We were in the 1 bedroom cabin (cabin 1). The site does state that it is rustic, but I would have thought for $160/night, it would have air conditioning in 98 degree weather. We had to keep the windows open all the time which wouldn't have been an issue if the screens on the windows actually fit. The mosquitoes and bugs are horrible here as this place is right on the water and they slipped right through where the screens didn't fit. We ended up using the bathroom Hand towels to try to close the gaps a little bit. The toilet ran constantly while we were there which made it a little hard to sleep in addition to the heat. The shower drain did not drain well and we were standing in about an inch of dirty water Anytime we took a shower. They did have a kitchen with basic necessities, but also had a sign in the bathroom that said not to use the towels for cleaning, but then didn't leave any kind of towel, washcloth, or paper towels in the kitchen. We did eat at the restaurant on site and while the food was OK, the service was terrible. There was only one server on each night and over the weekend It was pretty busy. While the servers were nice and did their best, you could tell they were overwhelmed. The restaurant is also warm as there's no air where the tables are either. Overall, we still liked our stay here, even with all the negatives because it was in the trees and we felt like we were at camp. The staff were all nice and friendly and our day out on the pontoon boat was pretty awesome. If you don't mind, rustic and hot, go ahead and book here in July. read more

Excellent location and friendly staff. In room heater didn't work, but a space heater was provided and warmed the room up well after a couple hours. Tv didn't really work (kept saying no signal even though it is connected to the wifi), but you can borrow a dvd from the camp store if you want a relaxing night in. Took a long time for water to warm up for hand washing and showers. The restaurant is very good for dinner and the views are stunning. read more

WARNING to anyone thinking about going here. We had a reservation for Sept 7, 2025 and when we arrived they could NOT provide a key for the last available room/chalet that they had assigned to us! The clerk actually climbed in thru an open window to open the front door then said he would bring us the key. He never could find the key and called the manager Eric Swan who told us we needed to call Booking.com to cancel the reservation and they would contact him to get confirmation that we cancelled. After a week and a half, Eric Swan has REFUSED to respond to Booking.com after their multiple attempts by phone and email to contact him. He lacks integrity and is engaging in FRAUDULENT PRACTICES, expecting to get paid for a room that he could NOT provide a key for. I guess he expected us to be happy sitting like prisoners inside a room without a key and not be able to leave to explore the lake because there was no way to secure our belongings or expected us to climb in thru a window any time we would be coming back to our room. If YOU DON'T HAVE A KEY FOR A ROOM DON'T EXPECT TO GET PAID FOR RENTING IT OUT! read more

This could be compared to a sleep away camp vibe, but without the counselors and organized activities. ;) We stayed in a very tiny hotel room (one of five rooms in a log cabin style building), but there are also family sized cabins and there are campsites for both tents and RVs. It's well off the beaten path but surprisingly there is cell service. However, they encourage you to instead enjoy the beautiful wooded lakefront surroundings by renting a boat, or catching a sunset, or simply by sitting around a campfire- not bad ideas. There is a small general store, a fish cleaning station, bathrooms for the tent campers, and a full-service restaurant (with limited hours). The restaurant was the only disappointment, as the food is below average but the prices are very high end, which I guess is the result of having no competition nearby. I can understand why people would enjoy being out in nature- the setting is awesome- but perhaps bring your own dinner provisions. read more

I love to support small family owned places. Our stay was "ok". Great that they allow dogs, and staff were friendly enough though clearly didn't have a great grasp on the job. We were going to stay an extra night, so processed that verbally (no paperwork etc). When we found out we'd be staying in an RV with a leaky roof instead of a hotel room we cancelled our stay. Front desk refused to refund any of the money (including pet fee and cleaning fee) even though we were never informed of a cancellation time frame. This sucked to be charged $146 for an RV stay we did not use. But what really sucks is the bedbugs we brought home. We have spent about $200 on home remedies. We had to dispose of a mattress. Our next step is to hire a professional pest control company. Looks like the charge for that will be around $2000. DO NOT STAY HERE. Restaurant is worth visiting. read more

