A 5-Star is 100%. My 4-Star is 97%. Made an appointment over the holidays and, when I checked in on the day of the appointment, it was found that the appointment had not been placed on the schedule. To the credit of the staff, they were able to work us in and complete all requested repairs. The repairs were completed timely and professionally. The only down side was they did not do a good job cleaning up afterwards. I was able to complete the cleanup before the wife returned home and she was happy. However, the crew could have been a better representative for the company if they had left the area as clean as before the work was performed; and, I would not have been required to take additional time from my work to complete that task. total bill came to approximately $300 per hour for the two installers. when the invoice was written it stated a flat rate of $650 for heater install .This flat rate was never divulged in all the correspondences i had with their office nor is it mentioned on their web site. We have lived in this home for 30 years and been through about 10 plumbers. It seems they are either astronomical with their prices or they simply don't care and just want to get the job behind them. This is not the case with Chris's Plumbing. They show up on time, they are prepared with all the right Equipement and are qualified and competent to do most anything. Twice they have shown up for things that turned out very minor and quick and both times they have commented that I paid for a service call and is there anything else that needs attention. Another time I found mold behind and enclosed tub and Chris told me a quick and inexpensive fix, though I called a mold inspector who tripled the cost of the job...same end result. I had a PRV installed. I called and they showed up as scheduled. The job was completed. I did not ask for an estimate so I can't really complain. I had expected a trip charge and labor. I have photo of the bill attached. Instead there was a $500 service fee. I don't know if that is typical for plumbers in the area or not. Chris did a great job repairing a leak after we had a pipe rupture due the freeze and extended power outage in February. We had a lightning strike a week ago, and again they did a great job of replacing 2 very old water heaters that we believed were about to fail. He uses quality equipment and was very price competitive. The strike has also left us with another small but noisy leak we can not find. We have been using Chris' Plumbing for several years now. Having 2 houses and a shop on property, we can tend to use them more than others. They've done it all here: install a faucet, install a garbage disposal, fix miscellaneous issues. The best was a blockage in the drain line of our two upstairs air conditioning units. Our gas hot water heater started overheating. We called Chris' Plumbing and they let me know how much it would be to come out and fix it. Chris and Grady came out that evening! They took a look and let me know that it was too old to be worth fixing, and a new one would be the best option. Chris let me know that our closet wasn't up to code for the gas water heater either and sent me a quote for another gas water heater plus what it would take to bring it all up to code, they also included in the estimate how much it would be for an electric water heater. They did this free of charge! We got an electrician out to run the new electric, and Chris was back out that afternoon to install the new water heater and remove the old one. He installed a new shut off valve, answered all of my silly questions, showed me all I needed to know about our new water heater, and even capped off the old gas pipe. They made me feel safe and taken care of like I was family. I will definitely be using them again and would recommend Chris' Plumbing 10 times over again. read more

Chris told me I had a slab leak & bad drain leak. I paid them over $2000 of which $1425 was just for leak detection, but now they say they can't find either leak, much less repair them. He suggests I call somebody else, which is what I wish I had done $2000 ago. read more

