My boys were sitting in the house on Saturday evening driving me crazy running around the house. So I decided to find an activity outdoors to allow them to burn off all that extra energy and I came across Rocky George. They have a miniature golf course and also a batting cage. My boys were excited to step up to the plate and hit some balls. When we got to the location, it was later in the evening so we couldn't really see much of what the outside of the facility looked like. This location is a bit dated and in need of some TLC. You walk in there isn't alot to see. Several old video games like Pac-Man, many old bubble gum machines and a soda machine. The batting cage machine use tokens and not quarters. For $1 you get 2 tokens, each worth 1 game of 9 pitched balls a piece. You can either choose to play softball or baseball. Select your bat and helmet and head outside to the batting cage. To the right you will find about 4 cages for softball & to the left you will find the baseball cages: a couple slow pitches, a couple medium pitches 1 curve ball pitch and 2 fast ball pitches. It was pretty chilly outside but we ended spending about an hour there and we had blast. This place is not glitzy or appealing to the eye but it worked in a jiffy when I needed to get the boys out of the house. read more

Played the mini golf course. I'm amazed it's still open. The entire course is dilapidated and falling apart. I'm sure it was a very charming course 20 years ago, but I would not come back here. My children said it looks like a scene from a horror movie. read more

This is the most dilapidated mini golf I've ever seen. Ripped turf, debris everywhere, holes flooded (no rain on the day we played), peeling paint, signs on the ground. It was like playing in a haunted amusement park. And cash only. This was once a charming place. It's a trash heap now. Sad. read more

This place is falling apart. Came in today 8:2 around 4:40 pm and the guy behind the counter doesn't say hi, there's some old sign that says "cash only" and when I asked to confirm he just shook his head. I don't know if he was dumb, mute or both. read more

This batting cage is one of the more affordable close to Baltimore. It was $1 for 2 tokens and each token gives you 9 pitches. They have a cage for slow pitch and fastpitch softball, as well as regular baseball. When I went, there was only one slow pitch softball which we ended up sharing with another group. The other slow pitch softball cage was broken, I am hoping they get that repaired soon. They do provide helmets and bats free of charge, but I recommend bringing your own if you have one. read more

I'm very conflicted about this place. On the one hand, everything that people are saying about the upkeep of this place is absolutely true. The maintenance is pitiful. The entire facility is absolutely disgusting, unsanitary, and dilapidated! It was always unkept when I would come here years ago, but when I recently decided to return (as a backup plan due to my usual sports place being closed for the day), I did not think it could have gotten worse! I have never been more wrong in my life! The main building is trapped in the 1980's with missing and/or moldy ceiling panels, dirty everything (floor, walls, etc.), random junk lying about, and the smell of something/someone dead! The mini golf course and batting cages are in complete disarray! Moldy and/or torn astroturf, broken machinery, and water features that look disease ridden on the course! Nearly all the batting machines do not work, and the ones that do work do not throw hittable pitches half the time! A pair of wet, smelly boots lying in the sun to dry in the outdoor area leading to the course and cages! Yikes! I do not remember the staff being rude years ago, but this time around, they were totally awful! They are mean, nasty people who do not care about you or their facility! They only accept cash, and refuse to split large bills! If you ask to split a large bill, you will be met with disturbing language from the gentleman with the bad mustache! 1 star is warranted for cheap prices, and because Yelp does not allow a lower score! Overall, horrible experience! Therefore, I will not be returning, and will be reporting to any registered business entity I can find! read more

I have been to this place quite a few times to get some batting practice. The upkeep and quality of the place is not very good but the on duty staff person has always been friendly or at least cordial. Today was not a good day. One of the cages broke down and would not pitch balls. The worker went to help solve the problem (fix the jam in the machine) but did not refund my token. I have always been able to get another token when this has happened in the past and now the worker is telling me that he is not allowed- this is the straw that broke the camel's back. This place needs to be shut down. It's beyond mismanaged at this point , just downright not safe. Roofing falling off everywhere, ponds of stagnant water breeding mosquitoes,parasites; and frogs left and right, dangerous biting dogs guarding cows next door. It hasn't been cleaned or attended to in any way shape or form in years: sign on locked front door says: "call If you need help" Yet they are open 10am-8pm every day? Went here in Spring 2016 with a 4 friends, who wanted to go here. Like idiots we paid for 2 of them ahead of time. Not realizing that it would take so long and that it was a crappy place. The mini golf course was rundown. Actually, the worst mini golf I had ever been to. Every course had missing pieces of green. Paint was peeling off. There was even one that was completely flooded, and it wasn't like there had been a copious amount of rain before that. No excuse for a flooded course. When we were done, we were tired of mini golfing. We had tried to get our money back (since we had paid for 2 games), but he gave us gift certificates to use for next time. We went again in June 2016, and nothing had improved. But overall, we still had a fun time in spite of it being the worst mini golf I had been to. My friends wanted to do the batting cage & driving range. That was fun. Not as nice as a couple of other places I had been for that, but not as rundown as the mini golf course. read more

