I played Hobbit's Glen today with my brother in law and paid 83 dollars for 18 holes. The course was in the worst shape, I have seen for a Columbia course and that would charge so much knowing the shape of the course, without telling the golfers that the fairways are dirt and the greens have holes. To add to this no manager was on duty to speak to. That will be the last time I play there and please look at the pictures I posted as well.

Hobbits Glenn is a beautiful course, and the staff is professional and helpful. I also love the pro shop!!!

This was once a fine course with the state farm senior tournament being played there. The course has undergone weather damage and much turf damage it is under repair but still a very patchy service. The greens are in pretty good shape but the rest of the course is subpar perhaps the rain will help fill-in the repaired areas by August.

It's a great place for kids, and I really love that they offer First Tee. It makes the whole environment feel welcoming and like they actually care about helping young players learn and enjoy the game. It's also a really good course if you're a beginner (or just trying to get more comfortable). It doesn't feel overly intimidating, and it's a nice place to work on your game without feeling pressured. That being said, I do think the club could use some upgrades. It would be amazing if they added a club lounge or more of a clubhouse hangout area. Something that gives you a reason to stay after your round, grab a drink, and relax would really elevate the whole experience. Overall, it's a solid course with a lot going for it especially for kids and newer golfers but it has even more potential if they invest in a few improvements.

Never going back it's a one and done for me and if I were to give it a star rating gee I don't know how I can do that there's no minus stars.

The Korean launch monitor system, Golfzon, is good but doesn't get the refined data that the highest end monitors can. The graphics for the system are just okay. The golf balls used are really a toss up. The system auto loads a golf ball onto the tee, which is really cool, but about a third of the time I was trying to load another ball in better shape. You can't use your own there either since they are collected underneath the mat. We rented a bay and were given some complimentary popcorn which was a nice touch. They have a bar area, but we didn't explore their menu this time. Next time, hopefully, I will get a chance to do that. One big drawback is there is only one monitor that has a left-handed setup which is in the back. The putting green is in the middle of the space right when you walk in, but I can't imagine many if any people use it. But there is a nice sitting area in the middle where you can wait until your rented bay opens up. With three of us, we played 18 in two hours easily. And that's with some lag time to warm up and get used to the system. We will be back for sure!

Note: review for Original golf course and outside food service only…read more I really enjoyed my time here playing Turf Valley Resort's Original Course. Bring very walkable with good elevation change is tough to do but it was pulled off very well here. Greens are good and tricky. I definitely want another shot at this place because I got a little greedy at times. Just a good mix of everything. There are a couple of holes where a left to right shot is mandatory from the tips, but otherwise there's a great mix of the tee in terms of shot shape needed and well placed hazards. This is a little more wide open off the tee than the other track. Lots of good people and players out here. The range for members is on top of the hill and has a bent grass level and a Bermuda grass level which is a fantastic way of having a grass range. Otherwise you are next to the parking lot hitting off mats. But this place has a good set of practice areas. The food was solid and the service was fantastic. Definitely a place I would join if it were more convenient for me. I would love to get invited back!

This weekend away was a gift for our birthdays from my MIL; a rare chance to have a peaceful weekend away from our small children. We have been looking forward to it for weeks. It started ok. Wine was brought to our room and the gentleman was very friendly. We made dinner reservations downstairs a couple of weeks ago and Morgan called and confirmed them. She was very polite. Our "sweet escape" package included dinner. The moment the waiter saw that our meal was already paid for he immediately stopped being friendly. He took my plate while I was still in the middle of eating my food and was very off putting. We don't need to be best friends, but just being polite would have been appreciated. We assumed he was upset that gratuity was included but because we ordered additional drinks, we tipped on those also. So I truly don't understand the attitude. Then our night continued down hill. We went up to our room at 9:00 to start getting ready for a nice, quiet evening - only that did not happen. Instead, a wedding party directly below us played loud, bass thumping, room shaking music until 12:17 am. Our room literally shook. It sounded like Operation Iraqi freedom was occurring directly under our room. We called the front desk and asked when it was going to stop and were told "well it's a wedding and the problem is your room is directly over it". Please explain how this is our fault? It's absolutely absurd for a spa resort to have a policy that allows this kind of noise this late at night. It's now 12:34 am. The music has stopped but they are still out on the balcony screaming and hollering; and the wafting smell of marijuana is enough to make Bob Marley want to come visit. Our weekend away has been ruined. We are both tired and ready to go home. Never. Again.

The prices for a drink and a small bite were fair - only $10 for a beer and side of fries - but nothing special taste wise. A buddy got wings and said they weren't worth the cost. We tried many wines, including: -the Crossvines Cabernet Franc-raisin and almost Nebbiolo overtones; -the Crossvines Barn Door red blend-balanced and warm with a hint of spice yet low tannin; -the Fairway rosé, which was light with great flavor and perfect with spring foods; -and the Riesling and then house ciders, with cherry and peach popular with different people. We settled on a bottle of the White Blend, the "Front Porch". It was not groundbreaking yet likable worked as a clean canvas that went with a lot of foods, not oaky, tangy, sweet, or dry. I enjoyed the butternut squash soup. I watched my friend enjoying the Farmer's Market salad and wondered if I should have gotten that instead! My friend enjoyed her burger and fries. The burger was pretty big and looked satisfying. My friend said the crab dip was really good, too. The best part for me was trying their wines while engaging with our server and the general manager. We talked about some of the events like wine tasting and menu changes and line dancing. We saw more of the gorgeous venue and bookable space for 300 indoors. It was relaxing and enjoyable and while I couldn't eat many items due to a wheat allergy, I definitely wanted to return soon and enjoy the backdrop and support a local winery.