Funky rustic run down little Rv fishing resort. The little room we had was at first we thought really cute and just fine for us...the room seemed clean. There is a very unorganized little store....and the restaurant/bar. Restaurant keeps odd hours and the food was just ok....service just ok.... Prices are high. Upper Klamath lake is more like a swamp at this time of year ( summer) ....I will warn you there are literally SWARMS of mosquitoes....we were eaten alive even with Deet repellent we were chewed up! The bugs are thick at the little motel room area where we stayed. The hand railings are all very old and too low, nothing it seems is up to code. If you are disabled beware because there is no ADA code ramps or anything. No swimming here due to algae....don't let your dogs drink any lake water, the contaminants from the algae can be deadly. After the first night sleeping in our room I developed a rash on my left leg, we both felt something was not right, bedding was either not clean at check in or? The views are great at restaurant but not the rooms, you see RV's. It's an inexpensive place to go but the drawbacks for us are just too many. read more

Pleasantly surprised with the food and service. Very relaxing after a day of kayaking on the lake. Started off with the soup and salad. My wife had the fish, salmon, cooked perfectly and I had the steak, Probably wouldn't of know about this place if we didn't happen upon the RV park, we needed a place to stay and they had one spot left. I know there are some mixed reviews of this place, but I have to say my experience was five stars. I did a single night stay in the winter, so I can't speak on all of the amenities. They were quick to communicate via text outside of office hours. They unlocked my room for me and even turned on the heater. The small business feel was exactly what I needed. They recommended watching the sunrise on the lake. And even in 13° weather, it was worth it! I would definitely recommend if you need a simple stay with personable communication. read more

Got there at 545 and only well done pieces left. It was NOT the end of the roast either. Green beans were COLD. Not warm....cold. No clam chowder which was offered to us when we order. Ready.....prime rib was $45. Prime rib, salmon, 2 Moscow mules and a rum and coke.....$110. Sorry but my average bill 1.5 miles away was about $60 and I was waaaaay more satisfied. ***DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS!!! If you read one review, let this be it!*** Let me just start with the biggest problem: The second I stepped into my room I was hit with the strongest, most unbearable odor. It definitely smelled like some sort of Pine Sol type cleaner, and as if several bottles were splashed everywhere. I have never in my life stepped foot anywhere that reeked so badly of such overwhelming carcinogenic chemicals. I opened the door to the outside to try and air it out while I thought about what to do next. Upon stepping outside, I met a couple who were experiencing the same issue with their room next door to me. The woman was feeling ill and spitting onto the ground because she could taste it in her mouth, which I could as well. By this time with both our doors open you could easily smell this from outside quite far away from the rooms. We discussed how we were both feeling light headed, with headaches, nauseated, sore throats, etc. We flagged a staff member, David, and explained the issue. He went into my room and immediately agreed it was overwhelming and he too would not be able to stay in one of those rooms. He suggested going to the owner's other property a few miles down the road. I did not feel much hope that it would be any better, but what choice did I have? It was getting dark soon, I was in the middle of nowhere, I was a 7 hour drive away from home, and had no idea what my backup would be. I checked in with the owner's young son who went to check the new room with me. Immediately it was the same strong chemical odor. He even admitted he got a headache almost immediately! I wanted my money back and to get out of there asap so I could figure out where I was going to stay before it got very late. His mother, the owner, kept calling his cell phone and trying to talk to me on it. Making excuses, barely listening to me, completely talking over me, and refusing to give me a refund. I was not interested in playing these games and went back to my car to research where I could go in this bleak situation. I had to go home and never saw Crater Lake! They also totally misrepresent themselves online. They give these great descriptions and the photos look alright. It's a lie! The rooms do not have a view like described. There's RVs parked out front and you can tell just a little bit that there's a nice view in the distance, but your view is RVs. (The nice view is apparently from the restaurant.) It says private entrance with outdoor furniture but it's just the doorstep that everyone else shares who are renting these tiny, abysmal rooms next to you, with an old, gross, beach fold-out type chair. No one was available for check in. At 5pm it was locked up and myself and others had to seek help up at the restaurant. Then the cook, David, came down to do check in. Which was basically saying just go to your room-- it's open. You can obviously tell he is stretched thin doing the cooking and everything else at this "resort." Other reviews said the wait time for food was long. It's obvious why, because they are understaffed and doing too many roles than they can handle. For what it's worth, David was very nice and understanding. I honestly felt bad for him because it wasn't his fault and I empathized with what it would be like to work at such a disaster "resort." Other reviews state how rude the owner is and how they've gotten scammed and never got their money back. Heed these warnings! I am telling you right now to save yourself from this, it's not worth it. Save your money for a little longer so you can afford to go somewhere that you can actually enjoy! read more

