agent cussed me out because I 'verified that that was your social security number when it wasn't'. Oh well. Maybe the place buys debts outright from creditors and/or operates on contingency of the amount collected. LENGTHY BUT READ / DO NOT USE ROCKWELL I started with Rockwell in April of 2018 and setup a payment plan of $316.80 to be paid on the 1st and 15th of each month. My initial contact was good and I had high hopes that this would help my situation with getting out from under my $21,420.00 debt. As of today, I have paid $13,309.80 with only $7,671.30 being put into my reserves account to go towards getting my debt negotiated down. On 1/1/20, I asked them to get me a payoff amount so that I could pay it and close my account. On 1/8/20, I received a contract advising my payoff amount is $4,057.10 and it would be drafted on 1/15/20. On 1/10/20 I signed the contract and sent it back. On 1/16/20, there was no draft for the amount, but they drafted my normal payment of $316.90, so I called them to find out what was going on. They told me that because my normal payment was in the process of being drafted, that's why they didn't draft the $4057.10, but that they would put in to have it drafted on 1/17/20. On 1/22/20, still no draft so I called AGAIN and they told me that the old contract was expired, so now they have to send me a new payoff amount to sign. Not sure why they didn't call me to tell me this or why they didn't honor it since I had been calling asking them why the amount was not drafted. On 1/24/20, they sent me another payoff amount, but this time telling me my payoff is $4,791.25 ($734.15 more than what they previously told me), which should have been under $4,000.00 at that point since I already made a payment of $316.90 on 1/15/20. I called them and they advised that the matter had been escalated and was sent over to the department who handles the payoffs and that I would need to call them back on 1/29/20 to get a status. On 1/27/20, they sent me another amount, but it was for $4,537.23, still $480.13 more than the original amount of $4,057.10 I was given on 1/8, so I told them to terminate my account and give me my money back. They advised it would take 3-5 business days for my money to be returned to me, however, on 2/3/20 it still hadn't been returned to my bank account so I had to reach out to them to figure out what was going on. Absolute scam and waste of money. You are better off contacting your creditor directly and trying to negotiate that way. Also for those who don't know, the amount that you DO NOT PAY during these programs are taxable. So for example, you owe $20,000, but only pay $10,000, the IRS taxes you on the $10,000 that you didn't pay since it is considered a type of income, so be aware of that as well. read more

Rockwell promises they will solve your debt issue in specified time period and then reneges on that promise by telling you that the debtors will not negotiate to resolve the debt issue but if you add more to your account they maybe able to negotiate a settlement. As soon as they take their fee 16% of the total value of the debt you can't reach them anymore. Horrible company. They should be shut down as they are not acting in the best interest of their clients. Under no circumstances should you engage Rockwell. They suck! read more

I had hi hopes for Rockwell Legal but it seems like all they want is your money, they promise representation if need but provided none. They don't communicate with you. We got a summons, we sent it to them as requested, no action, so we called them and all they say is there looking into it, all you then get is an automated email that makes no sense. They failed to send representation, or reach out to the plaintiff. Honestly, I can ruin my credit, and get judgments without paying Rockwell Legal to watch. So far very unhappy with them. Think twice before believing their sales pitch. Avoid Rockwell Legal, This is by far the worst business I have ever worked with, they do not do what they say they will. All they want is your $$$, and will leave you with being sued and will not help. You are far better doing things by yourself, that way you can us the $ you save to help pay your debts off. I signed up with Rockwell legal Group back in July of 2018. I was naive and in desperate help and I was convinced this program was going to help. I did NOT do my research and blindly trusted this company and the process. Now three months into the program I have realized this is a scam and will NOT help me with my debt. As stated in the contract that you sign when you enroll in this program it says " Client may terminate this Agreement at any time, and for any reason. Should Client terminate this Agreement before all debts to the representation are resolved, ALL savings and unearned fees in Client's Dedicated Account with be REFUNDED to the Client". Last week I reached out to Rockwell to cancel my account and stop all services. When I was connected with a rep over the phone, he "attempted" to transfer me to another account representative to close my account after trying to get me to explain why I was cancelling the service. "Surprisingly" there was no one available and I was supposed to get a call within 24-48 hours. Not surprisingly, no one has called me back, and none of my emails have been responded too. Now that they know I want to cancel my account and they won't even answer their phones (obviously tracking my number and not answering or keeping me on hold). I have already canceled my RAM account (the FAKE savings account they use to steal your money) and I already changed my bank account number (so they can't do any more withdraws). This is one of the worst things I have ever been tricked into. I feel awful that I got suckered into this program, and I have lost over $1,000 that I could have actually used to pay off some of my debt. I am also going to write a review for the RAM company. They try to keep themselves as distant as possible for this fraudulent program always stating "we are a third part company; we have no liability blah blah blah" but they are just as at fault. They KNOW they are in a partnership with a company who is scamming all of these good people out of their money. I will do my part in spreading the word about these fraudulent and false companies taking advantage of people who need financial help. Please do not be tricked by this company and their false claims. Don't trust this firm! I wish I didn't have to put 1 star for the review, they deserve NO star! They charge 16 percent, plus other fees. Best case scenario, If you pay half of what you owe to the