I was really excited to finally try Rocky Rd's Ice Cream Parlor after driving by it several times. I'm a big fan of local creameries, especially when traveling, and I always enjoy sampling flavors before deciding which will be the winning scoops. I ended up choosing the rocky road. It was good overall, with a generous amount of marshmallows and chopped almonds, but the texture was a bit too soft for my liking. The small bits of chopped almonds just added to my dissatisfaction of the texture. While the taste was enjoyable, it wasn't something I'd go out of my way to get again especially since I was treated rudely. Unfortunately, what really turned me off was the service. While I was waiting for my waffle cone, my son was trying a few flavors and really liked one with Butterfinger bits. He asked me to get a sample so I can try how good it is. The young woman helping us (with blondish-red hair) clearly noticed we had already ordered and responded with a rude, dismissive look. She handed me the sample and said, "I need to take care of these other customers," in a tone that made us feel like we were an inconvenience. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary. Sampling is a normal part of the experience at ice cream shops, and the interaction felt unwelcoming. Because of that experience, I didn't recommend this place to others in my group, and I wouldn't return. I would have been happier with a soft serve cone at the Sedona McDonald's! read more

The combination and blend of flavor was just *chef's kiss*. I thought this flavor was pretty unique and different from most coffee flavored ice creams. My runner-up was the Red Rock Toffee--it had that lush almost brown butter taste with just the right amount of sweetness. It was so addictive, you'll keep coming for more bites of it. I would give them 3.5 stars if that was an option. First the positives: They drew a good crowd the night that we went and they have a decent number of interesting sounding flavors. However, Their chocolate ice cream was just ok, and I was disappointed that they didn't have anything else chocolate-based, like double chocolate or chocolate fudge. Also they don't have sugar cones, only cake cones, waffle cones and cups. I can't remember the last time I had an ice cream cone in a cake cone, but it was less than ideal. And finally, there is no water fountain or cups for water. They do sell plastic bottles of water. It is a solid ice creamery, but not an outstanding one. read more

A friendly gentleman was working and let us know if we wanted to try any samples. I saw the pumpkin chai flavor and instantly knew I had to get it. They had a decent variety of flavors, but nothing really stood out to me other than trying one of their seasonal flavors. They also had apple pie, which my mom ordered. We both ordered one scoop of each in a cup since it was already pretty expensive for a single scoop. The ice cream itself was super creamy, and almost a little gummy, making it kind of difficult to scoop up easily, but I didn't mind it. I'm not picky when it comes to ice cream (as long as it's not icy). The pumpkin spice really shone through in the pumpkin chai. My mother also really enjoyed the apple pie. The vanilla ice cream itself had a creamy texture and she especially appreciated the potent cinnamon flavor it had. It also had nice pie chunks throughout! Economically, it was a better deal to go with the double scoop since it's only about $2 more than a single scoop. The more you know. 9/10 - highly recommend if you're in Sedona! read more

They have a limited selection of ice cream and sorbet, but everything they serve is high quality. My wife had vanilla and pistachio, I had Coyote Tracks (peanut butter ice cream) and Sea Salt Caramel Cheesecake. All ice cream was delicious, but my flavor combinations clashed. Suggest asking for tasting samples if you are not sure. I will return as the prices are reasonable for high quality ice cream. Bowls are free, but they charge extra for both regular or waffle cones. Five Stars for Kaopri I stopped in while charging my Tesla nearby and had the sweetest interaction with Kaopri. I came in hoping for a Sedona Glass bottled tap (no fluoride!) instead of arrowhead water, and even though it's not the usual request, she kindly made it happen from the filtered water. Being vegan (no dairy) and avoiding sugar and caffeine can make me a bit of an unusual customer -- no ice cream for me -- but she treated me with such warmth and understanding. Her kindness turned what could've been just a quick stop into a genuinely pleasant moment. They're lucky to have someone like Kaopri representing them -- friendly, thoughtful, and so welcoming. PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE CHIP (8/10) - I didn't get much of the "fudge"... but the peanut butter ice cream was really good and the chocolate chips throughout added a nice texture! RASPBERRY CHIPOTLE (8/10) - The raspberry flavor was fantastic! The chipotle flavor was extremely subtle... I almost wish it was more present than it was. Gave us food poisoning. My boyfriend and I stopped here for ice cream on 4/9/2026. I immediately mentioned to him that it tasted sour. Thinking it was just made with some different ingredients we ate it. We both got the peanut butter flavor (I tried some other flavors as a sample and they too tasted sour btw). Flash forward I started feeling very very sick and went to the ER. I ended up throwing up very violently. My boyfriend also didn't feel great and had diarrhea. We also know it was the ice cream because I hadn't eaten much before it and felt sick right after eating the ice cream. (Also neither of us are lactose intolerant at all and it takes a lot for me to throw up). I'll just say our flight home was not fun. read more