This place COULD BE very good, BUT the water pressure SUCKS!.... 16 pounds MOST OF THE TIME. Sometimes 24-30 pounds (but only for a VERY SHORT TIME!), and every once in a great while 40 pounds for a few minutes, but ALMOST ALWAYS ONLY 16 pounds. I've politely mentioned and complained countless times to no avail. For personal reasons I'm staying here long term paying GOOOOD MONEY and nothing has been done about it. They know they have a problem, AND it's a cheap fix (they just need to replace their pressure regulator at their water tank), but evidently a few dollar fix isn't worth customer satisfaction and future repeat customers and business. Apparently no foresight or concern of future business and THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS of future money from me alone, not to mention other peoples' money. Mind boggling! Would be an excellent place to stay, but horrible horrible HORRIBLE water pressure is an understandable dealbreaker. What a shame! Since repeatedly telling the people here about the problem doesn't work, I'm hoping this catches someone's attention and works. Nonetheless, my honest review of Rocky Point Resort is that it COULD BE an awesome place to stay, but not having shit for water pressure, and any care to fix it cancels out all the good points. I stayed at one of the tent sites along the water here. Check in was simple and you can basically park at your camp site. At the camp site there's running water (nearby), a fire pit and picnic table with benches. You could probably fit 3 single/double tents in one spot with a car, but it would be crowded. There was a ton of mosquitos so be aware of that. The bathroom and showers near the store at the center of resort are clean and warm. The restaurant is kind of a miss besides the view of the lake. Service is very friendly, but they run on less than a skeleton crew which means the menu will be limited (they had one set breakfast when I went there regardless of their menu) and the service will be slow since there's like two staff total. The food was fine otherwise. I guess one thing I could not overlook were the huge amount of dead mosquitos and flies on the window sill next to my table, which was pretty gross. We also rented some kayaks which was fine if slightly pricey. Originally we wanted to rent a motor boat, but be aware they did not let you pilot those even if you have a boaters card which was disappointing. I'd stop here again if needing a cheap place to stay near crater lake. I'd just skip the restaurant and come more prepared to cook. read more

Took a day trip out here for a little nature and a little margarita. Beautiful area with gorgeous views from the restaurant, dock, and campground. Definitely a Southern Oregon experience tho. Lots of visible junk and clutter near the restaurant - I'm sure it's all very useful and necessary, but it looks like a mess. No beer on tap. Husband was looking for something "local." No dice. And when I ordered a margarita I was informed that there was no choice besides Patron. Ok, fine. I'm glad you stock good booze. But maybe offer to knock a few bucks off the price? A $15 margarita is a little bit ridiculous, especially because I had no other choice. There's just a certain amount of "above and beyond" that I have yet to find in Southern Oregon hospitality and service. It usually seems like it's more of "just enough to get by." I didn't look at the menu, so I can't report on vegan, gluten-free options just yet. But I could see myself coming back here to rent a kayak or a paddle boat or something. It really is a nice spot. This review is for the boat rental only. A few of us decided to rent a boat for the day and Rocky Point was the only place that had available boats for rent. Prices were higher than all the other places in the area and I was will to pay it since that was our last day in the area. Giving two stars for the friendly staff that helped us with the boat launch and docking once we were done. However, the pontoon boat that we rented was very dirty and there were spider webs and dead bugs everywhere. It was very obvious that no attempt was made to clean or prepare the boat for our rental. read more

