George - at the front desk - was so kind and easy to talk to. Daniel was our waiter most nights. He, too, was kind. It seemed they never had enough staff. Perhaps that's why when I ordered the summer spinach salad - but got no spinach (I can't eat arugula and it was mostly arugula - with like 3 spinach leaves). We also were never made aware that there is a shortage of bananas (I love bananas). We were put in the wrong room the first night. We had no clue until we tried to charge our morning coffee to the room. Max (he was so busy and made delicious coffee) said a name that was most definitely not mine. Gayle and I spent 3 nights this week at the Running Y in one of the WorldMark properties. Many thanks to Jim and Erin for the generous hospitality. The 2-story chalet had a ski lodge quality and was quite clean and comfortable for 4 Adults just hanging out and catching up. The tree filled grounds and surrounding scenery are most pleasant, although it's a bit of a "Tale of 2 Cities" considering the depressed nature of the Klamath Falls townsite. It's a good 15 mile drive to Town, so we brought much of the food with us. There's a grocery store here for incidentals, and with a lot more available alcohol than I would have expected. I guess in relative isolation, one can always drink! I'm not a golfer, but the course here is gorgeous. They also have a decent gym of which everything I needed for my workout routine was there. There's also a nice pool, and decent modest hiking options that all 4 of us enjoyed. Revisiting the isolation of this place, Crater Lake is maybe 90 minutes away (day trip!), with Ashland maybe a little less. In the case of the home of the Oregon Shakespeare Theatre, heading out for matinee and an early dinner (and back) (weather permitting) is a definite option. read more

Running Y is weird because it's like a 5 star resort but with 3 star features. Confusing? Definitely. The grounds are GORGEOUS but they're literally in the middle of nowhere. A 15 min drive to the Klamath city center. There's a plethora of amenities on the grounds but it seemed most were closed or abandoned? The food at the restaurant inside is REALLY good. I mean like really good. Killer happy hour deals and big portions. The rooms are outdated and don't feel the most sanitary. The undercuts on the doors are HUGE so you can literally hear everything from your neighbors room next door. The lobby is gorgeous but the elevator is miniscule and the hallways are outdated. Such a weird vibe? Maybe a Klamath 5 but an anywhere else 3? read more

Great hotel! We arrived late at night and there was no one at check-in but we called the number on the door and were given a code to access our key card from a lock. It was the first time I have seen something like this but it was quite convenient. The rooms were very clean, and the best part was that the beds are extremely comfortable, extracly what is needed after a long day of driving and/or hiking. During the day we were given a list of places  The only downside was that the wi-fi was really slow, but it might be due to the amount of people there before the July 4th weekend. read more

Beautiful resort with incredible views! We stayed in the WorldMark section in building 2 and had fantastic views of the surrounding trees, golf course, and upper Klamath lake! Family friendly accommodations including tennis courts, pickleball courts, volleyball, playground, indoor pool, hot tub, and kiddy pool. Plus a weight room and lounge; there is something for everyone here! Rooms were spacious and stocked very well for our large family. Our third visit to Running Y but had not been there for ten years. It is a wonderful place...and really a bargain compared to other similiar facilities... It's like a mini Sunriver resort (where I live) and a much better value. Golf at an Arnold Palmer course 50% less than Sunriver, Restaurant very good...a real bargain compared with Sunriver..horseback riding, ice skating rink . The staff is very accommodating.. So here's the tea on this place: the property and lodge staff are lovely but if you stay here be prepared to feel like you've been thrown into the middle of an ugly divorce dispute between the permanent residents and their HOA vs the Lodge and its guests. You will pay resort prices but the perm residents will make sure you know you are not welcome and they don't want you on the property to the point you either don't even want to use any of the amenities or it is impossible to enjoy using them. Additionally if you book one of their vacation houses you will have to go through a third party and if you need assistance or to dispute any of the charges, be prepared to contact your bank because the lodge and the third party booking are just going to keep passing the buck and not actually offer any assistance. So so so very disappointed with the Running Y's event/banquet meal. I was just a convention that was held at the Running Y. The meals were $52 a plate for prime rib and $46 for chicken dinner. Dinner was served buffet style. Dinner was supposed to start @ 6. A salad bowl was placed on the table at 5:20 with hockey puck dinner rolls. By the time I was able to get to our 8 top table at 6:05 all the salad was gone with no refill, the rolls were still there as they were not edible. I was served 4 small pieces of potato, 15 green beans and about 5-6oz of prime rib. Potatoes were still raw in the middle, green beans were under cooked and the fat on the prime rib was congealed as it was so cold. Not sure if I can post a picture, if I can the plate is a standard 12" plate. read more

