First - those who know me will tell you I am a stickler for details. I thoroughly vet vendors and merchants, and am very frank with my reviews. I sent Salcido's Concrete Works the HOA-approved specs of the patio we wanted - extend the existing builder-installed patio, and span the back of the house (prep for pergola some day). While my measurements were close, Salcido double checked and remeasured to ensure accuracy. We had some bidders tell us rebar was not needed. But I know better given the rocky clay we have. SCW included rebar in their build. Their quote was very reasonable, and they stayed in our budget (even when my husband tried to change mid-stream and upgrade the rocks! Lucy and I worked it out). The crew showed up on time, got to work, cleaned up after themselves. They were polite, professional. We had a cooler full of water and gatorade for them. They had their own refreshments (didn't expect any from us) but appreciated and accepted our offer. Face it - it is hot and hard physical labor. When they arrived, they checked the yard irrigation to ensure what needed to be moved or capped. We opted NOT to cap the ones closest to the house so that the foundation can be watered. They prepared the base, set the frame, installed rebar, poured concrete - all in one day. Then filled in the open areas with road gravel as I requested. I did this to allow for easy install of posts for the pergola we want some day. The patio is sloped properly, and at least 4 inch thick. I posted two pictures. One shows our temporary fence (chicken wire) we put up to keep our 3 large dogs (doberman, mastiff, bull terrier) off while it cured. Our kids home from college were surprised and impressed. We had this company pour two slabs in our backyard last week and they left our front and backyard a…read moremess which we complained about and they had no professional response. Additionally the slab was poured over a drainage path and they didn't recommend laying a drainage PVC pipe which we were unfamiliar with but other companies our neighbors used all did. When we brought to water puddling to their attention we were told it wasn't their responsibility and that they would have charged more for it which means they knew it was necessary.

He gave me a reasonable quote for putting up the Christmas lights and we agreed. He stated at that time that the price we paid included taking down the Christmas lights in early January. When the lights were hung we had a couple issues, I wanted alternating red and white, he just put up just one color. Also I had wanted the garage outlined and that piece was missed. Ultimately, the job was made right and I paid in check when the job was complete. I've texted him on Jan 10 no response. Texted him on Jan 14 and he replied saying the crew would be there on Friday. Never showed. I texted again on Jan 24. He replied the next day saying his brother had passed. It is obvious to me that Matt's family suffered a horrible tragedy and was not in a place to respond. I can certainly empathize but wish there was more communication to just let me know the expectation beyond a "you'll hear from me when you hear from me" type response. Again, I'm sure I was the last thing on his mind. Matt has also offered to reimburse me for the added cost to take down the lights which I will take him up on.

SP Roofing & Construction was the first to respond and offered very competitive pricing. Matt worked with my availability and was very communicative when he ran into delays at another job. I began to feel like things wouldn't work in my favor when rain was forecasted for the next day but Matt came out on his own and did the work in a couple of hours before it started to pour down raining, and my lights look great!!! Plus, he was able to use the lights I already had from my previous home. I look forward to working with Matt and his company again in the future.

I'm writing this to share what a bad experience we had with Bradford and Son Painting and…read moreRemodeling. We purchased a Loft and hired them to remodel the Kitchen and two bathrooms as well as paint the entire Loft. We were told it would take about two months and it took about eight months we have had to hire contractors and pay them $4,000 to redo the shower floor because the slope would not allow it to drain. We paid Bradford and Son over $48,000 for a very poor job. They did fire the tile guy and rip out and redo tile that was so poorly installed. When our appliances were installed cabinet drawers wouldn't open because the measurements were not correct . We had to pay additional to have then fixed. We are now in the process of redoing the paint that they did. James told us we had a two year warranty on everything but sadly they won't answer the phone. We reported our issues to the Better Business Bureau and they sent them a letter. They finally replied that they would pay us back for the shower floor redo if they could pay us out. We agreed to accept a 6 month payment plan. Never received anything. The Better Business Bureau has since posted our complaint. Please never make a final payment until you are satisfied no matter what is promised.

They damaged around $1500 worth of materials and then walked off the project without notice and abandoned their own equipment. They still owe us money on the materials they damaged. Their paint job is questionable and the flooring has to be redone. They said they were cutting us a deal but they were literally the first people we called so how would we know what was a typical quote and what wasn't = they determined what would be a reasonable or unreasonable price to charge. Edit: We called multiple people (bids ranged from $1500 to $4500 for painting alone) and ended up using them as they seemed to have the better price at the time but we are paying for it now. They told us they would charge day labor charges for flooring the other flooring bids ranged from $3500 to $4000 Edit 2: The work done was for my roommate house in which I reside ergo OUR home