We stayed in an RV spot, right next to the boat launch. The location is right on the canoe trail so we launched from our site and had many miles of calm kayaking with lots of wildlife. We saw a raccoon swimming, beavers, pelicans, geese, grebes, herons, egrets, a bald eagle, and hundreds of red winged blackbirds. When we arrived, we were greeted by Chris, and he was so friendly and helpful! This resort is so lucky to have him. He was always accommodating with a smile. Throughout our stay he promoted the resort in a positive way, even talking about its future plans. Thank you Chris for making our stay perfect! We did not use the restrooms or restaurant during our stay. We paid $5/day extra for high speed wifi, but regular wifi was available for no charge. We were able to make and receive phone calls with our Verizon cell service. read more

I originally booked this place from 12/27-12/28, but had a change of plans and management was super nice to change the days to 12/28-12/29. Everything seemed fine I had booked through Expedia so I didn't know about all of the extra charges. The email said that there would be someone on site until 7 pm for check in. I got a call around 5 pm letting me know that my cabin was ready and the keys were inside so I didn't get to "check in" with management, they did let me know to call them if I needed anything. When I got to the cabin the place was nice and cozy everything seemed nice. They have silverware, some pots and pans and a couple of spices. As well as a couple of board games available. I had no worries until I got to reading the binder that has all of the information and menu. It said that dog fee for not reporting dogs would be $50, so I called them back and no answer at all I tried a good 4/5 times. At this point I was really tired so I kind of just let it go and figured I would let them know the next day. The area has pretty good reception so the WIFI is not exactly needed for your phone. Regardless the WIFI would truly not connect to my iPad, I waited for a good 5 minutes and restarted my device a couple of times. Eventually it connected and then lost connection 30 minutes later. So not the best WIFI but it doesn't take away too much. When I woke up at 7am for the amazing sunrises this place does have to offer, I noticed my cabin had NO electricity or hot water. I had to wait until 8 am for an employee to be on site and they let me know that it was an issue with a couple of buildings and just my cabin. I let them know about my pet and they said that they would make a note. We didn't have electricity until maybe 9 which cut a lot of our time trying to get everything done for check out by 11. I am sure the electricity issue was a random once in a while thing but it was definitely a inconvenience. I want to LOVE this place but I had so many small issues in such a small time period that it leaves you thinking. read more

I got to camp here for a few nights and it was beautiful. Going off season is great time to explore the area. They had a variety of boats to rent and is right on the one of waterways. The diner is on the second floor and offers an amazing view of the Klamath lake. Beautiful at sunset and sunrise seeing all the birds flying above the water looking for that perfect meal. The camp sites all had full hook up with easy access. The staff was very welcoming and provided great suggestions on local sites. We stayed at 2 different cabins during our stay to fish all weekend. Both were very clean and roomy, everything we needed was in the room and so many extras in the large cabin. We were even more pleased with the smaller cabin, it was perfect. Michelle was amazing, especially considering she made our reservations, checked us in, worked the store, prepped and cleaned the cabins, rented us the kayaks, and even fixed a heater while we were there- I can't say enough about her, even being very busy! Our entire family planned a week long camping trip here during Father's Day weekend. Most of my family had come before but this was my first time here. We booked our 5 campsites well ahead of time and I was told they book up quickly. Especially if you want the good spots. My sister and her family have a fifth wheel so they prefer campsite 14 due to the ease of getting in and out of. After watching several other trailers and RVs try to take that turn into campsites 6-14, I see why. I found this place to be very peaceful and a perfect place for us all to get away and unwind. We brought a 4 person boat so we were able to launch it from the deck, which was nice. Everyone fished all day, it seemed. Sadly, no one caught anything. Mosquitos were annoying but you kind of expect it being you're by the lake. The bathrooms/showers were pretty decent for being public bathroom. You can't complain about running water when you're camping, right? I used the shower onsite a few times but was able to jump in my sisters' trailer a few times to shower. ; ) The owners were very nice and helpful. John was great and even let us borrow a rake to get our campsites all cleaned up for the little ones -- and even a pair of horseshoes in case we wanted to get a game going. We also ventured out a few times and this campsite location was about an hour or so away from Crater Lake. A must-see if you're in the area. read more