It has horrible putting surfaces, standing water, unkept bushes that have grown so large that you are forced to brush up against them while they house a multitude of bees during bee season, and a rude staff that couldn't careless. Well, the last 5 months have been extremely disappointing. My son and I have gone to this place for about 10 years. In 2016 and 2017, we went nearly every Friday (or weekend evening). It was a routine. In the late fall 2017, the fastball machine broke, and they never fixed it. Also, the guy told us multiple times the place closed at 9 pm, even though the website says 10 pm. Regardless, we got in enough hits and were happy enough. Then, they completely closed for a couple months. I think that's a new thing. The website shows that it was open. but a sign was on the door. While we were disappointed, we understood it was likely unprofitable to stay open. We went in the evening earlier this month, but it was closed for the night. We went again tonight figuring the weather was nice enough to be open. That visit led to this review. We drove in tonight at 8:22 pm, and as we drove down the driveway, the lights to the cages went off. Like I said, it's possible their hours are just wrong on the website, but even if the new hours are just until 9 pm, we should still have been able to hit for a half hour tonight. We are extremely frustrated and have decided to start looking for another batting cage. Perhaps we'll hit Laurel or find another place. read more

Ive been coming here for almost 30 years, and while the facility hasn't changed much its still that old reliable spot that I like to come to when the urge to hit up the driving range or batting cages arises. Don't come here expecting anything fancy, I'd say its a bare bones type of place. The driving range is nice that it has 2 level but thats about it. The batting cages and mini golf are at best passable but when you need to just get out and about in quiet howard county it'll get the job done. read more

We went this week with family and played their 19 hole mini golf course. We did this a few years back too and we went here a lot when our now grown kids were little. There is new carpeting on each hole and the course was a lot of fun. The mechanical parts like the rotating windmill was not operating the day we were there so I don't know if it operates usually. The manager and staff member were nice and the manager told us it looked like it was going to rain and that once we were out in the course, he couldn't refund it. So he encouraged us to think about if we wanted to go out --so I said I'm originally from the Midwest where it can rain every day in May, and I told him I think it's going to pass over in a few minutes which it ultimately did and either way we were gonna go try and play! We had a great time. The staff was nice and it was very considerate of the manager to tell us that rain might stop us from playing the whole course. I've only gone for the driving range. This is a fantastic place for beginners or those who are on a budget. $11 for a huge bucket of balls is a great deal. It has cover from the elements, heat for the winter, and fans for the summer. Golf can be a bit intimidating, but you won't have to worry about that at Rocky Gorge. The staff is friendly and approachable, and the other patrons respectful. It's casual dress, so you often see people there who are just looking to get in some quick practice. Although it uses mats and doesn't have a putting green, Rocky Gorge is still a fantastic place for sharpening your skills. I'll definitely be back. read more

Went to the place for batting cages with my husband and two daughters. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a man who was rude and was like "like have you never been here before?? you're supposed to bring smaller bills" and was very standoffish and rude. They need to do a better job with masks and social distancing. Today almost every driving range bay was occupied, and so many people did not have masks. Masks should be required on any part of the facility. Doesn't matter that vaccines are being distributed since there are variants going around and some people who choose not to get vaccinated. I politely asked a customer in the bay next to me to put on a mask, and they said they did not want to. I didn't want an argument, so I left. On my way out, I talked to a staff person about the concern, and they said it is not being enforced in the range area. That is unacceptable. read more