We love this resort when we visit Oregon. The wildlife and nature sell it for us. We enjoy the peace and quiet it offers and the views are magical. Just sitting on the porch of a chalet is wonderful as you watch the sunrise or set and deer roaming around. The rentals come with everything you need besides food. There's even a BBQ and some come with a hot tub. Our kids favorites are the indoor pool and the arcade. The arcade is small but still fun. Walking around the resort is beautiful and relaxing as well. Although, some hills are rather steep so keep in mind if going down one, you'll have to come back up it. Lol. On the property is a little store, a bar, 2 restaurants and a golf course. Horseback riding, boating, fishing and ice skating is also available. A little slice of heaven is what you will find when staying at the Running Y resort. read more

A large golf resort with a good bend towards walking, bike riding, and general fitness. Lodge rooms were large with acceptable bathrooms, separate WC facilities. Of most curious nature was the inclusion of 4 paper coffee cups in the room, no water glasses - I was told it was hotel policy and one could ask at the bar for a glass or plastic. A weird nod to being environmally aware. We also expected the Ruddy Duck to be a true dining room, not a cafe sort menu offered in an area off the bar. Costumer service is severely lacking. We're here for a two day stay. Getting in after driving for many hours we were excited to look over all the amenities. Our youngest (10) couldn't wait to wake up and take a dip in the community pool. We looked over our rental binder and checked pool hours. The next morning we headed down as a family to the pool, we no more then broke the threshold of the community room to this greeting "so, kids can't swim until 10." It was nine and she couldn't be bothered to even saying "good morning? If you are going to have people working behind your front desk, representing a resort, please teach them some etiquette. A simple " Good morning, welcome in, just to let you know we have a schedule and kiddos aren't permitted in the pool until 10am to allow adults a quiet swim." Something, anything would've been better than "so,....." communication and delivery are important. We, as a first time guest left feeling the interaction shamed for not knowing. Hopefully we have better interactions with the rest of the staff. read more

