I reached out to this firm based off of a referral to work with a very specific attorney named Alden. She seems very competent, however her support team are not good at their jobs and are very slow. They admitted they do not have SLAs which is odd. I was moved around on the schedule several times which of course could be the attorney or could be her team, and the thing is with this type of work is that it's very rare that something suddenly comes up that you can't talk to someone for 15 minutes and need to push out 5 days. I was also scheduled on a holiday apparently and then just rescheduled without asking when I was available. This is not a premier doctor's office - you don't just reschedule people without asking them when they're available. Also, get it together and schedule when you're open - that's a basic coordination expectation. Also what happen in the course of a day she's so busy she can't talk for 15 minutes? That's just not acceptable in my line of work - you work OT and take the call later. I also asked multiple times for the retainer agreement and the general agreement and just never got it. When I pushed on what the problem was because I was ready to go and they were the ones delaying I couldn't get a straight answer besides "we're a medium sized firm." What does that mean? You're underwater? You don't have standards? You screw over people who want to be clients because you refuse to honor a paid 15 minute scheduled call so you don't work an extra 15 minutes? I have no way to pass this on directly to Alden and that she might be losing clients because of her front desk and intake team, but I'm leaving this review so that way hopefully this can reach her because I don't even have her email address despite chatting with her and paying over $900 for her to review my situation. I would appreciate my money back as I attempted to retain but was blown off and misled multiple times. Seems like a money grab for consults versus actually wanting to take new clients or having the capacity to. On the phone, their intake person offered referrals which I said please send, and she sent the next day versus same day (again, no sense of urgency for an urgent situation). Then the intake coordinator cancelled my 15 minutes with Alden without asking me. I was intending on keeping it. When I called them out on this ridiculous behavior, they just said because I needed someone asap (which is true but was waiting to speak with Alden on what the delay was & how to move forward), they cancelled it. Again, without asking me! Just insane. Btw, through all of this, I still cannot reach Alden or attorney team directly. I would have preferred to give this feedback privately, but there's no way to do so. read more

Unprofessional, poor communication, attorney Mervyn provided false information and long story full of lies to deflect answering full disclosure information required to provide-delaying the case. Andrea the senior paralegal filed documents to the court and other party for a completely different case and client representing - They deny representing a client they are listed as representing and under this false narrative-ignoring issue presented to them and then again Andrea sent confidential information to a party not listed in case. If you're hiring an attorney for help to navigate your case, they do not provide accurate information and they may end up sharing your confidential case information to people not involved in the case. Find better representation, you're worth it!!! Better off going to the law library for help then waste your money on them, it's free and accurate information is provided! read more

I gave them one star only because you can't rate them a ZERO. Using Jaburg was the worst experience of my life. After i paid a $10,000 retainer (not a misprint)! to use the SR partner I was shuffled off to a JR assoc. The sole and only interest any employee or partner of this firm has is to milk as much huge money out of you as they can. I was triple tier billed-partner, associate and paralegal for coinciding issues. The ONLY corporate culture at this firm is to treat the client like they are a flaming idiot and speak down to them with disgust, disdain, and disrespect. They know that to switch firms in the middle of your divorce will cost you $20,000-$30,000 more in retainer so they kill you with the absurd fees. I was treated like a criminal defendant not a divorce plaintiff. I spent over $80,000!!!! on my divorce. And once the associate decided that they couldn't make enough money off of me I was dumped cold. HE told me this was the reason without a hint of shame, and left me with outstanding issues. I assume it is their intent to emotionally exhaust you, bill you outrageous amounts, and leave you so destroyed as a person that you don't have the energy to file a Bar Complaint against them. If I wanted continuous verbal abuse, ignored emails and unreturned phone calls combined with shocking and seemingly un-substianted bills I would have just stayed married. If you want to survive a divorced and/or bankruptcy with any shred of dignity whatsoever, do yourself a favor and turn and run the other direction! One of the founding partners actually had the egomaniacal nerve to harshly scold me for paying with a credit card because he didn't like to pay the 3% fees!!!!! These are people who think you are an idiot from the time you step in and the more you pay the less they respect you. They ALL think they are smarter then you and ALL confuse being emotionally upset by your divorce with stupidity and weakness. After hiring a much smaller and much more humanistic Firm I was finally able to close out the mess I was left with and had paid dearly to have closed out. If you expect and sympathy, understanding or compassion you will find none under any and all circumstances. I am still shocked at how I was treated as less then human and more like an ATM. HIred MItch Reishman to handle my divorce at the recommendation of a friend. My friend told me Mitch is like a surgeon and cuts through the garbage to build his case. The only surgery done by Mitch Reishman was on my wallet that was made over a hundred thousand dollars lighter.. I paid through the nose for his services and received subpar performance results in my trial The is proof that you can pay a lot and still not get the desired results. I still shake my head at the hours billed and wondered how such abysmal results could come about with such high billable hours. Mitch gets Top Lawyer status but not sure why. He failed to win very basic things in my case and I was taken to the cleaners by my ex's attorney. I'd look elsewhere. I was not provided the level of expertise I expected and I am not a happy fan. I spoke with Gary Jaburg only very briefly a couple of times on the phone because he was recommended as a no bullshit type of lawyer who gets the job done. After getting ahold of him on the phone, he seemed less than thrilled to be talking to me.. almost seemed surprised or caught off guard that I had called him it all, which seemed a bit odd to me. I told him my situation pertaining to my divorce and explained what I needed him for. He gave me a list of things to send him and asked me to type out an email explaining the same things I had just told him on the phone, and include names and such. After reading my painstakingly typed out letter re-explaining my situation to him, he told me that in order for his firm to even think about taking my case they would be reviewing it more thoroughly, and only after I paid him $1,000 up front! Well paying for jobs up front in the past with no guarantees up front only for a chance to get nothing in return but less cash has not worked out so great for me in the past! Of course I explained that $1,000 just for them to even consider taking my case with no guarantee was a lot.. and not very reasonable at all. He immediately writes me back saying that he couldn't help me and "good luck" So overall, I was made to feel like a burden, that my case was not worth it, or maybe they only want to take cases that they believe will make them a lot of money.. either way.. I was left with a bad feeling about this firm altogether! Would not recommend to the average person. These guys must be snobs. read more

I hired Jaburg & Wilks from a recommendation through my banker. I was going to short sale my home (which closed 11/13/10) and I did not want to lose any of my assets in the process or be liable for anything down the road. I met with David Allen and he spend an hour with me and asked me questions about my situation and it felt good having an attorney tell me that things will be OK (from someone that actually knows). This firm does all the foreclosures for Wells Fargo so they represent banks all the time. I cant think of anyone that would know about what I am risking more than the guys that would sue me for sticking it to them. The consultation cost me $300 and I feel it was worth every penny. Not everyone situation is the same so if you need piece of mind I highly recommend getting a consultation with them.