Went to play mini golf. This place looks scary. My man and I debated if it was safe to play here. Overgrown landscape and debris on the green. The green in some of the holes was messed up. our ball disappeared in the lighthouse. Had to go back to office and get new one. There are 2 buildings next to mini golf that say restrooms on one but I saw a couple going in and out of them. I think they're living in them. IDK. It was a little strange. The place creeped me out. This place is pretty run down but it'll do. The batting cages are standard but everything is old as hell. The driving range is filled with every Korean person in Columbia there practicing their swing. Also you'll see the "date couple" or the BF trying to teach his GF how to swing a club. Usually completely wrong and she just ends up frustrated as hell. Then there are the kids who come there with daddy's $700 set of Callaway irons who think they are the best golfer ever but actually it' the first time they've swung a club. I made $10 off this 18 year old kid who was bragging about how far he could drive the ball. Not to brag or be like any of those kids but my "long drive" (not my playing drive) pushes 300-380 yards every time. Kid was talking so much garbage I asked him to put up or shut up. I went to Rocky Gorge on a weekday night to play mini-golf with some friends after dinner. When we were looking for a mini-golf course we were specifically looking for a course with a lot of holes and a lot of features. While the course is aged and could probably use a little fixing up, there was a fun prop at every hole which made for great photo opportunities! For $6.50 (CASH ONLY!) we got a great photo shoot, lots of fun, and 19 holes, including the world's longest mini-golf hole. I can't say it's as good as the places at the beach, but it definitely satisfied our hankering to play mini-golf close to home. read more

Americana at its finest! Spent a family day here and there's so much to do. The prices are more than reasonable, the mini golf is a throwback to the 1950s with 19 holes, batting, and driving, all of which my family of 4 did in an afternoon. I haven't had this much fun in a long time. If you are looking for a top golf atmosphere, look elsewhere. Rocky gorge is unpretentious fun. The mini putt course is fun and decorative. Each hole makes a loud clanking noise when the ball goes in. There are some difficult holes and some easy ones! Very nice array of difficulty.. There are also 19 holes instead of your standard 18! The last hole is super neat... "World's Longest Mini Putt Hole". It was fun to watch the ball roll down the hill like a little roller coaster! :) But I will say the upkeep needs a little help. There are some areas where it seems there used to be water ... And it is impossible to get a hole in one for some of the holes unless of course, you get lucky...I love it when mini putt courses are designed in a fashion where with the right angle...the ball will surely go in! Mini Golf $6-7/person CASH ONLY! 19 holes with a good balance of easy-hard courses. The worlds 'longest' minigolf hole was a bit of a disappointment. It was the last course and I think the easiest course. Some of the courses looked run down and I wish the manager would fix some of the edges with broken brick (lawsuit waiting to happen!). This place is a dump and needs to be shut down. A safe environment does not exist in these batting cages, and the owner is incredibly rude. If you go here, just plan on throwing your money away. The pitching machines do not work correctly, and were throwing most of the balls half way. But don't expect this owner to help you. I guess he thinks were all supposed to know that the machines do not work after a rain. But he has no problem keeping them open to take your money. He just goes nuts and tells you to never come back. He does not have to worry. With customer service like that, I wont come back along with many others who have experienced the same treatment. This is not a well maintained miniature golf course. It's really old and they haven't kept it up. There is dirt and debris everywhere. There is no water in the water features. At the bottom of the 19th hole, there is an empty pond that looks like it is filled with poop. When we talked with the manager about our concerns, he was defensive and blamed players who destroy the course. I wouldn't play here again - even for the $7 price point. read more

This place has seen better days... I remember going here as a kid, and it was really one of the best mini-golf places in the area. Now, it is a broken shell of its former self. Most of the gimmicks on the holes are broken down or not working. Other parts have broken bricks waiting for people to trip and break an ankle. The place is always packed, so make sure you have allocated some time to play because all of the families that like to play at this course, since it is really serving the HoCo region. The place only takes cash, so be prepared! I really wish they would build this place back up to glory, but given the progressive downturn, I'm not expecting it. Disappointing. read more

The owner was incredibly rude. We suggested to change the open time online as they don't open till 11 but it says they open at 10. His response I don't care I get paid the same amount and no one is coming right at 10. While waiting in the parking lot we saw at least 5 people leave because they weren't open at 10. Don't go here. It's disgusting. There is no upkeep. Weeds and overgrown bushes are everywhere. No one has cleaned this place in years. The owner/manager came in and started yelling at the young man working for doing something wrong. My family and I started playing putt putt, but the greens have weeds growing out of them and the bushes are overgrown and hundreds of bees swarming them my son is allergic so we stopped after the first hole and changed to the batting cages. The young man was very helpful and just gave us coins towards the cages instead. This was great until the manager vane in, started yelling at the kid and told him not to give me any coins. He told... Excuse me.. He yelled at me and told me he wasn't giving me any more coins. I told him that my family didn't feel safe and therefore didn't feel safe and he said he didn't care and I should just leave. He continued to yell and scream at me and told me to go to hell and never come back. I asked him why he was arguing with a paying customer and he continues to curse me out. I then asked him if he was reacting this way because my husband and kids are black. He kept yelling so I responded and left. read more

We were told it was confirmed, but then when I called to check in several days before the event I was told by a very snarky person that we definitely could NOT have a party there.