Wow, what a fantastic stay! I don't understand the poor reviews of this place because it was wonderful. We split our time between Running Y and then up to Sunriver. For me, Running Y beats Sunriver for many reasons: Running Y has less crowds, unbeatable views, kayak access to Klamath Lake, and a fantastic on site restaurant. Rooms were clean and cozy. We got a balcony room that overlooked the front of the hotel and the parking lot. The wooden scenery is beautiful and I enjoyed the view to keep an eye on my vehicle with a kayak. The balcony makes a difference - gives you a great space to read or hang out. The restaurant is great! The hamburger, delicious turkey sandwich and breakfast was especially good. I didnt care for my thai chicken salad. The outdoor dining views are breath taking. The service is awesome- what a fantastic wait staff!!! Friendly and attentive. Stayed for 8 nights at the resort and everything was great. Grounds were beautiful, rooms very nice and all staff were friendly and helpful. We had a amazing weekend at the Running Y. We stayed at a guest house and was comfortable for a long weekend. It was clean, had all the amenities and quiet. We had two issues with internet and another item not working and the maintenance gentleman, Rowan, was prompt, courteous and professional. Issued solved within 30 minutes. Every interaction with the front desk, Sarah, Cassidy was pleasant and felt like they took pride in Job and wanted to help us have the best experience possible. We brought our dog and the facilities and trails were more than accommodating for her. She loved the deer and fat squirrels. We never left her alone in the house so she had no issues with barking. In many ways, marketers are evil geniuses. If you call something a "timeshare property" we expect one thing, but when you call something a "resort" we expect something elevated and of high quality. A "Resort' conjures up images of gorgeous grounds, newer accommodations and remarkable service, all which justify higher prices. A timeshare property, a category pertaining to the Running Y Ranch, rightfully conjures up images of nice but older units, deferred maintenance, nice common grounds, family friendly facilities, and generally lacking and often unprofessional service. The Running Y Ranch is firmly in the second category. It works for a family, but it is not a resort. We booked through Expedia, so it wasn't clear from the name or the price, that Running Y was in part a Worldmark Timeshare property. Some nice things, the landscaping and setting of this property is nice. It's one of the better places to stay in Klamath Falls. We were kindly given early check in, and they did admit when they made an error. The unit was family friendly, good for work (free WiFi and a small upstairs office in the unit) three bedrooms and not unlike booking an Airbnb. Some things firmly in the time share camp: unprofessional staff. We were bullied by a staff member for a 12:30 late check out (vs. 11:00 am) that we negotiated with a colleague, because the staff member who came to the door to push us out of the unit was not aware of the earlier agreement and would not stop with an explanation. It's was a highly charged situation, and it didn't have to be that way but the staff member was anchored on their position and couldn't get off it long enough to listen. It was remarkable for the fact that its never okay to bully guests at a resort, but at a time share, that's often part of the deal. We called the on-site spa to make reservations, but they never answered and they never returned any of our messages the full three days we stayed on the property. Definitely not something that would happen at a resort spa. Calls to the front desk were routed to a central reservations platform, not on the property. They couldn't even forward to the front desk, and weren't familiar with the property (for example, they told us to "walk downstairs" for help, meanwhile our unit was a three minute car drive from the front desk.) Our only option was to call back multiple times and hope we'd get someone on site. The staff did later apologize for the confusion about the strong arm check out (which resulted in their bullying approach) and had that poor interaction not occurred, we may have had a better impression of Running Y. We did enjoy the larger facility (3 bedroom unit) although we found older appliances in the unit, mold in the washing machine, a birds nest in the exterior ducting (I actually liked hearing the nest of babies in my room, but many may not) giant mushrooms outside, not ideal on a property catering to small children or pets, the blinking exterior lights that need to be replaced, dead bugs not cleaned away, and a mouse trap under our bathroom sink. In all, there were some aspects that were clearly not at resort caliber. read more

Beautiful resort priced high for the amenities and views. The food is trash though and it's really disappointing given the price of the resort. We ordered the chicken and waffles and the brisket hash. The brisket tasted more like meatloaf...and the other meal, well, just take a look at the photo. Just checked out and glad we came! Clean room and lovely staff. Everyone was friendly. The property was immaculate. The hotel room was new and non-carpeted we love that! My husband and I spent one night at the Running Y on a road trip from California with our 2 dogs. The grounds were beautiful, room great for dogs with a patio. Booked last minute at a very reasonable price. Downside: fire alarm in the middle of the night (everything ok but difficult to navigate with dogs. Restaurant had outside seating (only place we could sit with dogs) but even though we could walk inside and through lobby with dogs, we couldn't walk through bar/restaurant with dogs so had to walk around building. Weird set up for being dog friendly but really not a big deal. Close to Crater Lake which we went to the next day. Would absolutely stay there again. read more