creditors, with all the fees you pay for Rockwell's service, you will still end up paying up to a hundred percent or more of what you originally owed! I already went through the program and I am very disappointed. I don't know why the BBB have them as an A- rating. They should have an F. Here is what happened to me! On December 2017! I had $31,856 in unsecured debt. I signed a contract for me to start paying 640.63 X 36 months I would be done with the program. So I'm expecting to pay $23062.68 total by the end of the program, that would have saved me $8793.32. After I started paying they said I should increase my payment amount so that they could have more money in the bank quicker to settle with my creditors. The more I pay the quicker they settle with the creditors the quicker I would be finished with the program. That made sense to me so I up my payments and struggled to pay $940.63 monthly. I was told I could lower it to original amount if I wanted. Not true! because later I tried to switch back to 640monthly and was told I would have to sign legal documents, make voice recordings, that I would be liable or they could throw me out of the program because they had already settled with some creditors and I needed to keep a certain amount of monies in my account. It was a headache. I suffered tension crippling headaches and heart palpitations stressing out if I would be in worse shape now than before I started this program. I started not trusting them. A few months later they tried to convince me to take out another loan with another firm so that they could pay off my creditors or they have more negotiating power to settle my debts quicker, and I would have another loan with this other firm at god knows what percent rate because my credit was bad. That alarmed me, I became more suspicious, so, I refused. I just wanted to stick this out, get it over with, no more loans for me I said. That's why I started this program because I had a hard time making payments to all my creditors it was affecting my health. I was trying to get back on my feet. I was expecting to be finished in October 2019 because of my increased payment amount, not December 2020. Anyway, In June 2019 I saw that because of all the monthly fees and with 16 percent interest which is QUADRUPLE the amount of interest my creditors charged, there was not enough money in my account that could pay off my creditors by October 2019 as I had expected to be finished by then. Nope they said, that original figure of $640.63 X 36 months was only an ESTIMATE! Albeit, I was paying more monthly I still had to stay in the program for 36 months. That was a hard blow to me. I calculated that I would pay at least $34503.31 total if I stayed on with this program till Dec 2020. This is more money than I had owed my creditors originally.I died a little. I was so depressed. After a day of thinking, I decided to get out of this program. I took out a home equity loan at 5% to pay off the rest of my creditors. When all was said and done, In total, I paid Rockwell $28792.96. All my creditors have been settled and I still have a home equity loan of $10000. In the end, I just wanted to be to be stress free and have peace of mind and not be dealing with any crooks. When I finish paying off my home equity, I would roughly have saved approximately less than $1000. This was a terrible experience. I still have to pay income tax on the monies that the creditors lost, the IRS treats the monies that the creditors forgive, as taxable income so I probably will still end up not saving a penny. The winner out of all of this is Rockwell they made a nice profit, the creditors got screwed and I am on the side line LOOKING LIKE A FOOL. My take from this, talk to your creditors first, try to settle with them on your own, make a monthly agreed payment with them, because you are only making the rich richer if you go with a debt relief service, they are only relieving themselves. If I could give zero stars I would. This company has zero integrity. in a position to pay off debt for past 6 months and they simply will not do the job they were hired for. Charge fee after fee and zero accountability. No way to go through chain of command to resolve broken promises. They don't give a physical address. They have never allowed me to speak with an actual attorney. They changed the fee schedule to be different from the contract and refuse to honor the contract. I would have rated a negative 10 if I... I would have rated a negative 10 if I could. We contracted with Rockwell 2 years ago, and signed for 4 years to consolidate credit card debt. We were assured that they would have no trouble at all getting our accounts settled. So in 2 years, they have taken roughly $15,ooo.00 dollars in ACH payments, to date in 2 years they have only paid $2400 of the debt. Our major debtor, just sued us in court. How is that possible? We contracted with Rockwell to negotiate on our behalf. Don't worry, our lawyers are well versed in this, and we do this all the time. REALLY??? Then why are we being sued? We tried to get payout information for two years and got the runaround. I filed a complaint with the BBB, and low and behold, we have representatives reaching out quite frequently. Our so called attorney responded to the BBB complaint and said they couldn't log on, and that was the reason for the delay, that they were working on it, and to ask us to be patient. That was 2 weeks ago, still no response has been filed with the courts. We then talked to a representative, who said "Good News", we have talked with your biggest debtor and have reached a tentative deal, BUT- we need you to deposit an additional $7,000 into your account. I'm sorry, but where is the $10,ooo remaining of the funds that you have collected thus far. The representative stated , well you only have $1300 in your account..... Seriously? Then we get contacted by a rep out of New York, that states they will give us a $5000 refund, but that they would put our debtors name in the memo field and that the funds would have to go them, and that we had to agree to still be clients of Rockwell... By the way- we were told our attorney would be reaching out to us, to this day- we still have not heard from said attorney. What kind of switch, bait and thievery tactics would you like us to fall for next. We consulted with a lawyer today,and I have prepared a letter to the Arizona Attorney General. I do not appreciate being lied to, deceived and my hard earned money stolen, and I will do everything in my power to make sure Rockwell is never allowed to steal another penny from other unsuspecting consumers.