I called Chris' plumbing and they were able to come out the same day. The front yard hose faucet was not turning off completely and the water wand sprayer had an on/off switch which was only reason it wasn't a swamp. The guys were here maybe 10 minutes and had a new faucet on and done. There's a minimum of $100/hr, plus parts, so I had them check the back yard faucet which was fine. They explained that these freeze resistant faucets (not freeze free) usually last approximately 4 years. Also, they still need covered for winter months to prevent freezing and/or busting. We have used Chris' Plumbing for a number of years and always like the service from Colton. We have a small water leak coming into the house and I called them to come out early this month. I cancelled my original appointment on February 11 because, being a senior citizen, I was able to a Covid vaccine shot that day and we rescheduled for a week later, Thursday February 18. I called on Monday February 15, 3 days before before the appointment, to confirm saying that some of my pipes were frozen so please keep my time slot for the 18th. On the call, Lydia kept asking if I wanted to cancel my appointment - they didn't want to do the work. Wednesday night they sent a text just cancelling the appointment - no call and no attempt to reschedule. So we are left hanging and believe the original repair might not be done for weeks because of the winter storm. The frozen pipes affected the hot water heater so we are without hot water. I've used Chris 4 times in the last 3 years and it's been a progressive decline in both quality and service. However my last interaction was horrible and effectively a bait and switch. The price I was quoted doubled. I was charged $650.00 to install a hot water heater that I had already purchased. When I brought this to the attention of the company I was told they would review it to possibly adjust the bill. The response I received back was "After talking to Chris about reducing the price, he said the job was done perfectly as per described in your initial call with Ricki, and didn't want to reduce the price." I'm not really sure what has changed with the company. They used to provide great service at great prices but sadly that is no longer the case. It seems that they've adopted the practice of charging unreasonable prices and being misleading about the true cost. read more

I've never encountered a company that is so dispassionate about service. I was charged $650 to install a already purchased hot water heater. I was also told that there is a recording that indicates I knew exactly what I was getting into. I assure you I did not. All that was needed was for them to cut the line on the old unit and install the new one. They did, and charged an additional $300 to do so. What is most disturbing however is that the owner is either inept at objectively reviewing the facts or is an outright lier; I'm not sure which is worse. Very competent plumbers. I had two plumbing issues back to back. The son came out two hours after my call to unclog a drain and had it done in two minutes flat. Another plumber in the area "fixed" a hot water heater issue, only to have it happen again five days later. They couldn't come back out for THREE weeks. (Despite my not having sufficient hot water with three small children in the house) However, Chris and his wife came out immediately and fixed the issue for them. I was in need of a plumber for a semi emergency situation. I called a plumbing company we had used in the past and was told I would be placed on a list and it could be 3-4 days before they could get to me. I received an additional referral from a friend. I called Chris's in the morning and was given an appointment time of 2pm. the same day. The guys called as they left the previous appointment and arrived prior to the scheduled time. The repair was completely done in about 30 minutes or less. The charge included the minimum call charge and a nominal amount in addition. DON'T USE THEM! Chis' Plumbing came out to fix a leak in one of the pipes by our pool equipment in April of 2013. They made us drain our pool, saying that's the only way they can work on the pipes. They spent over 3 hours on fixing one pipe. When we finally filled our pool back up (this took us a long time since we didn't want to run our well dry), we realized the pipe was still leaking. We called them and they told us that they would charge us again if they come out. When we explained that the job wasn't done the first time, they refused to provide a warranty on their work. After numerous phone conversations, they sent us a weird text message saying God bless us and we are not responsible for payment. After watching hundreds of how-to videos, my husband and I fixed the leak (the pool only had to be drained to the drain line). I didn't make a complaint at a time since I thought at least they were nice enough not to make us pay for a bad job done. But now, after 1.5 years later we got a phone call from a collection agency saying without payment they will put a lien on our house. I'm shocked and outraged that they have the audacity to claim money. read more

I would stay away from this company. I was misquoted by the wife (who answers the phone and deals with the customers) on my original call. She seemed very knowledgeable so I really wanted to do business with them. The next day she informed me that it was $100 higher than she quoted me for installing a water softener. After explaining that to me she said she would honor the price she originally quoted. I also let her know that I had a filter that needed to be installed, she told me that was going to be extra (probably around 20 min of labor) and that she would check and call me back that day. After no call, I called the next day which she again had to apologize for not calling me back. She told me it would be $100 for the filter install (hmm, I guess to make up for the misquote she was going to honor). I was upset but still nice to her and she knew it. When I asked when they could do it she told me she didn't want my business. She tried to explain that they had workers not come in this week and were running behind and those are the reasons she forgot to call me back. Sounds like a bad organizational situation. read more