Absolutely LOVE this place. It's super clean. Very homey feeling. There is a bathroom on every floor and a beautiful staircase that you can choose to use instead of the elevator if you wish. Big sprawling stairs very easy to use. The rooms were very large and felt more like a condo / apartment then a hotel room. We had a huge kitchen too. Easily accessible for those in a wheelchair or with mobility issues. The golf course provides stunning views while dining or just taking a stroll on the property. Me and my family spent an astonishing 5 nights at the Running Y. It was your typical hotel with a bathroom, bed, and a mini fridge with nothing in it (used to keep food and drinks fresh). We went to the pool/hot tub and it was ok. The sauna reaches up to 64 degrees Celsius. The Ruddy Duck restaurant has nice food but the wait time for drinks were 28 minutes. They had a shortage of staff at the restaurant so it may vary, There is a mini golf course and a golf course for you athletes. There is a market in the resort that has hot chocolate, etc. and is faster then the restaurant, but doesn't have much choices. Please rate this helpful as I spent a lot of time writing this. read more

Our favorite summer get-outs destination. First time we visited this place was on our way to Seattle back in 2018. Back then we only halted for one night but that stay convinced us to return here in summer of 2021. We stayed at the lodge for 2nights. They have the world famous Arnold Palmer designed golf course. There are lot of outdoor activities for the entire family from small kids to grown-ups to older adults. Definitely recommend this little gem situated right in the heart of Klamath Fall forests. read more

We stayed here when we ended up in Klamath Falls on a road trip. The property ambiance is nice and relaxing, however, everything else about staying in the hotel is like they are trying to suck every dollar they can from you before you leave. It's not set up with the consumers comfort in mind. We had shotty Wi-Fi and somehow I wasn't surprised when my husband came in and told me we missed the complementary coffee which ended at 7am! Upon arrival the property looks amazing. The entrance to the lodge is very nice and the lobby/foyer is nicely decorated. The lodge interior is grand with a ton of wood and windows. Nothing not to like. Gorgeous. The check-in process was very simple and easy. The staff welcomed us and and was very friendly. The room was nicely decorated and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the room had a nice view of the golf course. The bathroom sink area was nice but the shower had been neglected. Paint and drywall is separating from each other. The fan in the bathroom did not work which created a ton of steam. For the most part, the room was pretty clean like the rest of the hotel. I would reccomend staying here if you are looking for a nice place to stay near Crater Lake (1 hour drive away). Cheers Always! read more

Very average room for the "upgrade" to a golf view. Asked for a balcony and got one. Balcony was dirty and didn't look like it had been swept for a long time. I went to the front desk and asked for a broom thinking they would take the hint and clean it. Instead they gave me the broom to clean it myself. We stayed at Running Y on our way home from June Lake, CA to Portland, OR. We had a toddler and a Goldendoodle in tow. The hotel is a little off the path we were taking, but there's not many options with good reviews in Klamath Falls. We loved the room--tall ceilings, quiet, nice amenities. We also enjoyed the pool and playground. Lots of space for our dog to run. The one disappointment we had was not having any idea we needed to make reservations at Ruddy Duck Restaurant. We went down around 6pm and were told we couldn't be seated until at least 8:30pm after being asked if we made reservations. It's at least a 15-20 min drive into town and with trying to get our toddler to bed at a decent time, we were flustered and disappointed. We just wished it would have been mentioned beforehand so we could plan better, especially considering it's the only option within 15 minutes. read more

I stumbled upon this lovely Inn, 2 days ago. Traveling from Yakima, WA. Stayed in Redmond, for four days with my sister. Moving in to CA to visit the rest of my siblings and best friends. Before I left Redmond, I wanted to make sure I had a place to stay in Klamath Falls. I booked a room at a place, I won't mention. In the midst of all the fires everywhere, I needed to feel safe. Especially traveling alone being a woman. I looked for better choices, I found it, nestled in the mountains! Once I got to the Running Y Ranch Resort, I knew I was home. From the staff at the front desk, to the ladies in the restaurant. I decided to stay another day! They remembered my name, asked how my stay was. I wish I could remember everyone's name, the person you sticks out by name is Emily! The bartender, we talked about wine. The food was top notch! Indoor outdoor seating, what a win. The room is wonderful, the bedding is super soft, great choice of pillows. Housekeeping staff is wonderful! I will miss this like home, I leave in the morning.
